Let's get down to it, I've ordered: garlic cilantro naan, chicken tikka masala, samosas and aloo gobi. Delicious! So much flavor and perfect amount of spices in every single dish. Absolutely satisfied with everything I've tried so far. Also try the mango lassi! So refreshing! I've been here on two occasions and the staff has always been very friendly, it makes me happy to see a family business doing well. I will say that they do get A LOT of to-go orders, so if you're coming in for dinner on a busy night like Friday or Saturday, be prepared for a wait. We waited over 45 mins for our dishes to come out on a Friday night at 7 PM. Small staff, large amounts of to-go orders and authentic food that takes a while.. equals long waits. I get it because my parents used to run a restaurant, so I wasn't mad. But just be advised to be patient on a busy weekend night. This was probably the best food we have had while in Southern CA for the past month. I have soy allergies and can't eat tofu and I'm pescatarian. Every recommendation was superb. The flavors were wonderful, aromatic and nothing was overbearing by being too spicy. The Garlic Naan was the best I've ever had anywhere, cooked perfectly. We got a side of Raiita which was good (a 4 not 5). The Sag Panner was loaded with cheese cubes and very tasty. The vegetable moma had a side sauce that was excellent. While living a few miles away we have never stopped in until tonight looking for something casual, different, and healthy. My wife and I both loved our meal consisting of chicken tandoori and a chicken/eggplant dish. The food was delicious. The tandoori was brought out on a sizzling platter and the chicken could be cut with a fork. We left feeling full and satisfied. Prices were extremely reasonable and portions were hearty. The portion sizes are not the largest (by American standards), but the food is pretty filling. The Vegetable Momo has a good filling including cabbage, spinach, and nuts, but my company and I agree that the sauce (not spicy) adds even more tasty flavor. Wow! This place was delicious!! We've driven by this place multiple times whenever we are in Encinitas because it's on the main road. It's easily accessible and there is plenty of parking. I loved how the server was very helpful in recommending dishes for us since it was our first time dining there. We got the tandoori chicken, tikka masala, butter chicken, lamb and garlic naan. I can't believe I'm saying this but our waiter was either racist or sexist or both. I ordered the lamb biryani and he refused to let me have it, claiming it was too spicy (I was one female in a group of 6 white folks, 3 men 3 women). I, my husband and my mother in law assured him that was what I wanted and he guilted another woman at our table into having the korma just to get him stop lecturing us about the spice. He honestly lectured for 3+ minutes and only stopped when we cut him off. Then when my husband ordered, he asked him the spice level and let him proceed no questions asked with a 6/10. When the biryani and korma arrived, NEITHER were spicy!! We had to ask for spicy sauce on the side. The food is good but the service was disgusting. read more

I am so glad I found Everest in Encinitas! It's been a while since the last time I had Indian food, and it's been even longer since the last time I dined in an Indian restaurant. Fortunately, Everest was open and ready to rock my world. I had the Palak Paneer and ordered some garlic naan to go with it. Please keep in mind: Their food seems to be on the spicy side, so make sure to order mild if you have trouble with hot/spicy food. I ordered medium, and my mouth still felt pretty fiery. Also: I'm certainly not complaining! This food was not just "hot for the sake of heat". My Palak Paneer packed plenty of great flavor. The tomato and the spices got along swimmingly, and the paneer was perfectly firm yet chewy. The naan just made my brunch even better. It was perfectly fluffy and pillowy, yet it also packed a great garlicky punch! All in all, I'm very happy I stopped at Everest earlier today. I always felt very safe dining inside, as staff were following all appropriate health safety protocols (and then some). I came up to Encinitas to do a staycation for a couple of days and ordered delivery to my air B&B my first night. I was pleasantly surprised with the food. I ordered a vegetable korma meal that was absolutely scrumptious! It was made with fabulously fresh veggies-potatoes, carrots, zucchini, and more. The sauce was delectable and creamy, as it should be. I also ordered chicken tikka Masala which is my go to every time I get Indian food. The flavor was pretty good, but not the best I've had. A tad blander than I'm used to as far as flavor and the sauce was less creamy. But it was still decent. I would definitely come here again and try out more of their dishes. We all got different meals some got vegetarian (aloo saag, paneer tikka masala, curry, and etc). They asked on a scale of 1-10 how spicy (we all chose 10 and it was well worth it). Definitely will eat here again when I visit San Diego in the future. We chose to get Gulab Jamuns to go and it reminds me of my childhood. I have been coming here for years because I love their food as well as the staff, who have always been so kind. however, the last 3 times have not been nearly as good as I'm used to. So I figure, this is not a fluke, something has changed, not for the better. there is less depth and flavor to all the dishes I love and have enjoyed for a long time, especially the daal soup, chicken tikka, vegetable coconut curry, all the tikka masala, tofu, mushroom and chicken. maybe there's a new chef, or they've changed the herbs and soices, or are cutting back on how much herbs and spice they use. The flavor and depth are much weaker, and the wonderful, lingering aftertaste just isn't there. The naan bread is still amazing, but even the rice is not as appealing. I'm am writing this hoping that the management will read it and please bring the wonderful flavors back! I would probably not go back but my husband still likes it and loves the staff, so he puts up with the changes. read more

I am so glad that I found this place on the strip, everything all around was excellent. The owner is super sweet and just goes above and beyond to satisfy is guests. The restaurant is spacious and has outdoor dining so you can people watch while you are enjoying your meal. The food, well the food is flavorful and delicious. We ordered the famous vegetable samosa and they were yummy, soft on the inside and crispy but not dry on the outside. We are also ordered the mixed vegetables that are cooked with Himalayan spices and that dish was superb, the owner told me that he imports them directly from Nepal, that was my favorite dish, my hubby also ordered nawaratan korma , vegetables coconut curry, we omitted the raisins and also the dish flavorfully, creamy but not too heavy, entires came with rice. Both had strong and robust flavors, very different from each other. They offer different meat choices as well as vegetarian options. The lamb we got was dry and chewy but the veggies on it were so delicious. Drink: I had the house white wine which was so good bc it was a little dry and that's what I like in my white wines.
