I live in Portland, OR and happened to come across Pastiche Events while searching for someone to help bring to life the bridal party's vision of a vintage travel theme to be held in the Chicago area. Primarily we needed help with the food aspect of the shower, but Patty was able to assist us in so many other ways that were way beyond our expectations. The shower was pretty much perfect and the bride-to-be was blown away! Patty is everything you could ever want/need rolled into one amazing package--caterer, graphic designer, paper goods creator, event designer, and in general, a creative genius! She is easy to communicate with, SUPER organized, and also understands that there is a little DIY in everyone and manages to incorporate everything into an amazing event. Patty takes an idea and massages the little details, gives input and readily checks in with the client for feedback. She provides all of her services while being relaxed, incredibly prompt and professional, and making sure that the client is happy {think a younger, hipper, more laid-back version of Martha Stewart}. Her food is delicious and impeccably presented and there is attention to detail in every aspect of her planning. I hope to work with Patty again in the future! Pastiche Events is a Chicago land gem in the event planning/catering world. Patty is worth every penny (and more!). Prospect Public Library held for spring break. That was very very well attended, with a long line of folks waiting to get in (and that's with all of us registered to attend!), but the show was a lot of fun. He did a little magic, a little comedy, and some fun balloon tricks. This guy has been doing this all his adult life--unless that's also a joke and part of his act--but regardless, he's great at his job. Could not have nicer things to say about working with My Chef and Jamie Walsh for our wedding day…read morecatering. We met Jamie at our venue's vendor expo and were immediately impressed by their services, pricing, and vast food offerings. It was a no brainer to book with their group! We had our tasting a couple months before our wedding day; which is complimentary to the couple and a $50 charge for any additional guest to join. They have you select 8-10 appetizers, 2 salads, and 4 entrees to taste at their Naperville location. They also have displays of china, silverware, glasses and more to help couples select what aligns aesthetically for their special day. Jamie worked with us to make small modifications to their standard offerings to make the food exactly what we wanted! Our wedding day came and we were floored by the quality/presentation of food, level of detail in place settings, and service from all staff members. We had multiple guests say that this was some of the best wedding food they've had, steaks were not over cooked, and food tasted fresh. Jamie also let us add desserts a week out to reallocate money from a couple of guests who last minute were unable to attend. Their team was even nice enough to service items not purchased through their group: disposables for the late night snack, display and refilling of cupcakes, etc. Overall, their group went above and beyond for us under Jamie's leadership. Our tables looked great, our food was wonderful, and their team was fabulous. We truly appreciate all they've done for us and could not recommend them more! There's tons of space for kids to run around, explore, and burn off energy without feeling crowded or chaotic. And if you need a little reset yourself, there's always a quiet corner waiting for you. Whether it's a walking path, a bench, or just a peaceful stretch of the gardens, it's one of those rare places where you can step away, clear your head, and just breathe for a while. Beautiful grounds, relaxing atmosphere, and something for everyone. I came for a walk and left feeling lighter. Cantigny really is a little escape hiding in plain sight.
