Garlic naan
Bob K.

This is an unassuming place, that gave us the best Indian meal we've had in a long time. The place was nearly empty when we walked in. We were greeted warmly, and offered complimentary small bowls of vegan lentil soup shortly after sitting. We ordered samosas, which were just the right balance of crispiness with fresh tasting innards. I had a glass of Pinot Grigio for only $8, and for entrees we had shahi paneer and vegetable korma, which we both loved. The spice level was low for The Wife, who has had trouble with that recently. The garlic naan went perfectly with everything else, and we marveled at how empty this place was on a Saturday night. Thank you yo our server Pasang in particular.

The extensive menu contains cuisine from Nepal, Tibet, and India. While waiting for the main course, I enjoyed the small but filling cup of complimentary yellow lentil soup with shredded orange carrot--what a beautiful color combination. A nice first course. The walls are decorated with prints of Himalayan scenes. The head chef was a Sherpa for Everest summiteers (!) and his cousin, Kami Rita Sherpa, holds the record for Everest summits! That's quite amazing for an unassuming restaurant tucked in an outdoor shopping center in Petaluma. The mango lassi was so delectable, I finished it as my 2nd course. I chose Chicken 65-a "must try!" on their menu; delicious. It's marinated and boneless chicken, spices, ginger, garlic, lemon, fresh curry leaves, mustard seeds, and yogurt. My companion selected the Apricot Chicken in coconut curry sauce. Note that the chicken is very well cooked--perhaps pan-seared ? before the scrumptious apricot coconut curry sauce with a few dried apricots is generously dolloped over these chunks of chicken. I selected the garlic basil naan for a very slight up-charge to dip into the apricot coconut curry sauce. I ordered mild medium; the spice was flavorful and well-balanced but not hot. Very sweet and attentive wait staff. Plenty of parking.

Water

The ice water here was incredible. Without having to ask, tall, cold glasses with the perfect amount of ice arrived at our table. Refills kept coming throughout the evening. I recommend.

Years of consistently authentic, fresh, sizzling delicious food. Himalayan/Nepal delight!! Been dining here for years it is always clean, friendly service, and yummy food. Very reasonably priced based on the food portions. Had not been here in almost two years, but it has only improved.

Lamb Boti Kabab

Allu banta was very tasty and on the sweeter side but I like sweet curries. The chicken 65 is labeled as their must try, but to me it was just okay. The lamb boti kabob had huge chunks of meat which was very good. Garlic naan was flaky and crispy, not too heavy. Left very full and satisfied.

Great food. Very delicious Nepalese Indian fare in a decent table service ambiance. Ordered palak paneer and butter chicken. Tasty fluffy naan. Pricey side but had quite a following amongst diverse group of patrons.

Lunch special Chicken Tikka Masala

Just updating that they are still making amazing food, full of flavor, great portions and very friendly service. They have awesome lunch deals.

I grew up in Petaluma and only recently visited this place. Waiting so long was a huge mistake, this place is absolutely delicious! I walked in with my siblings on a Friday afternoon during lunch hour. There was only one other family sitting in the restaurant. We were quickly greeted by our waitress who was also super helpful. We started with an appetizer plate which came with chicken, pakoras, and a samosa! The chicken was a bit dry but the pakoras and samosa were amazing! The sauces that came with them were incredibly flavorful and really elevated the appetizer. We got the lunch specials. I opted for a potato/cauliflower dish and my siblings got chicken dishes (I believe tikka masala and curry). All of our plates came with chana masala and a yellow lentil dish, salad, rice, and naan. The lentil soup was one of the best things I've had. My sister doesn't even like lentils and she devoured them as well. The channa masala was my second favorite. This is my go to dish and Indian restaurants and it was super flavorful. The cauliflower dish was my least favorite. It was too sweet for my liking and I don't know if I would get it again. My siblings both loved how juicy and flavorful their chicken was. The naan was also fluffy, buttery, and delicious. I absolutely loved this place and will definitely be back!!

I had called to see if they would be open on July 4th, and they actually called me a few hours later after checking with the owner and they confirmed, yes they would be open regular hours. We headed over at noon for their buffet lunch. Raj (Raz?), was our amazing server. He definitely raised the bar. He is most positive, friendly and conscientious He keeps an eye on all the diners, removing plates, replacing water for the table with a new chilled bottle, and he keeps a close eye on all the buffet items and communicates with the chef when something needs replenishing. The food is, therefore, hot, fresh and incredibly delicious. The one thing we really appreciated is they offer brown and white rice. We much prefer brown rice so that was another positive along with fresh greens. They provide the table with a huge order of fresh naan bread when you first sit down too. The buffet items were prepared with much love and care and all six of us had the most wonderful meal. The interior is clean and inviting. Our server quickly cleaned tables as soon as a guest left so the place looked orderly and inviting. I give big kudos to our sweet server who played a major role in the five star rating. Outstanding job, Raj and Everest. We will be back soon!

I have to mention the young man (21 years old) Raj, is so polite and professional, he greets you when you enter, comes to your table several times to see if you need anything, a total gentleman. If I had the money, I would back him in anything he wanted to do. Thank you, Greg W.

The buffet menu seems to change, and I usually look forward to their saag paneer, but unfortunately they didn't have it today. We also ordered a garlic naan, which is not included in the buffet and costs extra, but it's definitely worth it. The ambiance is nice, with background music that's not too loud just the right volume. The dining area is clean, and the buffet is well maintained with fresh food being replenished regularly. The service was okay, but not bad either. One thing I really appreciated was how quickly they cleared our empty plates. A huge bonus is the attached Indian market. I always enjoy browsing after our meal, and this time I'm definitely taking some paneer home so I can satisfy my paneer cravings later! Overall, I definitely recommend this place if you're looking for a delicious Indian buffet.

The plain naan at the buffet was hard, rice was also hard, the fruit was super sour and not fresh at all. The butter chicken and veggie pakora were very good and the only items I enjoyed.
