The gentleman upon entering greeted us with a smile and assisted us with the menu. We ordered the Lamb Takari was very savory & tender, the Palak Paneer was made to perfection with huge cubes of cheese, Buttered chicken was sweet and savory with the butter sauce and, garlic/cilantro naan was amazing and chewy with a crisp. They serve family style in silver serving dishes as seen below but with every dish made you can taste the culture and love the cook put into it. The food was made fresh to order and was very delicious. This family fellow Napal countrymen in business. They are so kind and very welcoming. I only recommend that while serving the entries make the rice make sense. Each entrée was supposed to come with the rice and ordering three entrées that's not what we got. They brought over a bowl that did not equate to what you would get with three entrées that come with rice. The rice we were served with served for two entrées, but definitely not three. A small portion of rice should have been given for the 3rd entrée and all would be fair. I love supporting small businesses and I drive all over San Diego looking for the next best hotspot but make it worth the drive and be fair to your customers with the food portions as well as service. The establishment is a descent size and can accommodate small to medium groups. This family fellow Napal countrymen in business. They are kind and very welcoming just tweek that and you got a gem

Lamb Tikka Masala and Chicken Saag and Garlic Cilantro Naan

Sooooo yummy. My favorite was the tikka masala because it was creamy and had a depth to it that was unique. My saag was also yummy. The naan was fresh and soft too. Super affordable and great service.

Great gigantic selection of Himalayan dishes. Their level of spice/heat can be tailored for every dish. The server was very good at catering to my parents' needs. Good wine selection. Nice ambiance. All dishes were very reasonably priced. Plenty of parking.

Everest Himalayan Cuisine offers decent food & service! We ordered the chicken tikka masala, malai kofta (mashed cheese potato, nuts, and spices cooked in tomato sauce), and lamb saag (boneless lamb pieces with spinach, herbs, spices). Even though the dishes were all different, they all came in slightly similar red sauces...wish we got to try something on the menu that contrasted the flavors of the chicken tikka masala more. That being said, I do recommend getting the chicken tikka masala with a side of garlic naan!

Good customer service, excellent tasting food! Huge fan of Indian food but never tried "Himalayan" before so this was a real fun treat Can't beat this lunch special price! Tried the chicken chilli and vegetable coconut curry , which came with rice, lentil soup and naan. Will be back soon to try more!

Weekend lunch here in sunny Encinitas was so satisfying! Thank you as always, Yelp friends, for the great recommendation. AMBIENCE (4/5) Spacious indoor and outdoor seating - both perfect in this beautiful weather! FOOD (4/5) The extensive menu offered many Nepalese, Indian, and Tibetan specialties, including crispy papad, several naans, achari chicken, tofu curry, chicken tikka masala, and three kinds of momo dumplings. Garlic Herbal Naan: an unexpected departure from our usual choice of regular garlic naan and liberally sprinkled with fenugreek, oregano, and other spices - YUM! - the naan arrived hot, fresh, and with a nice crisp. Chicken Momo: MUST GET! The 8 steamed chicken-cilantro momos were mouth-wateringly savory, filling yet light, and paired with a delightful orange dipping sauce. Lamb Tarkari: recommended by the proprietor, this smallish dish delivered on flavor! Tender (not gamey at all) chunks of lamb curried in tomato and herbs - you can bet I happily sopped every bit of the curry with naan and/or rice. Mango Lassi: did the trick! Chiya: very much enjoyed trying this Nepalese spiced black tea with milk. Floral, delicate, mild. Service (4/5) Super friendly and courteous!

Chicken Tikka Masala, Basmati Rice, Chicken Tikka, and Garlic Herbal Naan
    Viviana S.

Food: The first time we went, we ordered the chicken tikka masala (which comes with basmati rice), chicken tikka, and garlic herbal naan. Both chicken dishes had dry chicken and lacked flavor. However, the second time around, we ordered the chicken tikka masala again (level 7 this time instead of 6), shrimp tandoori, and garlic cilantro naan. The chicken in the chicken tikka masala dish was much more tender and had the perfect level of spice. I wonder if they had an off day during our first time there as this place has consistently good reviews. Also, the shrimp tandoori had great flavor and came with a side of veggies. Both the garlic herbal naan and the garlic cilantro naan were soft and were delicious with the creamy masala although the flavor wasn't as strong. Service: We met the owner of the restaurant and he was so nice and attentive! Ambiance: There's seating outside or you can choose to dine inside if you want more of the cultural experience with music playing in the background and pictures on the walls.

