My favorite dishes to order are the paneer saag, malai chicken, chicken korma and butter chicken. In my opinion, Everest serves the creamiest saag and the most flavorful butter chicken. We came to see if the butter chicken still held up after a few years absence. The restaurant has been renamed to Everest Kitchen. The staff was friendly and attentive. The butter chicken was still as tasty as ever. I also tried the tikka masala which was really good and had the right amount of spice. If you don't like spice, stick with the mild option. Himalayan Kitchen is the best restaurant! So much so that my husband chose it for his birthday meal. Not only is the atmosphere welcoming and the food divine, the staff - especially Pandee - is wonderful, too! They are attentive, incredibly friendly and helpful, and we enjoy them as much as the food. Utah's got some of the amazing Indian food! My colleague and I stopped by for dinner. Immediately, we were hit with the aroma of spices as we walked in. My go-to is always butter chicken and this one was amazing! I tried a bit of the aloo matar and it was also super flavorful. I initially found this place because many Indian restaurants were closed on Monday. And Himalayan Kitchen also serves beer which was important to me. I love a good lunch beer. I tried an Indian beer called Taj Mahal. It was very light beer and it was the size of two. This has become my new favorite Indian restaurant. The garlic cheese naan was so good. It reminded of a quesadilla. I always go with a lamb curry and it was also delicious. Friendly service from Pandey! I came two days in a row and was met with a handshake and a thank you on my return. I and my wife decided to try this restaurant because we'd never eaten Nepali cuisine before. We arrived near dinnertime but not many people were there. The ambiance was decent and the waitstaff was both friendly and attentive, and we didn't need to wait too long before receiving our dinner. We split an order of kukhura ko soup, which was absolutely spectacular, and some garlic naan bread, which was wonderfully tasty, and some vegetable Himalayan momos, which were alright and rather interesting but yet not especially memorable unlike the amazing soup. Food: the food taste is good and flavorful but quantity for price/value is terrible. $18 Prawn coconut curry has 4 pieces of shrimp & a ton of soup gravy. $5 for 1 poori before you used to get 2 pieces or at least you do at the SLC location. Not sure if it's inflation or they are just being very stingy. But I was definitely hungry after. For $25 that should not be the case. We just had a shrimp dish in Moab, UT for the same price, same size shrimp, 7-8 pieces. The veggie sample platter for $10 had 1 samosa, 3 tiny onion fritters size of a quarter & a bunch of sliced red onion crumbs. A platter should hold enough to share the variety. It was very mediocre. Service: the staff was in such a rush that they didn't even listen 1/2 the time. We had to ask for refills each every time 3x & flag down. Ambience: comfortable booths, standard Indian restaurant. I ordered online and it said 50 minutes but it was more like 30. I was stuck at gymnastics so I had to wait the full 50 and the food was still warm! The guy who handed me my food was cheerful.
