We met our son and his wife here for an impromptu dinner. Immediately upon entering the dining room the tone is set for an amazing experience! The decor and furnishings are elegant and so warm and welcoming! We were seated immediately. KJ arrived at our table soon after we were seated and upon meeting him we knew we were in the best of hands. He guided us on a culinary adventure we have never experienced in this area! His knowledge and expertise are insurmountable. EVERY suggestion he made for our meal was absolute perfection. I seriously felt I was in London vs Winchester VA! Our Vegetarian Pakora Starters were delicious! The Main Event was exactly as promised! My Husband chose the Chicken Chili, a savory, aromatic celebration! I chose the Chicken Korma, an amazing blend of spices and tender cuts of chicken with a smooth Cashew Base. My Daughter in Law chose the Chicken 65 and it was another explosion of favor with just the right amount of heat. I will definitely have that on a future visit! Lastly my son chose the Lamb Karahi Masala. Melt in your mouth Lamb in the most amazing combination of spices. I don't know why I stopped eating here but the past 2 months we have been ordering takeout and this Indian food is as good as it gets. I worked in an Indian restaurant when I was in high school in NY, a lifetime ago. This is as good as that place which had an excellent reputation and was written up in The NY Times. We are lucky to have Curry Cuisine here in town, blessed really. The poppadom is excellent, naan as well, tonite we had the chicken curry and lamb rogan josh. Exquisite really. Flavors that take you 10,000 miles away from here. This place is attached to a gas station but you wouldn't know it stepping inside as it is quite a pleasantly adorned space. The menu is quite robust as well. I ordered a channa bhatura, and the chickpeas were a sweeter mix of spices than normal, but it worked. The breads were delightfully fluffy and it was a large portion. I got a mulligatawny soup which was fine and came with some little crackers. On top of that, I was given some papadums and chutneys with a little bit of pickled vegetables. A chai was a good compliment . They had a buffet setup, but being able to order off the large menu was a great opportunity. This was a pleasant surprise on our latest road trip. We stopped at a gas station and saw this restaurant next to the station's convenience store. It had great reviews so we gave it a try. The reviews were correct. I had Mulligatawny soup and a vegetarian korma with basmati rice. It was all delicious. My husband also enjoyed his vindaloo. We ordered coffee and dessert, which was a type of carrot pudding. Both were quite good. The service could not have been better. There were several different servers bringing our dishes and chilled water in a large pour bottle. We never had to catch a waiter's eye for something because they were attentive without being intrusive. The ambiance was simple and elegant, though very comfortable. Hopefully, we will pass through this area again. We will definitely have dinner here. read more

We just had a memorable dining experience at Curry Cuisine with a party of about 12 people. The staff was attentive and gracious. Our host had pre-ordered several dishes to give us a lovely selection, and from appetizer to entree to dessert, they were absolutely delicious. We shared the vegetarian sampler. The sauces were great because it gave each item and different sensation on the palate. This is an absolute MUST TRY and new personal favorite! Appetizers- traditional veg samosa to cilantro chili chicken to paneer pakora layered with spice inside and spicy, creamy tomato soup. Main- lamb vindaloo, desi butter chicken and eggplant each perfectly seasoned and authentic with fresh ginger and garlic and chilis. There were mini marinated whole onions in the vindaloo!! Mango lassi flavorful without being too sweet. Fresh salted green mango juice was refreshing and clean. Mango and rice pudding deserts were a delightfully light ending I will be driving from Richmond specifically to eat here! Wonderful meal made my day!!! If I could give more than 5 stars I would! A friend and I had lunch for the first time at Curry Cuisine, and I'm pleased to say it was very good. Got the lunch special which came with an appetizer(got a Samosa) for the entrée I got lamb, curry, it came with basmati rice and condiments and an order of garlic, naan and rice pudding for dessert. My friend got a tandoori fried rice entree and it was 14.50 so my lunch special was a much better deal. Every thing in my special was very good( I would like them to ask what heat level you want I would have gotten it spicier. My friend's fried rice was just so so the chicken was too dry. I'll be back to try the Sunday all you can eat buffet for 21.00...I can eat some Indian food! Do not judge a book by its neighbors... This elegant restaurant is next to a 7/11- I know!! What are the odds! I was mind blown by the decor, furniture and music. We were greeted by the whole staff which made it so welcoming! Our waiter was extremely helpful with the menu because there's so much to choose from!! It was hard to figure out what to eat! We got an appetizer, 3 entrées, 2 orders of naan & 2 drinks plus a complimentary dessert. ALSO If you're looking for SPICE, they have a chili paste that will smack you in the face!! It was sooooo good & so spicy that we had to get some to go! Every dish was made with love & I felt complete. The OWNER KJ even stopped by to introduce himself and we got to know him and his passion for food & the restaurant life! He was very humble and his stories were so intriguing. This restaurant is a welcome addition to the Winchester area. I also love that it is close to our house! We came in having looked over the menu and saw all our favorites and so much more. We had the vegetable pakora and it was amazing. The sauce rack truly compliments the flavors. Then we had the two types of butter chicken. The desi butter chicken offers an onion/garlic base that sets it apart. I loved them both. I'll have to alternate visits! The Naan was perfect. We had the cilantro and the kashmiri naan. I am used to the fruit being chopped into small bits and scattered around. This had more of a cherry jam on it. We liked it very much, but I couldn't make out the other ingredients. It became the dessert. It's pricey ala cart so they offer a package that would have been a great option if we had a large group. Service was fantastic. The team is attentive and wants you to have a positive experience. The servings were as generous as any other restaurant. We did not leave hungry. The atmosphere is very nice. It's clean and table cloths always win me over! We'll definitely return. Please consider planning your 81 road trip around having lunch or dinner here. First time trying their dinner for two. It was WAY more food than the 2 of us could handle. Everything was delicious. We got palak chaat. It was extremely authentic and delicious. For main course I got the butter chicken and my husband got the lamb karma. Both were delicious. The rice, doll and writer were spot on and four breads. We picked the garlic and the onion. It was delightful. We also tried for the first time this beer called woodpecker. Definitely get it. . It was a crisp and light lager. The food here is really good! We love coming here on Sundays, they over an all-you-can eat buffet so that you can try a little bit of everything. The service there along with the owner are always there to make sure you have the best experience. Ate here last night with my girlfriend. Her favorite Indian food in Winchester is Everest, mine is Taste of India. Neither of our minds were changed. I had chicken Korma and she had Tikka Masala. The food wasn't bad but we both found is less flavorful than the other two and the portions were definitely smaller. If you're local and like Indian I'd say give them a try since with Indian food I've found even the same dishes to be slightly (or very) different at different places but I'm sticking with Everest or Taste of India (depending on whose turn it is to choose). read more
