The evening starts with a nice ride on the Ramcharger to the top at Everetts. The food prepared by Chef Jake Irwin was spectacular. The Lamb was cooked to perfection and the Ribeye special was just that. Our server Rachel was wonderful, always smiling and fun to chat with. I've been to Everett's 8800 twice - once for a meal, and once wanting a meal. It's got the best view and ambiance of any eating/drinking place on the mountain, with a killer picture window looking out at Lone Peak with skiers gliding by on the Ramcharger lift. The view could be a poster and probably is. The decor is neo-log cabin with Restoration Hardware trimmings - designer rustic and comfort. The time that I actually ate there the food and drinks were good. It was just burgers and salads as part of intermission from a gorgeous ski day, but the tastes were along the lines of a chic bistro. They have a full bar and good assortment of local beers. My problem with this place is that it's located at the convergence of 3 lifts, which on a ski mountain means there's a typical rush between 11:30 and 2:00 when everybody wants to stop to eat and drink. But the place is too small to accommodate the number of folks who need a place like this, so both times that I've stopped at Everett's have been nightmares - no seats available. The first time there was a 90 minute wait, which meant that we could have lunch at 2:00 or 2:30 PM. That might work if I were shopping along Fifth Avenue, or could wander the mall for a bit, but when you're skiing and it's time to refuel, handling that type of wait doesn't work. Luckily, the host saw that there was a bar table for two that was clearing and there wasn't another party that could use it at the moment so he told us if we could eat in 30 minutes we could grab that spot. Even though we had to rush it was doable because we wanted to get back out anyway. This last trip I thought that our party of 3 might have a better shot at 1:30, hoping that most folks were finishing up and we might catch an open table. No such luck! It was even crazier than the last visit. This time all the tables were booked until 4:00, and when I inquired about making a reservation for the next day was told that there was only one opening at 3:30 PM. The food and ambiance is nice and everything, but I'm not going to make reservations days in advance for a 3:00 PM lunch time while I'm skiing. That just doesn't work. read more

First day was a mid 30's January bluebird and we grabbed beers from the bar and soaked in some sun outside, second day was colder and dusting so we cozied up by fire on the patio before skiing down silverknife to our place for the week. Great place for respite midday while on the mountain. The style of the building reminds me of those I have seen snowboarding in Austria. Very classy and upscale place (which comes with a price tag to match), but it is worth it for the ambiance, food, and service. Had to wait for a spot at the bar, but it wasn't too long. If you want something better than the usual cafeteria experience, definitely stop here. They have an outdoor fireplace and sitting area, but it wasn't open while I was here. However, when that area is open it looks like a great spot to hang out and enjoy the scenery! read more

OMG THE ELK CHILI! Talk about excellent food. Started off with the elk chili which I can only describe as remarkable. For my main dish I had the burger and curly fries. The burger was good but I wouldn't describe it as anything special. The cup of chili was more of the size of a bowl so if you order a bowl it will be probably be pretty large. The chili is also very filling so I would recommend getting a bowl for your main dish. read more

It is such a disappointment when a restaurant has all the ingredients to be great and just does not fulfill its promise. Everett's 8800 is in a very cool spot-you take the chair lift to get there, and the building is beautiful. The prices are very high, so we thought, despite the choices on the menu, that the chef would be able to make some adjustments for the pescatarian and the vegetarian in our party. Not so. (We had even called ahead to ask if this would be possible.) I ordered a dish (fish) and requested the the meat be left off. There were small pieces of BACON throughout. Waiter shrugged and thanked me for letting him know... The vegetarian ordered a salad with falafel (the ONLY veg. option), 15 minutes later the waiter apologized for being out of falafel and offered bland steamed vegetables. The dessert I ordered was also unavailable. This is even though it was only 6 pm. Sadly not worth the price... read more

What a fantastic restaurant. We dined there last week with some friends and I had the AMAZING prime rib bison suggested by our server Kalan. Both the food and the service were spectacular. The scenery gets 5 stars but the server Adam couldn't even tell you which beer was which, didn't know the menu or mountain as he insisted that the tram closed at 4 and not 2:30 causing us to miss going to the top, the reason for coming. I am giving 3 stars because of the ambiance and the fun rides up and down. No stars for service and maybe 2 stars for food. Our waiter was attentive & tried but he screwed up our order and never ordered my drink, appetizer, or entree . After he served the other 5 people at our table I had to flag him down to get my order which he hadn't written down. We returned the soup du jour because it was horrible, as was the crab appetizer . The fish ( not fresh? Couldn't eat it) wasn't so great either but of course we are in Montana. The kids menu wasn't kid friendly , not a lot of little kids will order steak or shrimp. Pasta would have been an easy offering. The steak dinners were better & the chocolate chip ice cream sandwich was delicious. read more

