Absolutely delicious! Service was great, and food was fresh. I'd definitely come back. The flavors were so so good, and the prices were good for the portions. I got the medium heat on the tikki masala and it was the perfect flavor with a hint of spice. I'd go no spice if you're sensitive When I come back I want to try the momos. We also got the paratha which was delicious as well. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Ambiance is nice casual and right near swamis beach[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]]

Admittedly I've only had one dish here, but it's my new Indian spot as the butter chicken HITS! The chicken itself was a little dry, but the quality of the sauce was great. Service was good and completely non intrusive and a delightfully un American way.

The gentleman upon entering greeted us with a smile and assisted us with the menu. We ordered the Lamb Takari was very savory & tender, the Palak Paneer was made to perfection with huge cubes of cheese, Buttered chicken was sweet and savory with the butter sauce and, garlic/cilantro naan was amazing and chewy with a crisp. They serve family style in silver serving dishes as seen below but with every dish made you can taste the culture and love the cook put into it. The food was made fresh to order and was very delicious. This family fellow Napal countrymen in business. They are so kind and very welcoming. I only recommend that while serving the entries make the rice make sense. Each entrée was supposed to come with the rice and ordering three entrées that's not what we got. They brought over a bowl that did not equate to what you would get with three entrées that come with rice. The rice we were served with served for two entrées, but definitely not three. A small portion of rice should have been given for the 3rd entrée and all would be fair. I love supporting small businesses and I drive all over San Diego looking for the next best hotspot but make it worth the drive and be fair to your customers with the food portions as well as service. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The establishment is a descent size and can accommodate small to medium groups.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] This family fellow Napal countrymen in business. Sooooo yummy. My favorite was the tikka masala because it was creamy and had a depth to it that was unique. My saag was also yummy. The naan was fresh and soft too. Super affordable and great service.

Great gigantic selection of Himalayan dishes. Their level of spice/heat can be tailored for every dish. The server was very good at catering to my parents' needs. Good wine selection. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Nice ambiance.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] All dishes were very reasonably priced. Plenty of parking.

Everest Himalayan Cuisine offers decent food & service! We ordered the chicken tikka masala, malai kofta (mashed cheese potato, nuts, and spices cooked in tomato sauce), and lamb saag (boneless lamb pieces with spinach, herbs, spices). Even though the dishes were all different, they all came in slightly similar red sauces...wish we got to try something on the menu that contrasted the flavors of the chicken tikka masala more. That being said, I do recommend getting the chicken tikka masala with a side of garlic naan!

Good customer service, excellent tasting food! Huge fan of Indian food but never tried "Himalayan" before so this was a real fun treat Can't beat this lunch special price! Tried the chicken chilli and vegetable coconut curry , which came with rice, lentil soup and naan. Will be back soon to try more!

Weekend lunch here in sunny Encinitas was so satisfying! Thank you as always, Yelp friends, for the great recommendation. AMBIENCE (4/5) Spacious indoor and outdoor seating - both perfect in this beautiful weather! FOOD (4/5) The extensive menu offered many Nepalese, Indian, and Tibetan specialties, including crispy papad, several naans, achari chicken, tofu curry, chicken tikka masala, and three kinds of momo dumplings. Garlic Herbal Naan: an unexpected departure from our usual choice of regular garlic naan and liberally sprinkled with fenugreek, oregano, and other spices - YUM! - the naan arrived hot, fresh, and with a nice crisp. Chicken Momo: MUST GET! The 8 steamed chicken-cilantro momos were mouth-wateringly savory, filling yet light, and paired with a delightful orange dipping sauce. Lamb Tarkari: recommended by the proprietor, this smallish dish delivered on flavor! Tender (not gamey at all) chunks of lamb curried in tomato and herbs - you can bet I happily sopped every bit of the curry with naan and/or rice. Mango Lassi: did the trick! Chiya: very much enjoyed trying this Nepalese spiced black tea with milk. Floral, delicate, mild. Service (4/5) Super friendly and courteous!

