Let me start off by saying that my experience with the x-ray tech and the actual doctor was phenomenal... Unfortunately, my experience with the receptionist left me absolutely sick over the carelessness and disrespect of my time, money, and resources: I was very transparent when I first contacted Ever After Dental regarding the poor experiences that I received at a previous dentists office and I provided all of my insurance information well in advance before physically visiting the office. The receptionist verified that their services were covered under my insurance, and we even had an email correspondence where I verified that I did not need to complete the out of network authorization paperwork because it did not apply to me. I scheduled the suggested follow up services, then received a predetermination that stated the doctor was out of network. I contacted the insurance and subsequently Ever After Dental: ultimately the receptionist was able to contact the insurance and verify what the insurance said is true in less than 20 minutes with no additional information from me, but could not do that prior to my visit. When questioned as to why this wasn't done prior to my visit despite my providing all of the information required and having the email correspondence regarding this explicitly, she could not take responsibility for her actions. She kept asking what I wanted out of this conversation and I had to explain to her that I needed to know her negligence was the reason I wasted an entire days worth of sick time for this visit that wasn't going to go anywhere. We were referred to Dr. Leung by our ortho due to my daughter's complicated issues with everything mouth related. She was examined few months ago and sure enough, she's both tongue and lip tied. We were referred to go through Myofunctional Therapy first to get her ready for her frenectomy. Fast forward few months, she's ready and finally got her lip and tongue released today. I was referred here by my cousin who had her sons lip and tongue tie release done by Dr. Cherish. I was told by my daughters pediatrician that she had a tongue tie but when I went to see Dr. Cherish I found out she had both lip and tongue tie. It was my toddlers first time at the dentist ever. Although he wasn't nervous, the hygienists were very careful and communicative with my toddler. Past dental experience had left me very scared of dentists. So much so, it has been YEARS since my last visit to one. But I wasn't able to ignore tooth pain anymore (especially being well into my 50's) and forced myself to make an appointment. I was honest with staff about my genuine (albeit embarrassing) fear and my very low pain threshold. Rochelle and Claudine greeted me at the desk and were instantly so kind and reassuring. The same with Maria who did my X-rays. She talked me through everything. She didn't rush and she always made sure I was comfortable. And then Dr. Karla was absolutely amazing! Todays day is hard to find a family Dr where you are a patient and not only a number. I can't remember the last time I had gone to the dentist but it had been over 5 years. It was so bad I didn't want to ever step into a dental office again after spending my youth looking forward to yearly cleaning. But that has changed. Ever After Dental sounded too good to be true based on reviews but they 100% are as amazing as they sound. Their office does indeed feel like a spa as mentioned in other reviews. Their receptionist Rochelle is incredibly nice and helpful and was kind enough to email me the patient paperwork which was amazing. Dr. Karla Torres and her dental assistant Claudia were so incredibly compassionate, kind and gentle. It made me remember how pleasant dentistry could be. Not once was I intentionally stabbed directly in my gums to prove I wasn't flossing correctly. Both Dr. Karla and Claudia made sure I was comfortable and pain-free through my visit. I was listened to with empathy and respect which was incredibly impressive since that is not something I had with my last dentist. I believe my insurance is out of network but I honestly had such a wonderful experience I'm willing to pay out of pocket. I feel like my entire view on adult dentistry has been changed. After weeks of complaining about my half erupted/infected wisdom tooth, my wife called Dr.Cherish to take a look at it. She was able to connect us with Dr. Karla the next day. The staff at the office were so nice and explained everything clearly and down to the last detail. They checked me in, took X-rays and explained my options. All within 30 minutes! They are very efficient. Dr.Karla explained she could take it out and have me on my way. Throughout the extraction she continually checked and made sure I was good. Since my visit, I've spoken to a staff member over the phone and sent another message (which was marked as seen for 1 week now) to management regarding my experience here. At no point were any of my poor experiences here taken seriously. I again listed that the staff incorrectly explained paperwork, were unable to demonstrate sufficient understanding of costs to the patient when asked directly, did not properly floss a patients' teeth, nearly forgot a step of the visit, & recommended an unnecessary procedure without providing any reasons as to why it would be beneficial-- not a single staff member has tried to apologize for even one of these (you can see one of the responses to my initial review for reference). This further demonstrated the lack of emphasis on patient care & unfortunately showed that this clinic does not seem to value growth/improvement. Everyone makes mistakes & thankfully those committed here did not lead to imminent patient harm, but I hope something was learned here so that no one else has to have a similar experience. read more

This review as a long time coming, our whole family has made this place our dentist we have had wonderful experience here. After looking for a dentist for my kiddos after our previous one did not take our insurance any longer. It was probably for the best since my son never liked going crying, never really had a good exam since never let himself examine. Before coming to Ever after dental we also try another local dentist but they did even get to exam him so no success there either.When we got here my son got a whole exam with out tears, and X-ray too finally it's was mine blowing he finally let himself. After this my son looks forward to coming every check up, and so does my daughter. Dr. Karla Torres's expertise and skill,, in my opinion, is unparalleled. She explains everything that she is doing, why she is doing it and what to expect. She even gave me some special toothpaste and mouth spray with instructions about their use. I feel that she not only cares about me as a patient but also as a person. I am 80 years old (I live in Montebello) and am rarely willing to drive on the freeway---but I do it because of the care and treatment I receive from Dr. Torres. My girls absolutely loved this dentist! Dr. Cherish and her staff were all very friendly, patient, cheerful and made my 3 girls feel comfortable through the whole process. The office was clean! They had all sorts of toys to keep them occupied while they were waiting for their siblings. They had iPads for them to watch on and allowed them to choose what they wanted to watch. The icing on the cake for them was the special prize at the end. Even though this was the longest part of the appointment they all enjoyed being there!
