This was my first visit to the Carlsbad Everbowl location. I've visited a few different ones throughout San Diego County in the past, so I'm familiar with the selection of bowls and smoothies. Generally, the quality is pretty consistent across most of the locations. Why three stars for this one? I ordered a large Evergreen smoothie. I was given a poorly blended smoothie, with visible fruit chunks and spinach flakes, that was impossible to sip through the straw. My basic blender can do a better job (I make green smoothies regularly). Please train your staff to properly blend ingredients. I was driving in this location and I thought I would stop by and get a healthy snack. I wanted to eat a snack that is delicious and also is very healthy and good for me. I parked my car in the La Costa Shopping Center this afternoon at 2:30 p. m. Then I saw the sign on the door that said Everbowl. it was an odd time that I was walking inside this Everbowl Store. At first there was no customer's eating inside this Everbowl Store. There was two younger women working today at this Everybowl Store. Eva and Riley these two employees. Eva has long brown hair and Riley has long blonde hair. Both of these women were very personable and helpful to me in choosing the right Fruit Bowl today. This Everbowl Store didn't start to get really busy until from 3 p. m. to 6 p. m. I entered the front door and I was greeted by Ava this younger woman employee with long dark brown hair. Ava said hello and what would I like to order on their Acai Bowls? Ava was very polite and friendly to me today. I told Ava this is my (first time) placing my order with her from this Everbowl Store. I told Eva that I have eaten the Everbowl before but at another business place in Vista, CA not at their Everbowl Store. I asked Eva, can she give me a recommendation on What are their most popular Acai Bowls with their customers? Eva was very nice and she got out these little plastic spoons and let me taste two different Fruit Bowls. The first bowl is the Everbowl. Ava scooped out a little piece to let me taste the Everbowl. This lightly sweet flavor on this Everbowl,, it was very flavorful. Then the (second choice) was the Blue Lagoon Fruit Bowl. I also tasted the Blue Lagoon Fruit Bowl and it was really yummy! I decided to order the one medium size Blue Lagoon. The price was $9.99. I noticed there are some complaint's from other reviewers about the price of these Fruit Bowls. These prices have increased due to Covid-19 and this is the same price I had paid when I was at La Michoacana in Vista, CA for an Everbowl. This Blue Lagoon ingredients included: (fresh sliced sweet Pineapples, sliced Bananas, sliced Strawberries, Chia Pudding, Coconut, amd this Granola). There was also a fruity sherbet really delicious combination with this fresh fruit on top. This Blue Lagoon mediums size fruit bowl was so delicious. I would definitely order this same flavor again soon . It was that good! This Blue Lagoon Fruit Bowl has a slighly sweetened flavor and it i is very delicious. The price was $9.99. I also bought one bottle of Glaceau Smart Water. The price was $2.99. My total bill today was $12.98. The sales tax was $1.13. Eva's Tip amount I had chosen was $2.54. It was a 15% tip I had given to Eva today. My total bill was $16.65. I also told Eva that I will not be able to take any photos of my order that I will be placing with her today along with my review on their Everbowl Store. The reason is that my Apple IPhone XR this cell phone needs to be repaired later today and for the past (two days since yesterday and today) my IPhone XR. I can't charge it and I have no access at all to open up the Yelp website and I am not able to take any photos of their Everbowl Store and on the fruit bowl I order with her today. Ava told me today that is okay with her and of course it isn't my fault that my cell phone died on me. But I told Ava my Apple IPhone XR will be repaired later this afternoon. I told Ava I am a Yelp Elite 2023 Status Reviewer going on 5 years now. Ava asked me (Does Yelp pay me for my reviews I write) from places that I have experiences with? I said to Eva today NO. Yelp does not pay me any money for writing my new reviews and any photos that I have posted to a business pages website. Ava asked me why am I not being paid by Yelp? I told Eva it is because If the Yelp Management paid us Elite Status Reviewers, then any new reviews that we have written on a business place can be manipulated. I really liked eating this Blue Lagoon Fruit Bowl this afternoon. It was the perfect snack and it filled me up. This Blue Lagoon flavor was so yummy. I received excellent customer service from Eva today and Riley was also very friendly to me and really easy to talk to. Inside this Everbowl Store, the decor is very inviting and comfortable. Also their customers was very friendly to me. There are photos posted on their side wall of several women athletes and men athletes who are bike riding and participating in all kinds of sports activities. I usually love this place but have to say something: today was the third time in less than two months that I went in and they had no Acai. Isn't that primarily what you serve? One time I went to the Encinitas location right after and they had it. It's just weird. My biggest gripe is that they don't put a sign on the door, they still ask you what you want at the counter, and it's only when you try to order a normal Acai bowl that they tell you they don't have it. It's too cagey for my liking. Either fix the supply problem that no one else seems to have or own it and put a sign out so as not to