My recent experience trying to get care for my son has been beyond frustrating and deeply concerning. My son is in pain and needs his wisdom teeth removed. I spoke to Silvia, the office manager, who assured me she would contact our insurance and provide an estimate. Days later, she emailed me a quote that raised red flags. When I checked the exact procedure codes on my insurance company's website, I discovered she was charging the full 70%--which is what insurance is supposed to pay--directly to me, the patient. This made it seem like they were billing both me and the insurance the same amount, potentially engaging in double-dipping. When I called the Glendora office to get clarity, the staff said I had to speak with Silvia. She wasn't in, but the front desk casually explained that "this is just the price we feel like charging," and if insurance pays more, they'll refund the patient. That's not how transparent billing or honest medical practice should work. I tried contacting Silvia again, this time at their Claremont Smiles office. Not only was she evasive, but when asked to explain the pricing, she suddenly claimed she needed to speak to the regional manager, Ariana. I reminded her that she is the office manager--yet she couldn't answer a basic question and delayed the conversation for another week. When she finally responded via email, she said my son needed to come in person for an estimate--over a week after I originally reached out and after acknowledging my son's pain. I asked to see the billing breakdown from my husband's previous oral surgery (also done at this office) to compare. My husband was sitting next to me and verbally authorized Silvia to speak to me. She refused to proceed unless he repeated a very specific sentence she demanded, even though I had already explained the request clearly. Once again, she deflected responsibility to Ariana, and when I asked for Ariana's contact information, Silvia hung up on me. The lack of professionalism, the runaround, and the shady billing practices are unacceptable. I will be reporting Ecco Dental to my insurance company. Patients deserve honest communication and ethical care--not to be misled or dismissed when they're trying to help their child in pain. Steer clear of Ecco Dental & Claremont Smile Design. I have been going to this office for 7 years and love it. I hate all things dental but they have always gone above and beyond for all of my family. Mom 89 ( older teeth problems) brother had horrible root canal issue that previous dentist was unable to diagnose. I think the staff is kind, and understanding of the urgency of having a dental issue. I have always called emergency number and gotten immediate response. I brought numerous friends and appreciate the state of the art equipment. My previous dentist made me go to different places for each thing. Bone scan, endodontist. This place is a total scam. It's like going to a used car dealer. I was just looking to start bi-annual cleaning with a new dentist and made an appointment. After an hour of x-rays, pictures, and a superficial visit with the dentist (where he told me my teeth were perfect), a worker pulled me into a little office to explain the "treatment plan" was more involved that just a cleaning and that I'd be out of pocket hundreds of dollars. Im never coming back to this dentist. The office staff are rude. I had an appointment for today and I called back in November to reschedule the appointment. The rude lady on the phone told me that the hygienist has her own schedule and there were no appointments available until January. I requested time off from work, so I could attend this appointment because if I didn't , then they would charge $50 to my account. Unfortunately, I received a call at 9:28 am canceling my appointment that I had scheduled at 2 pm. I called the office and Silvia answered and said the hygienist got sick and they had to cancel my appointment. How convenient is for them to cancel the appointment same day, but if the patient cancels the appointment then we get charged. It is not fair and that lady Silvia was so rude on the phone. This is my first visit and I must say I am impressed. They have a very warm and inviting lobby. Everyone has been helpful, attentive and kind. Always checking up and making sure I'm ok. Denise was gracious enough to show me around and go over what services might be of value to me. She was very thorough about payment plans and costs. Claremont Smile Design offers implants, veneers, and whitening. They construct implants and veneers in house and have comprehensive payment plans. Their prices are competitive and they are experts at what they do. This is a good option to consider - I didn't feel rushed or pushed at all. They're in the heart of Claremont, so plan ahead for parking. Both Jayme and Denise are amazing at what they do. They are kind and have excellent people skills. I have been in customer service for more than 20 years and I am usually disappointed in the way I am treated at different offices... My son needs three implants so I was searching for an office that would work with me. I was very nervous knowing how expensive the implants can be. I went to this office in Dec 2018 and Denise was extremely helpful. She definitely put me at ease. She was very nice and understanding with my financial situation. She explained the process and I felt comfortable. Therefore, I ended up canceling all my other consultations with other offices. Every time I called in, she was more than willing to help me with any questions and never ever seemed irritated. The implants needed to be put on hold until 2019 due to the braces my son was wearing... Now 2019 I have been having trouble with my son's orthodontist. He had not given permission to start the implants. Therefore, I was very upset. I did not want my son without teeth any longer. He happens to be missing the two front Lateral incisor and one Molar. I called Claremont Smile design s/w Jayme and she was more than willing to help get both specialist in contact with each other so that my son's treatment can start. She called me back in less than 24 hours she was able to have both specialist talk and come to an agreement to start the treatment on my sons 2 missing Lateral incisor teeth. She scheduled an appointment to have his X-rays the following week. Then my son got the implants the following Monday. Jayme called me before and after treatment to ensure me that my son was doing well during the treatment. (He