I have always loved Evenrood's. The food, beverages, and atmosphere are excellent. I recommend Evenrood's to everyone. We started with brussel sprouts, which were very tasty, just a bit salty. I usually get the salmon or halibut-I went for pan seared scallops. Excellent choice! I do not use a lot of salt at home, so again, a bit salty. My friends enjoyed the fish tacos and grilled shrimp. More fish on the tacos and a little less salt would have made this a five star review. Overall, still my favorite spot. The bar, the restaurant, the dragonfly decor -- nothing but love! Maybe I'll secure the old bank vault room when I graduate with my Master's degree in May 2025. read more

Evenrods is one of my favorite restaurants in Bangor. The food is consistently good and the service very pleasant. I ordered the halibut and it came with a delicious lemon blanc sauce. The fried rice cake that accompanied the fish was a tasty addition. The asparagus was nicely cooked. There is an upscale ambiance to the restaurant. If you fly in to go to the coast or mountains this would be a nice place to stop for dinner. It's nice without being fussy (though you will not experience fussy in Bangor anywhere). read more

I wanted to like this place, I came in to order takeout and the staff was nice and attentive. I ordered the seafood chowder (was craving chowder) and wasn't sure if it was enough food so I ordered the risotto, staff let me know the flavor was curry. The chowder was decent but the risotto was awful. Was not that smooth creamy texture you expect for risotto and it was just this one note of what tasted like supermarket curry flavor. Might come back for chowder but would be hesitant to order an entree. read more

If I could give this place less than one star I would my wife and I went there tonight and the the hostess seated us outside which was fine but the the waitstaff completely ignored us,another couple came in and were seated near us and the the waitress brought them glasses of water and utensils and completely ignored us,after twenty minutes of this my wife and I got up and left,the other couple asked us why we are leaving and we told them they haven't brought us anything or asked us what drinks we would like,we told them there are much better places than this in Bangor,we will never set foot inside the bad Attitude restaurant again. read more

Great ambiance for semi casual or semi fancy dining in downtown Bangor. Dragonfly margarita was amazing coconut being my favorite. Service was impeccable. Fresh calamari app was incredible. I think that the chefs need to be retrained. This restaurant made me excited because I saw the gorgeous atmosphere, but unfortunately I was disappointed by the negligence on the taste of the food. Took my fiancé and her mother to Evenrood's for dinner. It was my first time eating here. I had a delicious steak with shrimp and my fiancé had roasted red pepper and tomato risotto and her mother had the fish. We all loved our meals. Had the scallops. The place was very nice and even on a cold rainy evening it was Inviting. Drinks were on point.

Very good food and excellent service even though the place was packed because Santana was playing in Bangor that night. My wife enjoyed her strawberry Dragonfly margarita, and she can be picky when it comes to margaritas. We shared the crab cakes, they were well-made and crispy with just enough binder to stay together. The poblano coulis could have used a bit more salt but otherwise the sauces were great too. My steak was cooked perfectly and the béarnaise was very nice. She had lobster alfredo and that also was delicious. The only issue with anything was that the sides -- mashed potatoes and steamed broccoli -- were bland. read more

I hope that the drinks are good because the food is terrible. I wandered in on a Monday night with my wife and son. We ordered calamari as an appetizer a burger for my son and chicken enchiladas for my wife and I. Our server was openly disappointed that we weren't ordering drinks and proceeded to give us the bare minimum of service. The calamari was alright but the chicken enchiladas were some of the worst that I have ever tasted. They were bland and had clearly been sitting under a heat lamp for an extended period of time so the cheese on top was crusty and the tortillas were really mushy. If you're going to charge this much for food then it needs to be cooked fresh. My son said that the burger tasted like a burnt hot dog. Save your money and go somewhere else. read more

I was excited to try Evenroods meal prep service so I placed an order. During the week of the pickup I was exposed to Covid, quarantined and for got about the order. When I realized I had forgotten I called the restaurant. I was told they texted every person who ordered food and that they had indeed "texted" me. The number they used was my home phone which is not a number you can text. The person texting would have received a message telling them it was a land line had they truly tried to reach me. I asked what my options were and I received an email telling me since they sent a text and I didn't respond I was out of luck. I realize I should have remembered but there is no way they tried to contact me to remind me either. I have enjoyed this restaurant on many occasions most of the time with groups of friends. We will no longer give this restaurant any of our business. There are too many wonderful restaurants here to need to support a business with this attitude. read more

As with all places in Bangor - the people are friendly and helpful! The food was good though the service was a tad slow.

