This is my 2nd time going to Taste & it was just as good as the first time. It takes long but it's because it's made to order & both times I've been there's a pretty good amount of people. Everyone was nice, there's seating outside & inside. It was extremely hot inside tho. We ordered a beef cheesesteak, a chicken cheesesteak, lemon pepper wings & fries. Everything was good. I would recommend.

I really wanted to enjoy this place, but unfortunately I would not recommend it based on my experience! Give it two stars because this place has potential. The place was very small, crowded, & muggy so we sat outside! The wait was long but understandable for a Friday night! The staff were nice just busy! The cheesesteak was huge and filling but lacked flavored! Honestly had better. Lastly, Rats ran to the table behind us , the waitress took forever with our check , and told us this the time they come out!

I'm not a cheesesteak girl, so I was excited to try a salmon cheesesteak. Unfortunately the salmon wasn't seasoned enough and the sandwich tasted dry. The only way I could enjoy it was to bite into the spine of the bread, where most of the mayo was, but I discarded the rest. My colleague loved the oxtail cheesesteak.

Visited Taste will on a guys trip and looking for a unique experience. The inside vibe was great with a blend of music and sports. The wait was a little long, but the food was worth it. The Oxtail cheese steak was a twist on the traditional cheese steak and paired with fries. Truly enough to share with a partner if you aren't a big eater.

This 4 stars is strictly for the oxtail cheesesteak! That thing was phenomenal! We were told about this place by the Uber driver that took us from the airport. Im always asking what the best cheesesteak is when in Philly and he mentioned Taste. I looked it up and saw oxtail cheesesteak and already know I was going. It was a 3 min walk from our hotel, The Sonesta. Dropped the bags in the room and walked on over for a late lunch around 2pm. Inside of the joint was packed but there was seating outside in a space the restaurant shares with other establishments. Its not a huge place. We sat outside after we ordered and I believe they had one guy working which is crazy as they had to know Roots Picnic was that same weekend. The guy was nice but he was very slow in terms of getting things out to us. I didnt hold it against him as he mentioned it was just him. Get that kid some help!!!! The cheesesteak came and Im glad me and my homie decided to split it as its a big sandwich! Got a side of fries with it. This was the best cheesesteak I ever had by far!!! Ordered some sort of punch and it was sweet as hell and just not very good. We both struggled to finish it. Drinks came damn near when the food was gone and we waited maybe 25-30 mins for the food to come out...insane! Another cool thing that happened was Meek Mill, Gillie & Wallo pulled up and sent one of their guys in to order for them. They even hung out front on the street for quite awhile. Would come back but would know what to expect!

10/10! My salmon cheesesteak was amazing. It came with a sweet chili sauce on the side that added the perfect little kick. The portion was so generous that I had to save half for later--and it was just as good the next day. I visited on a Saturday night, so the wait was pretty long. To their credit, they let us know upfront that there was only one server working that night. We weren't in a rush so the long wait didn't bother us. I did take away a star for having one server available though. The takeout line never seemed to end, which tells me this is a very popular spot. The dining area is small, but there are a few outdoor tables available. This was my first visit, so I'll be sure to try again to see if the wait is a normal thing. One thing to note: gratuity is automatically added to all checks.

Still a delicious cheesesteak and my go to when I'm in Philly. Atmosphere is urban, but civilized. It would be great if the location was bigger with more seating. I will return and highly recommend this establishment.

Taste Cheesesteak Bar has become a favorite spot for a salmon cheesesteak fix! First, parking is very difficult to find, but with patience, it is possible lol. Once you walk in, it's a no-frills, smaller spot. I like their logo! It always appears clean. You're greeted with the option to use the take-out screen to place your order, or one of the friendly employees will ask if you want to sit at the bar or at the high-top chairs, which we chose. On our most recent visit, we went for our favorite, their salmon cheesesteak. It's so HUGE that we share it and order separate fries. Even half of the cheesesteak is still a big portion that we didn't even finish. It's flavorful and cooked perfectly! Ugh! I can't wait to have it again! They have happy hour, and I got a drink that came with lights that change colors, which was cool. Our server, I believe her name was Mylisha, was great and attentive!