waste the customer's time and avoid getting their hopes up. He called out for assistance several times and even stepped outside so the doorbell would alert staff--still no response. This used to be a regular Saturday morning meal after we played tennis together in San Diego. After moving to different cities together, we still have not found a spot to replace our love for everbowl. So this past Saturday, before heading out to the courts for 3 hours of pickleball, someone insisted we get an acai bowl. It's our first time at this location, it's not too far from where we're staying. Some sites say this place opens at 9am but they're actually open at 8am. I absolutely love the everbowl chain. It's my go to for a smoothie or for a breakfast option to get my morning fruit before work. Quick and yummy. However this particular location is the worst. It's unfortunate since I work in the plaza over from them so it would be so convenient for snacks and stuff while working but they're always out of stuff or the staff is never present. One week they were completely out of açaí. Today I went to grab a bowl before work. They weren't open 30 minutes after their opening time so I decided to come back a couple hours later on my break and they still are not open. It seems to have poor management and staff. It was our first time here and the grand opening marketing got me to come and try it out. They offered free bowls for the first 300 people. The staff were all very friendly and the line moved quickly. We tried the pitaya and açaí and loaded up on toppings. The kids thought they were getting ice cream and I was happy to be giving them a more healthy alternative. Prices ranged from $6-11 for a Sm- Large bowl. Toppings included fresh fruit such as strawberry's, kiwi, pineapple, grapes, blueberries and bananas. I liked adding peanut butter, chia pudding and granola. You could finish it off with bee pollen, cacao nibs, almonds, and coconut flakes. The small was more than enough to fill my belly and it was a really nice treat. I went to grab a smoothie before work at 8:30 am. I was about to head in when I saw the employee sitting on the counter on her phone in tight spandex/biker shorts. I'm sorry, but that is so gross. Ive worked in food service, so being on her phone didn't bother me, but it was the thought of underwear like material on a food prep counter that was so unpleasant to see. I've tried this place twice, the first was through a DoorDash order & secondly being in the area. Now, I absolutely love these bowls, they help you start off on the right foot. When walking in, I was greeted by the only employee, or so it seemed. Now, I explained to this employee that I had 3 bowls that I was ordering. The employee kind of sighed in a way that was a bit rude. I ignored it, they had just opened & she maybe wasn't finished with her morning tasks before opening. I've worked retail & I know how it gets sometimes. I apologized for not having the full order of all the bowls because I was waiting for the message to know exactly what was wanted. She seemed to try to rush me, I can't be rushed if I don't know what the people want. Another note, no one was in the establishment, it was just me and the employee. When I asked if I could add 2 bases, the response was yes followed with a "you can add whatever you want." Again, I was being polite and stated what I wanted in my bowl. When the last bowl was being finished 2 more customers came in, the employee seemed to panic. When it was time to ring me up, she just left me at the register with 2 bowls with a cover and one wrapped in Saran Wrap because it was filled so much. Sadly I think Everbowl has lost a loyal customer. They used to allow you to pick your base and milk/milk alternative which resulted in a creamy fresh bowl. Now they only have premade "sorbet" that tastes overly sweet like ice cream and isn't at all what I came here for. I have been a regular customer since Everbowl opened in Carlsbad, I don't think I will return. The prices are over 10.00 for a small bowl. I just visited and always order the same thing, a small bowl with Açaí, almonds, almond butter, Banana and blueberries. There was hardly any açaí in the bowl! There are alternatives to Everbowl. In addition the staff today was not friendly. Why be so stingy with the Acai when I am paying premium prices for a custom bowl. I spend well over 100. Per month and for what? Location is great, and easy to get to. Parking can be a little challenging. Quality seemed good, it is new, so now it is good. Usually base in made on site, not sure if it was just for opening, but base was pre-made. It was not as good, but still nice. I've been going to this everbowl for awhile now and have used their delivery service with postmates pretty much everyday now lol. They are so quick and have never gotten a order wrong! I highly recommend them! their staff is welcoming, sweet and positive and their store is always clean, uplifting and beautiful. I was really bummed out to realize that Everbowl had changed the recipe for the açaí. I feel like the quality went down and the prices skyrocketed. I used to go to Everbowl all the time, but now I feel like they are being greedy and cheating their customers. They used to have the BEST açaí, but now it's just like sorbe. Very disappointed. The quality has significantly decreased since they switched to their new menu. The food tastes artificial, the prices are higher, the quantities are much smaller. The employees don't even know what's in the pre-made mixes (yes, pre-made). I wasn't allowed to add peanut butter to my bowl. Overall really sad read more
