incredible food what a hidden gem this restaurant is!!!!! If only they had a lunch take out special

Amazing lunch buffet and great price! Took me back to my travels in India. A must have if you are looking for authentic delicious food!

We tried the food here, I had been watching to see when it opened. The service was impeccable and the wait staff sincerely wanted our honest feedback. If the lunch buffet crowd wants different kinds of naan bread, go back during dinner when there are plenty of choices. We tried the Kashmiri naan and it was wonderful. Both of our dishes were excellent and flavorful. I later tried Taste of India and by comparison, the Taste of India sucked service wise. The wait staff kept trying to clear the table when it was clear we were not finished eating; and no, the place was not crowed with people waiting. I wanted my dish mild, my friend wanted spicy. The kitchen got the spice mix mixed up. I didn't want to complain, yet I mentioned the mix up and requested yogurt to tamp down the heat. I was brought a tiny portion of "raita," and was charged $4.50 for their mistake. I didn't want the cucumber yogurt salad, I only wanted the yogurt. Three days later I went back to Taste of India with a different friend who had tried Everest with me, to compare. Maybe my first trip was not the best first impression. No, it was the same. Rushed, noncommittal service with no recognition I had just recently been there and the customer count was equally low. The staff actually act as if you are inconveniencing them by being there. My friend didn't think the flavors were as good as Everest. I liked the friendliness and customer service at Everest. I'll stick with Everest where my presence is appreciated. I'm glad they finally opened but don't understand why they are closed on Tuesdays. read more

The food was amazing! We had the goat curry, samosas and lots of breads. The curry was tender and spiced perfectly. The samosas were tasty and not the slightest but greasy. Breads were homemade and delicious! Portions were generous and service was excellent. We will be back! read more

Chicken in the tikka Masala is dry and tasteless. The sauce tastes weird as well... I wonder how long it's been sitting around.

After going here, I realized how bland and not spicy the buffet is at Taste of India. The chili chicken at Everest has what I would consider medium spiciness - enough for a burn but not so spicy that you can't go back for another plate. It's perfect. The mint chutney has a good amount of spiciness as well. The staff is very polite. read more

This is by far the best restaurant in town! The food is always so delicious and has the best flavors. The service has been great every time we go in. Everyone is very friendly and attentive. We did takeout this evening and it was prepared just as well as sit down, also the food was very hot. I definitely recommend this place for an amazing meal. read more

Since I'm the first to review I'm giving them 4 stars to get them off on the right foot. I'd probably say it was more like a 3.5. I had the lunch buffet. It's a little hard for me to say how good it was because I mostly ate the butter chicken and chili chicken and I don't usually order those. I'm going to compare Everest to Taste of India. On the plus side, they told me they change their options for the buffet out. Taste of India has pretty much the same stuff every day. Another plus for Everest is that the chili chicken actually had a little bit of spice to it. Taste of India buffet food is usually very bland (but tasty). For negatives, they only had one kind of naan and I think the number of buffet options was also a bit less than Taste of India. Food quality was good but it's hard for me to say on flavor. Taste wise it had a slightly different flavor than other Indian food I've eaten. Not bad but not what I'm used to. Not sure if it's a regional thing or different style of cooking but I didn't care for it as much as other Indian places I've eaten at. Service was good and the inside is very nice. All in all, if you're a fan of Indian food and live in Winchester, I'd say give it a try. If you're only in town for a day and just want Indian food, go to Taste of India or Sona (which is good but a bit pricier). read more

This place was great. Incredibly clean and fancy, food was all delicious which is unusual for a buffet, and the waiters were really attentive but not intrusive. I am so happy that my wife and I have a go-to place for Indian food now. Definitely try this place and you won't regret it. read more

I can't say enough good things about this restaurant. I've ordered from Everest many times and their food is always great. The samosas are delicious, the naan is excellent, and I've been happy with every dish I've tried. Not only is the food great, but the staff are always so nice and lovely to deal with. Consistently great Indian food. I have done everything from eating in just me and my husband to doing carry out for 30. Winchester is lucky to have them. Lamb Roganjosh spicy is my husbands favorite and I always get something different. Brought a few friends here that have traveled to Indian too and they gave it the thumbs up!!! The "Coming soon" sign was replaced with "Now open". We stopped in on April 4. Amazing makeover of the space. The greeting was warm and immediate. Great ambiance and elegant table settings. We were presented with a papadam while we looked at the menu. The extensive menu. We don't eat large meals so we opted to share an appetizer of samosas, an entré of tandoori salmon, and some garlic naan. The staff happily accommodated our request. The food was excellent and then some. I give a separate round of applause to the veggies that came with the salmon. The portion was more than enough for both of us. Great restaurant! I always go during buffet and they have a great selection of food, especially vegetarian options. I am also gluten intolerant and the only food containing gluten is the naan. Everything is delicious, and the owner and waiters are always nice. I definitely recommend! read more

First time trying Indian food and I was beyond pleasantly surprised. I got the Garlic Naan and paired it with the Chicken Tikka Masala (Medium) and it was delicious. The sauce was thick and creamy and was perfect to dip my Naan in once I excitedly devoured all the chicken. A fantastic meal that I would highly recommend. Next time I think I'll attempt to brave the Hot and make my way up to the Indian Hot. I look forward to my next meal from Everest. read more

I had read several reviews on Facebook about Everest Indian Restaurant and I was eager to try it. We went last Saturday night, 5/30, and my family and I were very impressed! The service was exemplary! The dishes were hot and extremely delicious (Chicken Tika Masala, Chicken Korma, a goat dish, Aloo Naan, and Garlic Naan). We topped our dinner off with Mango Lassi to drink - yummy!!! We truly loved Everest and will be returning again and again! read more

Great food, great decor, and price is right for a buffet. My experience with Indian food has not been great, though admittedly limited. However, this food seemed authentic, which is really what you want in ethnic food. I'm not a fan of super spicy foods, but this was within my comfort range. read more

The food is rather bland. I've ordered several dishes that lack spice, flavor, and texture. The Kheer had no almonds or raisins that were indicated on the menu. The entrees I ordered lacked the spice and full bodied flavor profile I would anticipate in an Indian dish. The menu is limited, and doesn't compare to Taste of India or my favorite, Sona Restaurant. The prices are lower than other Indian restaurants in Winchester, but I'd rather pay a little more and receive the phenomenal food from Sona. read more
