    BBQ Platter Onion Rings

Solid place for bbq with some of the best sauces I've ever had! Some great options like the tacos and all the burgers, but I wanted the real bbq meats so the platter was a great deal. The smoked chicken and brisket were a little cold but wow they were delicious. The texture was so soft, and the barbecue sauces (I got the Carolina and spicy one) were some of the best I've ever had! Onion rings were also nice and crispy, but the Mac and cheese was a miss for me. Not very flavorful and I prefer a less congealed texture, plus a little small in portion too. The fries have great seasoning on them, definitely go for that instead. Overall, loved the meats and the sauces, classic dive bar atmosphere with friendly staff ready to give any recommendation, and the smoker out front truly shows their credentials!

Porkys has been a staple for us for years. They have really great bar food and all of the things they smoke are great (meats, wings). They have a really large menu and everything is reasonably priced.

Great atmosphere and decor. Pittsburgh bar style. Staff is always wonderful. Food is always good. This is also the same place no matter the outside temperature of you drive by early in the morning the smoker is smoking. The only down side is sometimes when it's cold outside it's chilly inside.

Grabbed some food for pick up and I wish I would've eaten in! A traditional bar with a very cozy vibe, the staff made me feel right at home while I waited for my order. The burnt end Mac and cheese was PHENOMENAL, I cannot wait to go back and eat in! My friend absolutely enjoyed her tacos, I barely got a picture before she finished them.

Cool bar , excellent barbecue food. I will update this review when when I've had more than one experience !

Been here many, many, many times and have not indeed been disappointed. Lots of my friends bands have played here so I've attended their shows. Other times for dinner. They put a lot of thought into the menu. Everything just always has so much flavor. Portions are large and enough for two meals. Lots of great beer choices too.

Food was delicious. Drinks were amazing. Ambiance wasn't our preferred way to spend an afternoon. Service was good and attentive. Greeted at the door by bouncer asking if we were there to eat or for the band. We were just going to eat so no cover charge. That day they had a metal band playing. But it's a small place and everyone listened to the band.

Arguably the best barbecue in the city. Stepping inside, the place is a small local bar but the food just blows you away. Their smoked kielbasa, wings, and burnt ends are unbelievable. We've tried almost all their sauces and each one is delicious. I tried the cornbread this time and it was amazing, they had a honey butter on top and had jalapeños cooked into it--incredible! Everyone is so fast and attentive, they treat you like a regular as soon as you walk in.

I come to Pittsburgh (Etna/Shaler/Millvale area) at least twice a year. Every time I visit Porky's. I grew up in Shaler and this is the place to be. Delicious food, awesome service, live bands, and just a great atmosphere. Fiona has been our server/ bartender a few times. She's great. Honestly she was there for us through the good times and the not so great, but made them better. Thank you for having a consistently awesome hometown, Pittsburgh, bar. We love Porky's!

BBQ pulled chicken, kielbasa, fries and mac and cheese

We got: -Hamburger with fries - Loaded fries - Double fried wings - BBQ platter - kielbasa, fries, mac and cheese and pulled chicken The person I was with liked the burger. The fries are salty but without salt, they are legitimately good enough to be eaten plain. They remind me of old Rally's style fries with lots of breading. Easily one of the best fries in Pittsburgh. The wings were just normal wings but they were great. They were a nice size and they didn't overdo it with the sauce. The pricing is very reasonable as you can get a dozen for only $13. As for the BBQ platter, it wasn't anything special. The kielbasa was honestly less flavorful than what I make at home. The pulled chicken is ripped up into smaller pieces and it just doesn't have a juicy taste to it. I did not like the mac and cheese as the cheese had an odd tang to it. This place is very small and the service is slow. They can really only make a few things at a time and it took well over 20 minutes just to get fries. I do not recommend coming here if you are short on time. We also went on a day when there weren't a lot of people there and I would imagine you would be waiting hours on a day when it is packed. This place is also notable in that it is a BBQ place yet does not have ribs. It makes no sense. I wouldn't really come back unless I wanted cheaper wings and I would not order anything BBQ related.

    Fantastic food and greatt service!

Maybe a few people at the bar and a couple of tables. We ordered nachos, burger, and a gyro. We waited over nearly 90 minutes for food. Every time we asked we were told the nacho cheese needed to be heated up. Funny that when the food arrived, the cheese on nachos was cold? The server/owner/whoever didn't seem concerned when I mentioned the time. If you want to have a beer, fine. If you have any desire to get your moneys worth buying any type of food, skip it. There are so many better options on Butler St. that serve the same beer with better service and food and/or food trucks who will be mindful of your order. Sad.

We got a few beers and started with nachos. The nachos were good, a bit pricey, but good. We didn't love the beer cheese so I wouldn't start with this again. Their menu has a lot so no concerns. We decided to get their Yinser Cheesesteak and I would get it again. It was big, the cheesesteak was very good (slightly on the sweet side). The only way to improve this meal is grill the bun but that is preference. We got here and no one was here but by the time we left there was 20 or more. The bartender was great: super friendly and he was a great guide. The place was slightly loud in the main room but they have a lot of space to spread out; there are other areas you can go to for large groups or groups that want a quieter environment. The key...I WILL BE HERE AGAIN.

My girl friends and I came after four years of me wanting to come here. I love Gravel Grinder and live close to an OTB so heard of Dancing Gnome from that. Finally made our way there and well, make sure you do not bring young kids. My friend had an 18 month old with us and as she was BUYING a beer from them, the guy who worked there asked if she "could keep the screaming to a minimum." An eighteen month old!!! And Mother's Day is tomorrow, nice. He said that they had to draw a line somewhere and he wasn't kidding. The 18 month old was not running around screaming crying all day. We were outside having the kids play and when my friend was buying a beer he got a bit fussy and was told to keep it to a minimum. Needless to say, we will NOT be coming back. If you have small children, I would not suggest this place. Super disappointing. I've always hyped their beer and place up and now I can't support it. We ended up going to Grist House and it was a WAY better vibe and WAY busier...I wonder why. I should have known when their sign said no dogs allowed.

They had a heated rooftop and DJ at the bottom. There were two bartenders working when I went. At the front, they had a wheel you could spin for $8 for a randomized drink. They also do trivia on Tuesday I believe. I got the curry poutine fries, which I've gotten from another restaurant before and they were amazing. I think this place puts a lot of sauce and cheese on but I think it would taste better if it had the curry on the bottom and had crispy fries to delay the time they get soggy. It was topped with green onions which was nice and a good fresh flavor addition. It's a huge platter of fries for $16 though - great to share for a group.
