I had a pretty disappointing experience here. We ordered appetizers, but they didn't come out until the same time as our entrees, which kind of defeats the purpose. My daughter and I both ordered fried chicken sandwiches, and unfortunately, both were seriously overcooked--like "bottom of the fryer" overdone. The chicken only covered about half the bun and quickly became inedible. We actually had to swap sandwiches just to see if one was any better, but neither improved. Between the two of us, we could only get through about half of one and maybe a third of the other before it just wasn't worth trying to eat anymore. I mentioned it to our waitress in a calm, straightforward way and told her both sandwiches were inedible. She did offer to have them remade, but after seeing what came out the first time, we declined. I don't recall receiving an apology, which was disappointing. What really stood out was that the issue was never addressed beyond that--no follow-up, no adjustment to the bill, nothing. I didn't ask for anything to be taken off, but when a significant portion of the meal can't be eaten, you'd expect some effort to make it right. Coming from someone who works in customer service, this felt like a miss on both food quality and basic service recovery. I wouldn't recommend the chicken sandwich, and I'd be cautious about expecting attentive service here. read more

I'm never disappointed when I go to the Getaway for lunch. I got my go to sandwich the Turkey Club. During lunch on weekdays they gave certain lunch special sandwiches which are $9.99 that come with either seasoned fries-yummy, a salad or soup. The portions are big so I also have dinner this evening. Our waitress was excellent! She is a gem. She's a people person who gives excellent service. I love the new look of the Getaway. Went to the Getaway Bar for the first time around 5pm on a Tuesday. It was empty! I was shocked. When you walk in, there is an area to the left to get beers to go. The restaurant is on the right. We seated ourselves and the staff came over immediately. They were so friendly and knowledgeable regarding the menu items. I ordered the Big Sky Burger well done. It was DELICIOUS! I would definitely order that again. My friend ordered the wontons and said they were really good. By the time we left after 7, the place was starting to fill up. They had a big parking lot so no issues with parking. I cant wait to come back and try more items from the menu! read more

Stopped in for happy hour with a friend on a Friday. The spot is great. We ordered appetizers as they are half off for happy hour, and they came out of the kitchen before we knew it. It's nice that their drinks are also half off for happy hour. I tried the pretzels, Cuban egg rolls, nachos, Texas fries, spinach, and mushroom quesadilla, and topped it off with a fat heads beer. I wasn't a huge fan of the quesadilla, there wasn't a lot of cheese and just giant hunks of mushrooms, but it was still ok. Local watering hole alert! We moved to the area in March... I think we have eaten at the Getaway 5 or 6 times in the last couple of months, and we will continue to eat there. For meal the BBQ boneless wings hit the spot when I have the craving and for me lady the veg head, Mac and cheese pay extra for the pretzel stick - hits the spot every time. Drove 20 minutes to try the burgers here because I had read good reviews. I was not disappointed. My wife and I split the Big Sky and French Onion burgers, and they were great. We requested medium, and they were cooked perfectly. Good size and very juicy, with a nice chargrilled flavor. We tried both the regular fries and the quite unique scoop fries. Both were really good. This place looks like an old bar at the end of a small strip mall, which might steer some people away, but it's very clean inside and has a fresh and open feel, split between a bar area (with high-top tables) and restaurant area (with tables and booths). Our waitress was very sweet and as attentive as possible but was the only person covering the bar and restaurant during lunch. Not a major issue though. My understanding is that establishment is around 60 years old, but new ownership took over post-COVID and revamped things. The menu is awesome. I can't wait to go back! read more

I love this place, i drive 45 mins friday nights for the bar trivia which is alot of fun, great kind servers, and the owner/chef seems nice... I've always had great service and i like the changing specialty beer menu. I've had the fish before during lent it was fantastic. I've recently had the po boy and it was pretty meh... the shrimp isn't that good and there isn't enough/ more so it's very small shrimp, then again I'm spoiled because the po boys down in New Orleans are incomparable. The Texas fries are amazing they have a bbq sauce and brisket and beer cheese, they are not ur average fries, they are a combination of like a potato wedge and a hand cut French fry they are very unique but excellent, prob my fav place to get fries!!! The pretzel sticks, Cuban wontons and cheese curds are all excellent. The chicken sandwich is good standard sandwich at a bar but it's good that's not downplaying it... The Pittsburgh steak melt is excellent ask for extra sauce tho.. The French onion dog is amazing also just prepare for heartburn...