Chicken Tikka Masala, Basmati Rice, Chicken Tikka, and Garlic Herbal Naan

Food: The first time we went, we ordered the chicken tikka masala (which comes with basmati rice), chicken tikka, and garlic herbal naan. Both chicken dishes had dry chicken and lacked flavor. However, the second time around, we ordered the chicken tikka masala again (level 7 this time instead of 6), shrimp tandoori, and garlic cilantro naan. The chicken in the chicken tikka masala dish was much more tender and had the perfect level of spice. I wonder if they had an off day during our first time there as this place has consistently good reviews. Also, the shrimp tandoori had great flavor and came with a side of veggies. Both the garlic herbal naan and the garlic cilantro naan were soft and were delicious with the creamy masala although the flavor wasn't as strong. Service: We met the owner of the restaurant and he was so nice and attentive! Ambiance: There's seating outside or you can choose to dine inside if you want more of the cultural experience with music playing in the background and pictures on the walls.

This restaurant is very special to my fiancé and I. It served as our impromptu first date dinner and subsequently our anniversary date dinner a year later. So this place is special to me. Food and service is exceptional. Samosas, chicken tikka masala, garlic naan and lamb biriyani all great. Minus one star for the restroom. It has a toilet and urinal and the urinal is closest to the sink with no barrier like it does for the toilet. My only complaint thus, the minus one star. I'll still come back tho. It's very busy and does lots of take out.

The service was very slow. The chicken tikka tandoori was tough and dry, and the rest were just blah.

I got the shrimp vindalu, which had great flavor. Each bite was a flavor explosion to my tastebuds. The shrimps were very tender, and the potatoes soaked up the sauce so well. Paired with the garlic naan, the meal was simply divine. Not only was the food amazing, the man behind the counter with the curly mustache was incredibly nice. He gave us recommendations, described some of the food, and even chatted with us a bit since the store wasn't too full. Since we were all so happy with our experience, we decided to go back the next day for lunch! This time I ordered the chicken lunch combo, which came with rice and naan, and I chose to get butter chicken and chicken curry. The lunch meals are premade and served from warming tubs, as opposed to the made to order dinner meals. It was still very delicious however! The butter chicken had a rich, pungent flavor, and the meat had a deep red color, I'm assuming from hours of marinating. The chicken curry was great as well, but not quite as good as the butter chicken. I also got a mango lassi, which I had heard all about but had never tried. It was super creamy and sweet, and was perfect to wash down the spicy curry. This restaurant has a few other locations all across SoCal, and each one is owned by a different members of the family, which we learned by talking to the man behind the counter. I would definitely come back, this is the best Indian food I have ever had.

I decided to get a mango lassi, naan, and chicken makhani, and the woman working the counter asked if I was ordering just for myself. When I said yes, she recommended the combo which includes rice and naan. I love a combo, and this one sounded like a really good deal. It also came with the option to get double chicken makhani or to add another entrée selection. I chose the malai kofta. I appreciated her suggestion, and considering how late I was there, I left a nice tip. When the order was ready about 10 minutes later, she told me that she had thrown in a couple of extras. Instead of making me feel like a burden for coming in late, they treated me with kindness and generosity. I say all of this not so everyone who goes here expects freebies toward the end of the night, but so that you know the service is top-notch and the food is a great value even without the bonus add-ons. If I find myself over here again while I'm still in San Diego, I will absolutely pick up takeout from Punjabi Tandoor.

Beautiful area with lots of kids playing by the fountain. Sitting is inside or outside the restaurant. Lady who greeted us were very nice. All tables were taken outside so we sat inside the restaurant looking out to the fountain area. Place was decorated nicely with pillows on some of the sittings. Really cute place and cozy. Three of us were hungry and the aroma coming from the kitchen made us twice as hungry. We ordered 2 vegetable dishes, Palak Paneer and Aloo Matar. The Palak Paneer which is spinach with cheese was delightful. It is our favorite vegetable dish and tied our entrees together. It's comforting and savory. The Aloo Matar fresh peas and potatoes were as delicious but hard to compare with the Paneer. I did like the peas a lot. For our entrees we had the Chicken Kadai, Lamb Tarkari and Chicken Tandoori. All came with basmati rice. The chicken kadai had a nice spicy kick. The lamb was tender and lots of cinnamon notes. The tandoori was crispy, tender and juicy. The Garlic cilantro naan was tasty, soft and buttery and great with soaking in all the curry sauce. All the flavors hit the right spot and were all delicious! We had a tiny leftover left of the rice, naan and Aloo Matar. Otherwise we devoured our entire meal. It was that yummy!!! We love this place. Everything about our experience felt like your grandmother or aunties made these food just for you. It was that authentic and cozy!
