Way overpriced....8 dollars for a can of anchovies...better place down the street . Turned into a tourist trap

Very small store but don't let that fool you as it is packed with Italian specialties. We ventured in as the Italian market we usual frequent was closed. This market did not disappoint. Staff were friendly and helpful. We got a chance to sample several of the cheeses which were delicious. Looking forward to getting my staples home to fix an amazing Sunday dinner.

Very small placed packed with huge flavor. Exactly what I needed in an Italian deli. They have both deli and charcuterie meats and cheeses. Every type of topping and pairing imaginable. We got a loaf of bread, some genoa salami, hot capicola, hot peppers, and anise pizzelles. The service was very efficient and friendly.

This place is fantastic and has everything you need if you like some cheese. I love the feel and atmosphere.

Come here if you love cheese. Pros: - They were sticklers about wearing masks, an older lady walked in without a mask and was immediately asked to put one on. - They offered samplers of pretty much everything, they ask you to quickly slip the piece under your mask. - Huge assortment of cheese and dried meats - Friendly staff, listened to our preferences of what cheese we liked and recommended a few to try that were similar Cons: - easy to spend money, we bought everything we tasted lol - smaller space, can't imagine foot traffic during peak times and people trying out samplers right bumping into you. Overheard a lady said she wanted to step outside since she didn't feel safe during covid, which I completely get

Picked up a pre-made turkey Cobb salad from here for lunch. The salad was delicious and the ingredients were fresh. The meats and cheeses are the best from here. I also enjoy the rosemary artisan crackers. There are also Tuesday crab cakes for $11.99 each! Cakes are also available. Perks if you are a healthcare worker as they give 10% off your order when they see your badge!

Loved this smaller Di Bruno's right in the Italian market! Even though we didn't know what exactly we wanted, the cheesemongers (new word learned there) created a fun experience for us recommending & letting us sample different cheese until we were happy with our selections. We chose Brabrander Goat Gouda and Alta Langha Robiola Bosina that was perfect with some wine we got at the corner shop down the street for our picnic by the Schuylkill!

Had my first experience with Di Bruno Bros. during the Italian Market Festival, so the menu was not their usual full selection. I had the meatball sandwich, that was almost more like a meatball pocket, which made for a great street bite. One of the employees checked in on how my friend and I liked our selections and explained they were planning to try out these items in some of their other locations soon.

Ask the Community - Di Bruno Bros.

How does the DBB in the Franklin at 834 Chestnut St compare to the 1730 Chestnut St and 9th St locations in terms size and what they offer? I live .5 miles from all 3 and want to maximize my shopping w/o hopping from one to the other to the other...

I've found 1730 to have the largest selection. They have the most already prepared foods. However they all have the same quality. 9th street has two separate store fronts. One for the wine and one for the meats and cheeses.

I mean... where to begin?…read more DiBruno Brothers is an institution in Philly that lives up to the hype. Amazing boutique foods, cheeses, butcher shops, funky coffees, sandwiches and more. The staff is super knowledgeable and helpful, and the hustle and bustle of the place makes it feel like an experience. The store doesn't waste an inch of space, so be prepared to literally have to look high and low for what you need, but you'll find gems along the journey.

We walked in for a late lunch and were overwhelmed by all our options. There's also a butcher's shop if you want fresh meats, and a designated cafe section for beverages and pastries to go. I chose an eggplant sandwich, which was thinly sliced, breaded, and fried, with mozzarella, and artichokes. The sandwich itself was so filling. The chips and pickle were an added bonus. They heated it for us before we went upstairs to eat. There's a quieter section with more ambiance upstairs, so we enjoyed the ac while we ate. I came back a few days later for a strawberry shortcake, and it was worth the trip. I love cake, so the miniature options were appealing and practical. Most of the cakes range from $12-30..Which is not a bad price for how much you get!

This is not a typical cheese "shop" because it is a cheese wholesaler. So, how did I end up being…read moreable to review this place without buying enough cheese to feed 10-100 people? Well, I bought cheese for 100 people because I felt like it (lol). If you are one of the few avid readers of my reviews, you probably know that TooGoodToGo is what I used. This is a hard deal to get and make time for. I have been to High Fidelity and 20th St. Pizza, which uses this cheese. Why would Bandit use TooGoodToGo? More like why not. In keeping in line with vegan ideals and sustainability, minimizing waste and allowing others a chance to get a good deal on a quality product is a winner in my book. I wouldn't be surprised if this was a one man operation but a damn good one. A man who I picked up my cheese from seemed to match up with the picture of the owner on the website. A cooler with cheeses for the many people who ordered. I only could buy one when I saw this pop up. It really is out of my way and I don't have a lot of time to get this deal. It is also not offered often. So it was nice to get in on this. When you pick up cheese, you meet outside Persimmon coffee. So, the wholesaler room, wherever it is, is off limits unless you want to buy cheese for 100 people. Then maybe not haha. This or multiple places in the Bok building would be a nice place to have a Yelp Elite event. Their website shows that they used to be called Conscious Cultures. A name I like more. The name, Bandit, makes it feel like the company ran away from a grassroots environment to a more official brand. Kind of like Katy Perry's The One That Got Away but with cheese instead (rolls eyes at appropriately bad, cheesy reference). The idea that this is kind of hard to get as a deal but feasible feels like that secret that any foodie has gotta experience. It seems you can get this cheese at its regular prices at Di Bruno's and a few other local markets in (Hockessin, Skippack) co-ops, and restaurants. Say, Merzbacher's and Bandit collab at future wine events?

We ordered a variety pack, and would be hard pressed to name our favorites, but we will try as they are all so delicious. Some notable cheeses are the Zaatar, pimento, and down the shore. And know this - the customer service is above and beyond! Great company.

Orders are placed through self-service kiosks, and you wait for your name to be called when your food is ready. They also have a full bar, which is a nice bonus. The reason I deducted a star was the service. There were several dirty tables when I arrived, and despite asking multiple times for one to be cleaned, I was told there was only one server working. After waiting about 15 minutes, I started wiping down the table myself, and only then did someone come over to help.