We had the most amazing experience today....our favorite dish was no longer on the menu (Burrata/Caprese). The food and beverage manger (Collin) did not hesitate to take a ski lift down (#aboveandveyondservice) to another sister restaurant to get some burrata and fulfill our request!!! We were excited for our dinner here. The rides to and from the restaurant were fun and the restaurant is beautiful. However, the dinner was very expensive and the food was not good. Everything was under seasoned. My two filet medallions ordered medium rare came with different doneness, one medium well and the other well done. The server was friendly about having the kitchen remake the well done piece. The sea bass was also not very flavorful. We had sabayon for dessert and it tasted burned and was grainy. Overall a disappointing experience that I can not recommend for dinner. read more

Meh. Overpriced ski resort food. You come here for the location and atmosphere. You don't come here for the food. Nothing is better than having a nice drink sitting on the deck on the couch next to the fireplace in the sunshine but don't expect much from the food or service. Everyone is very nice but it gets really busy and I think they are understaffed so I try to be understanding. Just don't expect a quick in and out lunch. It'll be much longer than that. This was by far the worst experience I have ever had in any restaurant!! The ONLY thing Everett's has going for them is the view which is spectacular! The $59 T-Bone was raw on one side and over cooked on the other( go figure), salmon over cooked and the Caesar salad didn't taste like a Caesar salad at all! We arrived before the restaurant got busy because we were with a 3 yr old and were the last to get served. Our waiter was clueless and totally needed training! The prices are outrageous BUT, if they want to charge these prices, they need a NEW CREW in the kitchen and train the help! VERY DISORGANIZED! Gorgeous setting at high elevation and well appointed with clean restrooms and cubbies for helmets and ski gear. Food and drinks were good. Service was friendly but SLOW. We had the crazy Ivan coffee drink that was delicious and the the open faced grilled cheese with fries was ridiculous. The service was a bit of a bummer but i think the slow speed was largely due to the fact that this is the only restaurant on the mountain and less to do with the skills and attentiveness of the staff. read more

Service and food didn't match the view....Everett's has always been our favorite treat for lunch break while skiing Big Sky. But this year we were disappointed with the food and the service. The "grilled cheese" was more like Poutine with an over abundance of cheese. When we asked about it we were told we "are wrong" I had a good veggie burger and we enjoyed the arugula salad. Food was simply not good. Not even ok, not good. I get that it's a ski resort, but For $18-20 per entree you'd think they could at least attempt to give you somewhat decent food. Given the limited food choices in the resort, and the fact they all are not good, it makes me wonder why I would ever consider coming back to Big Sky. read more

So disappointed in how the experience when from wonderful to terrible. My family decided to pick this as our "splurge night" to end our vacation. The decor of the restaurant is beautiful and the service was very good. Things unfortunately turned about 1am when I became violently ill. I believe the trout I had gave my food poising. My family and I had pretty much eaten the same breakfast and lunch. We all had different meals at dinner. I was the only one who had the tour and the only one who got sick. I have never been this sick in my life and it lasted through the next day. I could not get out of bed and missed the last day of skiing with my family. So not only did we drop over $350 on dinner I also lost out on my $160 lift ticket. I did call the restaurant manager the next day. He was sympathetic, but insisted it was not the food (I don't know how it could have not been ). He asked me to email him and he would "talk to accounting " so see if he could "do something " to compensate me. He responded once and said he still needed to check with accounting and then nothing. Radio silence after 3 weeks. I did check back twice with no response. Empty promises is not the way to run a high end restaurant. read more