The salmon cheesesteak was better than I expected. It was very filling and definitely needed a knife and fork or two big hands to eat. The flavor was fantastic and the sweet chili sauce that came with it made it even better. I will return to try the oxtail cheesesteak. Note: Happy Hour is Monday through Friday from 4-8pm.

Our friends have been raving about this place for a few years now. We tried to visit twice but both times it was really crowded and parking was tough. Our timing this time around was perfect. We had family visiting from out of town and stopped in for lunch. It wasn't crowded, the bartender was friendly. Everything was neat and clean. The ambiance was laid back. I think their cheesesteaks all come with onions, peppers and copper sharp. I was intrigued by the salmon cheesesteak, but ended up going with chicken in a seeded roll and added mushrooms. It was delicious. The chicken was seasoned really well which is rare. Most places barely add salt & pepper. We also ordered the jerk chicken and a regular beef and couldn't resist sharing cheese fries. Everyone loved their food. They also have a happy hour and I had a margarita- which was tasty. We'll definitely be returning!

I've been here twice and I've been satisfied twice. The staff is cool, great spot to be for sporting events. They have high top tables and seating as well as bar seating. The food is full of flavor and it is definitely a spot I will go back too. The cheesesteak is stuffed and flavorful, meats seasoned well and they add good amount of cheese, I'd still say get extra. My favorite thing from here is the jerk chicken fries. Heat, flavor, and the amount you get, you'll have a good nap afterwards.

No healthy options but what can you expect from a cheesesteak bar? LOL We enjoyed the chicken cheesesteak, and jerk salmon steak which were huge portions. The cheese fries were enjoyed also. I really liked that the food and drinks are made in front of you which keeps people honest and clean. Service was great and I would definitely return on a cheat day!

Service: 5 Atmosphere: 3 Cost to worth it rating: 3 Opentableable: no reservations Return worthiness: yes! Eve awards best cheesesteak of my life--still thinking about it Highlights: - The bread: a soft long roll with sesame seeds was a delight I didn't see coming. - Meat: was lightly seasoned but kept its pure flavor. Most cheesesteaks have such bland meat so this did it right - Cheese: melty coopers cheese was perfectly mixed in. - Onions: just the right soloing if grilled onions mixed in to complement the meat but not overwhelm it. - Size: monstrous! You can easily share (but you may not want to). - Fairly efficient: even with long lines, put your phone number in the kiosk, can pay with credit card, and wait til you are texted to pick it up. - For the whole family: my cranky teen son said it's the best thing he ate on our 23 day summer East Coast trip (including lots of great dining spots around Philly and NYC). Lowlights: - Waits can be long and brutal in heat. We got lucky with a shorter line. - No seating: just an ordering counter inside so many are eating out on the sidewalk.

Will keep this as short as possible…read more -The line will look worse than it actually is. It moves quickly. 70-90 people may only take you 15ish min to place your order. -Just get the cheesesteak, skip their other sandwiches. -The cheesesteak is amazing, it just, is. Some of their other food is not worth it. -Once you order, maybe another 10ish min for the food to come out. Absolutely worth it, been here twice now, and will come back over and over.

