It was a little thin or soupy but great flavor The ouster crackers helped with the thinness Alex was the server and she was very nice. She may have been new or not well trained. Walked here from our hotel across the street. Nice atmosphere, and welcoming staff. Good solid fare, Borge the fish and chips and the steak salad. The haddock portions were substantial, well-breaded and crispy, but moist and tender on the inside. The steak salad was fresh, with nicely cooked and seasoned steak. I wanted to give a fair review, so I have eaten here twice this week while staying at the hotel. The first meal I wasn't impressed with - salmon was super salty from whatever soy mixture they use for the glaze. Fries were soggy and soft, and soaked in the glaze (not good). I also ordered desert, apple crisp with a scoop of Icecream. The apple crisp was not good- very watery, not very warm and the scoop of Icecream was more like a half scoop. The waitress took the dessert off my bill without my asking, so that was nice! The next visit, I ordered the steak with tots and veggie- SO MUCH BETTER! The tots are amazing, don't ever get the fries, always go for the tots. They are crispy and perfect. The steak was cooked to my temperature and tasty. The veggies were good. And then I ordered their signature cheesecake- HOLY YUM! They drizzle Bailey's Irish cream on it and it is so good! I like the ambiance too- the first time I sat in the more "restaurant" type of area up front, but the second time I went with my iPad and worked through dinner in a corner booth, true to pub style. Stayed here for a business trip. Came down for the hotel bar. Food looked good but never ordered myself just drinks this trip. Jill the bartender pulled off a cloverleaf with every pour so that is solid itself!! Good pours and drinks for a hotel bar. The bartender worked it I'm not sure anyone waited for a drink. Good conversation with the staff and other travelers. Well worth a visit if you are staying forsure!! read more

My first trip to The Claddagh Irish Pub at the Hilton Inn in Bangor, Maine was in January of 2026 looking for a place for a group of retired teachers. We get together one a month to chat about old times and our retirement. We take turns choosing a different breakfast restaurant each time. After a few years we had tried most of the regular places in the area. I was looking for another centralized place when I drove by The Hilton Garden Hotel in Bangor, Maine. They have a breakfast buffet every morning from 6-10 AM. I was greeted promptly, seated and options explained. The buffet, which included the coffee, seemed just right. The serving line had all the usual offerings: scrambled eggs, French toast, pan cakes, sausage, bacon, home fries- not the shredded potatoes, etc., and a fruit bar. The best part was the 2 chefs who prepared to take your order for anything else. I got the omelets with bacon, mushrooms, onions, green peppers and cheese. The waitress was very pleasant and checked frequently for coffee refills or if anything else was needed. The omelets were outstanding, same with the fluffy pan cakes, soft French toast, especially the crispy bacon. I have been back 3 times since January of 2026. Great chefs, staff and food. If you are in the area, you can not go wrong by giving them a try. read more

I ordered their special, "Chicken Cordon Bleu Sandwich". I got mine fried (they had a grilled option). The sandwich was huge! I ended up taking off the bun and still not finishing it! The fries were perfect too! I sat at the bar and the bartender was great. read more

Food excellent but don't sit at the bar unless you want to wait for food. Bartender is too busy talking to those that are drinking more so than those that are just eating. The ambiance is a bit dark. The service friendly, but inattentive ate times. The food is pretty good. We ordered the steak, tots, and veggie 4/5, ranch chicken sandwich and tots 4/5, and potstickers 4/5. Full bar, and adequate beer and wine choices. read more

I just had the best experience I have had in the 10 years I have been coming here for breakfast. Roz was my waitress and she greeted me with a warm greeting. My food was quick and made perfect. Roz gave wonderful recommendations for the area and places to eat and visit. She is an exceptional waitress and very attentive to her customers. read more

I'll start by saying that the staff is beyond helpful and nice. Love these people for what they do everyday. The restaurant is located in the lobby of the Hilton Garden Inn. It is a convenient spot for a traveler to get a quick bite to eat after a long day. The food is fair. Don't expect a gourmet meal. They usually have decent specials and prices; but beyond that it is the typical Hilton Garden menu. I recommend going for one of the specials as that tends to be fresh and tasty. read more

We loved this place! We tried the pou-tot-tine, margherita flatbread and apple crisp dessert. SO delicious! The food is very fresh. We sat in the outdoor patio next to a fireplace and our waiter was so friendly and attentive. It was the perfect pit stop on our road trip to northern Maine. Don't let the fact that it's inside a hotel deter you. Totally worth it. We'll definitely come back. read more