is 19 years old) I could not take time off work so she made sure to let me know how he was doing. During the next few days, I received calls from Denise & Jayme checking on up on my son to make sure he was taking his medication and was healing correctly. Jayme also emailed me a breakdown of cost, payments and what my insurance will cover. I was able to understand exactly what to expect so I will not have any surprise bills. K, so I know I've already written a review for this business, but these people are so amazing I just had to write another one. Namely, because they went above and beyond what I thought they were even capable of, and treated me like part of the family. I recently had some health problems that turned into more than I thought was possible, and ended up affecting my mouth; I had a huge cold sore-like protrusion on the inside of my lip that was not going away, and only seemed to be growing by the day. I will spare you the gory details, but suffice it to say, I was getting worried about what it might be. Not only was Dr. Jacquez & his wonderful super kind & caring, but they put my fears to rest and explained to me why it wasn't going to turn into something worse. They took all the necessary tests quickly & efficiently, and before I knew it, after some surprisingly painless surgery that I thought I was going to have to go to a hospital for, the ordeal was over. The front staff was professional and understanding, I was unable to print all my new patient forms, I know how much that alone could set behind an office, they did not make me feel like I should just reschedule or judgey for not having it together. I have noticed Dr. Jaquez has been promoting his practice on local magazines and so, and that is the reason I decided to post this review. So people can make a decision based on clients experiences, not just on fancy advertising; I had a very disagreeable experience with this dentist some time ago. He gave me an estimate of how much it will cost the dental work that he proposed, and I paid him but he did not do all the work that he charged me for, including making a splint or night guard. Also, he had trouble removing an old implant and he just missed it up and irritated the gums around it, I ended having to another dentist to fix it. My experience with this dentist was very stressful, costly, and ineffective. read more

Go here if you want your kids to develop a complex about their teeth. We went to this dentist for a couple of years. Early on I noticed a lot of upselling for cosmetic stuff and saying little things to make me feel bad about how my teeth look - from the whole staff but mainly the hygienist. For the record I have stright teeth and have never had a cavity. My wife and kids about the same. For a while I ignored or joked with them about trying to undermine my self esteem with all the little "darts". Then one day the dentist himself Dr. Jaquez went on a bit of a shaming rant to my 9 yo daughter about the small gap between her front teeth, presumably grooming her for braces. I intervened and politley asked him to stick to the health of her teeth and let him know that I had also had a small gap that had closed on its own as I aged. Coincidentaly my wife did too. I asked him to please talk with us the parents first about any cosmetic recommendations so as not to give my kid a complex about her teeth -which are quite nice BTW even with the small gap. He insisted and even said to her that "as girl it would especially important, for her looks, to eliminate such a space." So I insisted again that he not say such things to a child. He got offended and started trying too berate me for having the nerve to challege his authority and expertise. Anyway a few months later we got a letter firing us from the practice. The only reason I would go here again is if I win the lottery and money becomes no issue. They are all smiles and act like they care about your hardships but they don't tell you that most of the procedures they do are not covered by HMOs. They call you in to a office drop the bomb that you'll have to pay thousands for simple procedures. But they don't go into details as to the fact that everything is basically being paid out of pocket by you. That if I had gone to another dentist my cost would be more around $400 vs $1,800. Went in to discuss the costs and just get told that everyone's on vacation and that I signed new patient packet and if I'm not happy transfer out. Biopure is a joke $800 out of pocket cost no help from the insurance. I will let all normal folks like myself who work hard and live pay check to pay check to stay away. read more

1. The web site states they are open 6 days a week. Not true. Open 2 days a week one week, 4 days a week the other week. You never know which week is which, as even on the door to the office, it does not indicate when they are open. Every time I tried to call the office, no person ever answered, and the answering machine is always full, so you cannot even leave a message. 2. I just needed a simple teeth cleaning, and my husband needed a deep cleaning, both completely covered by insurance. The dentist did not say we needed anything other than the routine cleaning. However, and evidently, the billing lady is the one who determines your "treatment plan." She worked up a plan that would cost me, out of pocket, $1,338.00, which included a completely new crown (a crown had come loose, and just needed to be resealed, which I had done at another office, for free.) My husband's deep cleaning would cost an extra $470. My husband had complete implants on the uppers, yet she wanted to charge us for the "periodontal scaling and root planning" for the entire mouth! 3. Another problem with billing: on my plan, she indicated that "drugs or medicaments dispensed at the office for home use" would be $30 for my entire mouth teeth cleaning, yet charged my husband $80 per quadrant. And we NEVER GOT ANY MEDICINE. Who needs medicine for a simple teeth cleaning? Billing Lady also wanted to charge me $45 for "laser bacteria reduction with soft tissue laser," Yet charged my husband $150 for the exact same billing code. 4. This dentist wanted $470 for half mouth deep cleaning. The PPO dentist we went to would do a complete mouth, deep cleaning, for $133, as uninsured clients. This extra "padding" of unnecessary treatments, and also the excessive extra amount, which also appears to be discretionary amounts, is why we have stopped going to this dental office.