Adequate service with terrible acoustics.,& only 3 parties in dining area. Good menu selection but weird choices; Ahi tuna on cucumber slices surrounded by equal quantities of Wassbi. Strip sirloin drowned in Hollandaise sauce. Shrimp scampi with a thai chili sauce. Seafood chowder with haddock,tuna,potatoes and stale almost moldy oyster crackers. No one in our party was satisfied with how choices were assembled , but everything was prepared correctly but the chefs choices on how to assemble a meal were questionable. I have to say that we were excited to try out Evenrood's. The atmosphere was very pleasant and modern. When we walked into the restaurant there was no one to greet us. We waited for a bit to no avail so we grabbed menus that were sitting on a table, and wandered into the restaurant and finally someone who appeared to be a manager told us to seat ourselves. We sat at an empty table, and a server showed up with a very bland greeting. We ordered drinks and were ready to order our food, then the waiter told us about their specials. The dinner rolls that the waiter brought were hard. We ordered, a charcuterie board, lobster Alfredo, and a filet for dinner. My friend ordered his filet medium, and the filet was closer to well done, my other friend's charcuterie board looked colorful but was mediocre, the lobster Alfredo was very bland, and salt and pepper couldn't help the meal, and the lobster was over cooked(rubbery). I had to flag down another waiter that was hustling about to ask for our server since he never came back to check on us after our dropping off our meal and was on his phone at the bar. The server comes over, and ask what was wrong. My friend explained that the filet is close to well done, and the young man seemed puzzled by this, no apology, no nothing. We all wait until the filet comes back to eat together. The steak served was the head not the center cut of a filet, extremely tough and sinewy . The mashed potatoes tasted like ones out of a bag that'd been reheated, the bearnaise sauce seemed like it came from a packet as it was extremely powdery. All in all, the food was poor. The server never came back to ask how the new filet was, and never questioned why none of us were eating our meals, as we left more than half uneaten. He didn't even ask if we wanted any desert or coffee. While we waited for our server to come back to the table to drop the check we observed a couple of the kitchen staff roll the trash out through the main dining room, past our table and through the front door and down the street behind the building. Considering the exorbitant prices of the menu items that's unacceptable. It's really sad, because this restaurant has SO much potential. We paid $122 plus a cash tip. We will not be back. Not impressed. Just so you know the gentleman that ordered the filet has been a chef for over 30 years, and has even cooked for a U.S. President. My other friend has been in the hospitality field for over 20, and I have been in the restaurant business for 40. We know that there are times when you have an off night or things get hectic and you drop the ball. But taking into account the numerous other reviews reporting the same food quality issues, this is a trend and not a one off. read more

Everything was delicious. Food came on time. Delightfully attentive waiter, very kind. Appitizers: buffalo califlower packed with flavor. Less sauce is more but packed with flavor. A little bit of ranch powder sprinkled on or added as a side with a micro spoon would elevate this amazing appitizer. Spinach dip tasty but needs a tweek. Pita chip points are amazing but needs more artichoke juice in sauce. It still comes out baked with great crispie bites, that remind me of authentic crunchie pita chips/toast points. MAIN COURSE: Halibut is what you want to order. Crisped perfectly but needs more sauce. Ask for that, but HONESTLY you don't mind. It's a nice piece of fish. There is a veggie side but would be better as asparagus. Tuna: wonderful has nice flavor and a massive chunk of tuna. Almost rustic due to size and cut. Noodles tasty, slightly over cooked but good flavor . Salmon: good piece of fish but not great sauce. Throw it out and don't eat it. It taste jarred. Ask them for a fresh garlic aioli on top with some lemon zest. Simple and fresh. Chicken parm: avoid this dish. read more

We ate lunch here because it was one of the only places serving lunch in downtown at 2pm. I was very impressed. First of all, we spoke to the owner and she informed us that they had only been in business for a year. Second, this was in an old Bank location, so there is a gigantic safe door inside the restaurant. I thought this feature alone was cool. There was a great selection of fresh fish and some really good sandwiches on the menu. I had the prime rib sandwich and sweet potato fries, delicious! Lena had the blackened fish wrap, which I had a few bites of, and it was light and refreshing. I would certainly recommend eating here, there was a nice selection of beer on tap as well. read more

I came in on a Monday around 3 so right in between shifts to sit at the bar. The woman was on her phone and didn't acknowledge me for a good five minutes. I got a glass of Pinot Grigio and ordered a side of fries extra crispy and the veggie risotto extra veggies. I will give them that they make their own fries but unfortunately they're the kind that just cannot get crunchy at all and have no flavor. The veggie risotto did have a bunch of veggies and it was actually a gigantic portion but I think for the first time ever I had to add salt and pepper. Surprisingly zero seasoning or flavor. There was one server and all the tables were sitting outside while I was by myself at the bar. I felt relaxed but definitely forgotten about. Water glass empty, wine glass empty. I went here on a date with my Boyfriend, being from Portland it's always hard to find a nice place to eat when I come up to visit. I loved everything! The atmosphere was excellent and I felt very safe eating here. We started with some spinach dip to start and love it. I got the Filet with béarnaise sauce and it was delicious! My boyfriend got the Chicken Parm and it was good! It was just a TAD over cooked but over all he ate every bite! The Chocolate muse was delicious too and not over chocolatey which I appreciate.
