This is a gem in Encinitas! And when we arrived on a Sunday evening, there was a little bit of a wait so that's always a great sign. Since they're located on the main street, you can find parking via the street or at the train station right around the corner. For two we shared the lamb momos, Lukshya ko Masu, and the Paneer Tikka Masala. Everything was flavored so well and paired great with naan and rice. Service was awesome. The food is so thoughtfully prepared and flavorfully addictive - I'm convinced the main ingredient is either love or a controlled substance (in all likelihood, maybe both). Furthermore, I don't even know how the restaurant is able to stay in business with its incredibly reasonable pricing - pro-tip: lunch specials are the only items for which you can't use the current 15% off Yelp check-in offer, which is completely understandable, given they are already a complete and utter steal. I honestly have loved everything I've tried so far on the menu, but am particularly obsessed with the nawaratan korma (vegetable coconut curry). My friend and I got take out here and it was so delicious! The chicken tikka masala was so good. The sauce and creaminess of it was perfect. The chicken was a little dry but the sauce makes up for it. Basmati rice is just amazing. They gave incredibly good portion sizes. It doesn't look like too much at first but neither of us could finish we were so full! This was really good! The only reason there is 4 stars instead of 5 is because the chicken was a bit dry - definitely still good but would love to see that improve ! The staff was quite nice when we went to pick it all up and they had everything out very fast! When we went inside the space it was very beautiful, clean and spacious able to fit large parties. The issue I had was when one of the dishes was delivered to our table, the waiter quickly grabbed a hair from the dish and walked away. I am not ok with that. Food was okay. Chicken momo was tasty, but some parts of the wrapper were dried out and tough. Chicken tikka tandoori looked great, but the chicken was dry and it had a tangy taste that didn't go well with the dish. Palak paneer was the best item we tried, but pretty on par with most other places. Garlic naan was also tasty, but a bit dry and crispy. Service was okay too. Except when he brought the chicken momo, he quickly picked something off the plate, flicked it towards the ground, and walked away. It seemed like there was a hair or something that he saw just as he put the plate down. My wife with the iron stomach ate from that side of the plate, because she's fearless. We forgot to use the 15% for checking in, but even without it, the prices were pretty good in comparison to most other restaurants' inflated pricing. read more

It was our first time tasting biryani so we didn't know what to expect but it wasn't our cup of tea. It was also spicy! The oil was kind of rancid tasting and it's just dripping in. It was nasty. They offer outdoor seatings! And it's dog friendly outdoor spot too. The service was attentive, and food came out quick. They do have weekday lunch specials that looked like a good deal. I've had the butter chicken, regular naan and mango lassi. This butter chicken hit the spot!! They did not skim the chickens, which I always appreciate. After my wife and I had business meeting in Encinitas on a Sunday, my wife and I decided we should have dinner in the area and try a new place to eat. Boy, did that turn out to be a great call! I turned to Yelp as usual for guidance and found Everest with 5 stars. I wasn't really craving Indian type food and was considering Italian, but my wife convinced me that we should try it because of the high rating. Everest did not disappoint. We rarely go to Encinitas due to the distance from home, but because of this dining experience, we will start visiting more often. Before I get to the food, I want to say the service was exceptionally good and friendly. It is family owned and operated. I can't remember the last time we got such good service in terms of friendliness and conversation. Ok, on to the food. We started with an Everest Himalayan salad. It's show you a picture of it, but we ate it too fast before I remembered to take a picture... oops... the pic I have shows how there was nothing left after we demolished it. Needless to say, highly recommend. Now, the way Indian food is, the pictures don't do it justice because it all pretty much looks the same. What sets this place apart is the insane flavorfullness of the dishes. We eat Indian food pretty regularly at multiple restaurants. I would say that this was THE BEST I have ever had. Just VERY, VERY TASTY! I am very big on Naan. The best Naan I have ever had was either in Kuala Lumpur or Singapore. Their Naan ranks right up there. The Basmati rice was just perfect. Everest Himalayan is right on the 101 and has plenty of seating but we opted for a takeout order and it was perfect. We got the Mushroom Tikka, Vegetable Tikka Masala and the Aloo Gobi. Each one was prepared perfectly and was a very sizable portion. Depending on how hungry you are - you could probably split one between two people. The naan was also delicious! Went for dinner date with the hubs. The food was so flavorful and delicious. There were so many options the menu was massive. We shared the HIMALAYAN SHERPA SALAD the dressing was amazing! I had the chicken and eggplant dish called KUKHURA RA BHANTA. It was so good! Don't let the little pot they serve everything in foil you, there's plenty for leftovers!