3.5 stars. Sorry,…read moreguys, this is another WAY overdue review from my 2015 visit before the name change from TONY LUKE'S. Took a short day trip to Philadelphia on Sunday, June 14, and had to try for the first time an authentic Philly cheesesteak sandwich. When in Rome, right? My cousin and family took me here, the original location of TONY LUKE'S, a mainstay for cheesesteaks in South Philly. The street-side sandwich shoppe had a a classic, no-frills neighbourhood stand vibe, featuring walk-up windows for counter-service. The dining room was a weather-protected, four-wall area with outdoor picnic tables. Tony Luke's covered a broad array of Old Philly Style Sandwiches from Roast Beef ($7.25 - $10.25) to Roast Pork ($7.00 - $9.00), Chicken Cutlet ($7.25 - $10.25), Rib-eye Steak ($7.75 - $9.75), Chicken Steak ($7.25 - $9.25), Hoagies ($7.25 - $9.00) to Specialty Sandwiches ($6.00 - $8.00). They also offered Side Orders, Fresh Sautéed Vegetables, Breakfast and Beverages. Accustomed to being served Philly cheesesteak sandwiches with provolone, grilled onion and green peppers in California (which I love), I was surprised to learn that the traditional cheesesteak from Philadelphia is composed of only thinly shaved ribeye steak, griddled quickly, chopped, and topped with lots of cheese (Whiz or otherwise) served on a soft, crusty hoagie roll. We ordered a Cheese Steak ($8.75) as well as a Cheese Steak Hoagie ($9.75), both of which were tightly wrapped long rolls in Tony Luke's wax paper. They were OK, neither knocked my socks off, unfortunately. My search for a mind blowing cheesesteak will continue when I return to Philly.

I was in…read moreChester for a football game, but made some time to stop by both of the city's famous Cheesesteak stands. The Original Pat's King of Steaks is located in South Philly, specifically in the Passyunk Square neighborhood. It sits at the intersection of East Passyunk, South 9th, and Wharton. The building has many different signs and lights that will let you know that you are in the correct place. Since this is in the city, parking can be somewhat tricky. There are times I have had to circle around, or get whomever I was with to drop me off and have them come back. However, sometimes I have secured street parking not too far away. This will just depend on the time of day, and really the luck of the draw, if you are able to easily locate parking. This is an outdoor stand, meaning there is no inside to enter. You will order at the counter, and food is packaged to-go. However, there are some tables surrounding the building that you can dine at. They are all under the roof overhang, so you will be somewhat protected from the elements. On this day, it was not terribly busy. I really did not have to wait in any kind of line before being able to place my order. This was around 4:00 on a Saturday in September. First, I took some time to look over the menu posted near the sidewalk. There is also a helpful guide on "how to order a steak," for those that are unfamiliar. When it was my first time here, I actually found the humorous display very helpful. I placed my order for two classic Cheesesteak Wit, made with Cheez Whiz. When ordering, you specify if you want Wit (with onion) or Wit-Out (no onion). Given that I was wanting to try the most authentic sandwich I could, I opted for the onions and the traditional Cheez Whiz. My sandwiches only took a minute or so to be ready. As stated, it was not busy, and they are able to whip up these sandwiches rather quickly. I ended up taking my sandwiches to-go, and having them for meals the next few days. They reheat well, and have good flavor. I like having the onions on it for an added texture. Pricing is not terrible. Pat's is more expensive than Geno's by $2 for the same sandwich. My total was $36 after tax for the two sandwiches, making them $18 each. You definitely are paying for the experience and the novelty that is coming to this famous corner of Philadelphia. But, this price is not out of the ballpark of other places in the area. The sandwich is a decent size, and you can definitely get two meals out of it if you are eating it by yourself. So, all that considering, it is a fair value for what you pay. It seemed like most menu items were $20 or under. FYI, they take both cash and card. The staff are quick and efficient. However, it will not be the most friendly or pleasant experience, especially if you do not know how to order. I am not saying that the experience was poor by any means, but be aware that this is not Disney World and they will not be overly kind to you at the order window. Being from Pittsburgh, I had never had a true Philadelphia Cheesesteak sandwich until a few years ago when I visited for the first time. Since that trip, I typically make it a point to stop and get a few sandwiches to take back home with me. I enjoy coming to Pat's for the atmosphere, and the true taste of Philadelphia. I recommend giving it a try at least once, just to say you have had it. Plus, the sandwiches are pretty tasty, too. I will definitely be back here on future trips to South Philly.
