Visiting here on a Sunday afternoon I was hoping for a simple curry meal. I learned that the lunch special (meat curry+ naan+rice+ salad) isn't offered on the weekends. So I asked about getting a combo which doesn't exist. Everything is a la carte. So had I ordered that, my chicken korma meal would be $17+ $5 naan +$?? salad = $27+ for a basic lunch. So I got the basic curry and rice and left. While I waited for my order, a lady came in and was trying to place a carryout order and she asked for the curry to be packaged separately from one of the food items so it wouldn't get soggy. Seemed like a reasonable request. But the guy behind the counter told her no so she walked out empty handed. It seems that while the food here tastes good, the customer service is lacking and they don't have a good offering besides their lunch special. I would not come here again outside of the lunch hours. I picked mild for the spice level and it still had a little more kick than expected (not that I'm complaining)! What a difference a year doesn't make... I visited for the first time about a year ago and really enjoyed my meal, but the man at the register was rude. Here I am a year later going back to order an appetizer. As I placed my order, the man at the counter (not the same person as my first visit) kept interrupting me and was abrupt and with responses to my questions and statements. I observed a customer ask about some of the menu items, including the Indian tea, to which he said "You're not going to like that. You should get the mango smoothie." I was sooo happy when I spontaneously came across Tandoori Guys during my lunchtime. When I entered the restaurant, the young guy behind the counter was super friendly...ready to take my order. I felt welcomed and immediately embraced the down-to-earth vibes I was feeling. I even asked him to play the punjabi music which was on pause. I ordered the Saag Paneer at a 7 spice level then smiled at him...reassuring him I'm down with the spiciness. Soon afterwards, I didn't have to wait too long for my lunch...gotta love this exceptional service. My food looked amazingly delicious and it was! Naan bread had the perrrfect crisp. Basmati rice was cooked to perrrfection. Saag Paneer had the right amount of Indian cottage cheese cubes. Chana Masala was sooo flavorful and tasty. Salad provided the right balance. The mango lassi was not horrible but certainly not specia andl I can't think of any worse mango lassi I've ever had. The service was pretty straightforward, nothing exceptional, which makes sense because it is branded as a quick order lunch establishment, with minimal seating and certainly not suitable for group dinners. I expect somewhat more reasonable prices when a place is set up for a quick lunch, but the prices are $30 to $40 per person with a side and drink. This was an amazing lunch service. Walked in and ordered the Peshawari Chicken. Dark meat chicken in a coconut curry sauce. It was such a great meal. I brought my colleagues and friends to dine here and my relatives when they are in town. Today's experience was very disappointing - I had ordered the tandoori chicken to-go. The chicken was dry and the portions were surprisingly small, certainly not what I expected. It appears that the chicken were leftover pieces from the day prior and they were not tender or juicy. The place was kind of crowded, it was Friday when it was my turn at the register I told the young man helping me that it was my first time in and I needed a recommendation of what to eat. He never made eye contact with me. he had his phone below the register and he was watching videos. I was surprised he could have his phone out while he was working. Totally YUMMY Tandoori Guys is now one of my favorite go-to eateries! I love that their dishes are on point when it comes to spice level. When we order take-out here we have to bear in mind that some of my staff are allergic to super spicy foods. For some of the other places in the area, "Mild" actually means "Mildly HOT" and that's left one of two people having to leave meetings and projects early and run to the restroom, clenching their butt cheeks along the way! They are spot on with both with their flavors and spice levels here and I love them for that. Their Masala Fries are so darn delicious and are an awesome alternative to asada fries. Tandoori Guy's Samosas are legendary because they're always piping hot, fresh, fragrant, flavorful and are a meal in themselves when paired with a side salad. Went with your biryani and tandoori items (which aren't being cooked in a tandoor at all) they're tasteless and no masala at all.