There are a lot of Indian food options and decided to give Tandoori Palace and try. Our food arrived hot, fresh, and the portions were more than enough for two adults and one toddler. Plain Naan: Maybe I should have opted for the garlic one or one of their specialities but the naan was heavy and not light, airy, fluffy. Lamb Tikka Masala: Big chunks of tender lamb. We got medium spicy and it was a good amount of spice for us. Flavorful. Vegetable Pakora: Everyone enjoyed these! The dipping sauces were interesting (never had it before) but it break up the fried components of it well. Light, crispy, not oily or greasy on the hands. Tandoori Chicken: Super tender, super juicy, and well flavored chicken. Our toddler ate majority of this portion with pakora. The amount of rice given with two entrees is also a very good portion so I would avoid ordering extra rice!

Beautiful area with lots of kids playing by the fountain. Sitting is inside or outside the restaurant. Lady who greeted us were very nice. All tables were taken outside so we sat inside the restaurant looking out to the fountain area. Place was decorated nicely with pillows on some of the sittings. Really cute place and cozy. Three of us were hungry and the aroma coming from the kitchen made us twice as hungry. We ordered 2 vegetable dishes, Palak Paneer and Aloo Matar. The Palak Paneer which is spinach with cheese was delightful. It is our favorite vegetable dish and tied our entrees together. It's comforting and savory. The Aloo Matar fresh peas and potatoes were as delicious but hard to compare with the Paneer. I did like the peas a lot. For our entrees we had the Chicken Kadai, Lamb Tarkari and Chicken Tandoori. All came with basmati rice. The chicken kadai had a nice spicy kick. The lamb was tender and lots of cinnamon notes. The tandoori was crispy, tender and juicy. The Garlic cilantro naan was tasty, soft and buttery and great with soaking in all the curry sauce. All the flavors hit the right spot and were all delicious! We had a tiny leftover left of the rice, naan and Aloo Matar. Otherwise we devoured our entire meal. It was that yummy!!! We love this place. We were the only people in the restaurant and we made it there in time for the lunch special, which was a bonus. I was super hungry, I ordered a mango lassi and chicken MoMo for appetizer. When they brought out the mango lassi they also surprise me with a nice little bowl of a yellow daal soup. I scarfed them both down within minutes, which I kind of regret, because by the time of the rest of the food came out, I was almost full. The lunch specials came out before the MoMo but no big deal. The lunch special is really a great value. They give you a ton of food. You get two of the lunch items with rice and naan. I ate a little bit of it, but ended up taking most of it to work for lunch the next day. I had the vegetable korma and paneer tikka masala. I didn't get any spicey because I wasn't sure how hot they were gonna make it and the vegetable korma really could've used a little bit of spice, but it was still delicious. The paneer tikka masala was outstanding, had so much flavor in it. The MoMo was also fantastic and we did eat all of those because I didn't think they were going to hold up well if we took them home. I love how they made them with almost like a little cup at the top that you could put some of the sauce in. Don't be like me though, and give them a few minutes to cool down, the broth inside the dumplings is super hot. I was so excited I bit into it a minute or two after it came out and I wish I had waited a little longer. I would absolutely return to this restaurant when I am in the area.

FIRANGI Authentic Indian Gastropub -- What a Place!…read more Wow. I honestly walked in expecting a good Indian restaurant... but what I found was something completely different. This place isn't just a restaurant -- it's a full-blown lounge with style. First thing you notice is the vibe. Beautiful Tiffany-colored interior, elegant lighting, and a stunning marble bar that looks like it belongs in some high-end lounge in London or Dubai. Very classy, very comfortable, very cool. But wait... it gets better. POOL TABLES! And not just decoration -- actual playable tables. $1 a game! I nearly fell off my chair. I haven't played in ages. When I was younger I used to be pretty serious about pool, so naturally I had to grab a cue and see if I still had the magic. Let's just say... the spirit is still there, even if the aim needs a little polishing. They even run pool tournaments on Saturdays, which is amazing. So now suddenly dinner can turn into a little friendly competition. I'm already planning my comeback tour. Now about the food -- absolutely authentic and delicious. Real Indian flavors, beautifully presented, rich spices, and clearly prepared with care. Everything we tried was excellent and I'm already planning my next visit because I have to try the lamb. I've heard it's fantastic. A special thank-you to Sky, the lady boss of this place. She is super friendly, incredibly polite, and very professional. You can immediately tell she knows the cuisine inside and out. She explained dishes, made recommendations, and made us feel genuinely welcome. Hospitality like that makes a huge difference. So what do we have here? * Beautiful lounge atmosphere * Marble bar and stylish interior * Authentic Indian cuisine * Pool tables for $1 (yes, really) * Saturday tournaments * Fantastic hospitality Honestly, this place is a hidden gem. A perfect spot for dinner, drinks, and maybe a little pool if you're feeling competitive. Let's just say this: I will definitely be coming back... probably way too often. If you see a guy practicing pool shots while waiting for his lamb curry -- that's probably me. Highly recommended. woww