We chair-lifted up a bit after eight pm for a drink and a light snack midweek. Menu looked delicious. But, because we weren't too hungry, my friend and I ordered drinks and an appetizer, one new for us to enjoy. Unfortunately, it was not at all to our liking (but I'm sure others love it!), and so we left it pretty much untouched. Our friendly bar server was observant and inquired. How nice! We were not charged for the food. The restaurant is "beam"ingly awesome; the staff is friendly; and the views coming and going via the 8-seated heated chairlift are breathlessly unique. Because of this, we decided to end our wonderful vacation week with drinks and desserts at Everett's 8800...at the same time as the first night, a bit after eight. Only on this particular night- because the resort was hosting SnoBar near the lift-the area was a bit more populated. Friends were already there enjoying drinks waiting for us to join them. The young lift worker would not allow us up the lift. "You need a reservation." I told the worker that I was told that for drinks we did not. I asked this young man to call the restaurant. He said he did but my gut told me otherwise; I called Everett's myself. The woman who answered my call informed the manager on duty that night of the worker not allowing us up the lift. The manager replied, "Come on up. Tell the operator to let you up." However, despite making the lift operator cognizant of the manager's message, the lift worker stated, "This is MY lift. I will not let you up." (I believe Everett's 8800 pays Big Sky for the lift to remain open for customers.). Then it turned worse. This young worker told me (a 65 year young person who has at most one drink when out) that I was inebriated!!!! Our last night celebration was totally halted by this worker. We did NOT get to meetup with our group of friends; we did NOT get to enjoy a dessert; we did NOT get to celebrate with an end-to-our-vacation celebration cocktail; and we did NOT get to have one last view of the mountains at night from one of our favorite chairlifts. A very bitter taste was left with us. I wonder how successful Everett's 8800 will be with night reservations with such service getting to their restaurant. If you plan to enjoy Everett's 8800 ambience and menu, call Big Sky first to ensure their lift operator will let you chairlift up or you'll be quite disappointed as we were. 406 995 5853 read more

Prices are high but not outrageous, and you do get an amazing view of Lone Peak in the background. Nice atmosphere but just OK food. The bread floating in the onion soup was so hard that we could barely break the crust with our spoon after it had been soaking in the broth though the broth was very tasty. The Rosti came out with blackened onions and bacon. The ravioli are generously filled with meat but the meat chunks are the wrong size to cut into the delicate ravioli to eat. Plus, the dense filling doesn't seem to get warm in the cooking process. We sent the first order back because the ravioli were underdone and the meat cold. The replacement dish was still not hot. As far as filling and sauce flavor, it was fairly bland. The $60 on lunch was not worth eat and the amount of fat we consumed just weighed us down for the rest of the day. read more

Best grilled cheese I have ever had! It is a bit pricey but worth it for the beautiful views (plus what do you expect at a ski resort). Only drawback is that seating is limited and it seems like reservations are probably needed on busy ski days. We were lucky to get a seat at the bar but a group that arrived right after us had to wait for a seat. Despite those negatives I will definitely return since the food here was the highlight of my ski trip! read more

I have been to big sky twice and always stop at Everett's for a noon drink. If the restaurant were not located in such a spectacular location there is absolutely no reason to go. The service there is some of the worst that I have had in a ski resort which the bar is already set pretty low given the transient nature of employment in ski towns. I was there last week went inside to order at 1145 it took 10 min to put a drink order in and the surly bartender who looked stoned took my order then starting making a bunch of drink orders after mine I had to get the manager to get our drinks which were just simple draft beers. We went outside and sat at our usual spot at the fireplace. It was a perfect bluebird day and the fire was not started. No staff were around to help so we just started it ourselves. The patio is amazing and has some of the best views of any ski resort for apres/drinks in North America. There are no staff to take your orders. We went over to order from the grill which hadn't even been fired up yet and it was after 1230. it took another 45 to get our food at the grill. All we ordered were three hot dogs. What ski resort fires up the grill after 1230 for lunch? Luckily for us the view/atmosphere is too good not to stop there. The management does not understand they are sitting on a potential gold mine. There should be servers on the patio and they should fire up the grill around 11ish. There should also be a drink stand where you can grab beers out of a cooler and pay quick rather than wait for over 20 min outside to put in an order at the grill. This place could be rocking for sure if they change the operations/service. If you are running a mid mountain restaurant then the idea is guests want quick service so they can get back on the mountain. I love big sky and I am sure I will back to Everett's but please fix the service!!! read more

We visit every year and look forward to dining at Everette's! Our family's favorites include the grilled cheese, french onion soup, and the elk chili (TO DIE FOR). The service this year has been speedy. LOVE the layout- with couches and pillows, it makes for a comfortable break from the slopes. Only complaint is it tends to get a little chilly unless you get a spot next to the fire. read more
