I'll start with saying that the waiter and service was phenomenal. I ordered the lunch special Pad Thai and added on the shrimp. The lunch special came with a house salad with a peanut dressing. It was ok. I was not a fan of the dressing and the iceberg lettuce was very crunchy and watery tasting. The Pad Thai was good. Again nothing to write home about. I would have liked a heavier sauce and larger egg pieces or more egg overall. It's a decent lunch spot, not a spot I would rave about or necessarily recommend to someone looking for a Thai spot. This place is so close to one of the places I work, so I finally went in to give it a try, and I am glad that I did. This place really epitomizes service with a smile I decided to have the beef salad and the chicken satay app. They were both excellent. The salad was really light and refreshing, and the satay was tender and flavorful. Definitely a great little spot. read more

While in Pennsylvania, we decided to get Thai for lunch. We didn't dine in. The restaurant got our orders correctly, even with us ordering online. We made special or dietary orders by putting the special requests in the notes. Additionally, you could could a variety levels of hot. That was nice. Unfortunately, I can't say anything about the atmosphere since we didn't dine in, and I was the one who picked up the food. The food was good. I had green beans in my food. It wasn't mentioned on the online menu. I had to pick it out. They didn't put any soy sauce in our bags. But the sauce was plentiful and was enough to cover my rice. I would have enjoyed it more with some soy sauce. I would definitely eat there again if in Pennsylvania. I would love to dine in. Edit I have to take it back that my order was correct. After looking over the menu, I saw that I didn't get what I ordered. I was the only person who ordered food requesting, not carrots. I was supposed to get the dish that was in brown sauce. However, I got a dish in chili sauce with green beans. My food wasn't supposed to have green beans. The dish with chili paste does have green beans. It was pretty dry (the chicken and noodles) but there was a hefty amount of noodles in the dish. They did add a bunch of crushed peanuts as well. One could not expect to find two really good Thai restaurants within a quarter mile of each other. But, here we have it. It was a busy lunch service. The waiters were on it! The kitchen was too. Super fast and delicious. Compared to the Origin, across the street, the room is darker and the seats perhaps a bit more comfortable. The Origin is bright with more relaxing music in the background. The best Thai food on the west end of the Lehigh Valley, and the nicest folks who work there. They have never gotten my order wrong and I haven't had anything bad here. I think their drunken noodles may be my favorite thing to order, and it is money every single time. The seafood and duck entrees are also excellent, and always get yourself a side of the sticky rice! One other item I have to rave about is their Tom Kha, one of the best soups I've ever tasted. It is a little spicy, and a great option for anyone who is sick with a cold in the winter. The only thing I have not tried yet has been dessert because I'm mostly ordering food to-go. Their Thai iced tea is phenomenal and they give a large serving so it's big enough for two to share. We ordered the shrimp basil fried rice and chicken panag curry to share. We did medium heat on these and I'm not someone who can handle that much spice, so medium was plenty spicy for me. If you're sensitive, I would suggest going with mild spice level. The basil fried rice with shrimp is delicious, they use large shrimps and give you big portions so it's plenty to share. Drunken noodles and Thai tea have my stamp of approval as an Asian American. After a long week of fast travel and fast food, this restaurant is just what I needed. Prices are fair, portions are large, and basil is fresh! Classy interior, too, although the soundtrack is a bit like elevator music. Goodness! This was an unexpected find in the Lehigh Valley. I can't call it a hidden gem, as every seat was full and it is obviously a popular spot, but I'd have ended up at a chain restaurant if not for Yelp. I'm so glad we found this place. Located next to a Dunkin Donuts in a half empty strip mall but across from the local Maserati dealership (?!) this small but welcoming restaurant was slammed on Christmas Eve. We were asked if we had called ahead and noticed them setting a table for 8, so felt lucky when they guided us to a table next to the kitchen. A quick order of crispy spring rolls, Thai dumplings, drunken noodles, basil fried rice, and basil stir fry later and we were set. My boy ordered a Thai tea, which was strong and not overly sweet. The appetizers were ok, but small and easy to skip. Our money was better spent on the delicious entrees, which were spiced perfectly and filling enough on their own. The drunken noodles were possibly my favorite. Not too oily and so deliciously garlicky. I also loved my basil fried rice, which satisfied a craving I've had for nearly a month now. I'd eat it again today if it was offered, and wish I lived close enough to make this a regular stop. My boy ordered sticky rice with mango to go, and while the taste was good, the portion of rice was smaller than he would have preferred. Not a shareable size so I didn't get a bite or even a photo- gone too soon! This area is quickly filling with all sorts of amazing food options. I'm here often enough to have grown weary of heading to a diner for a predictable meal. So glad to have delicious possibilities as well! read more

I don't often give 5 stars but its warranted in this case. I had the SEAFOOD IN LOVE dish and it was beautifully presented , full of shrimp, scallops, mussels and squid. For dessert I had the fried banana and coconut ice cream- equally great! The Thai iced tea was for the price the largest I have ever had and it was very good My dining companion really enjoyed his meal too and I am happy to report the service was attentive and friendly. I posted a few photos. Thai Avenue is located in a shooping center but based on the quality, presentation, service and comfortable dining I could easily see them doing well in a bigger city like Philadelphia and beyond. I commented to my friend that since it was only an hour from my home I'd do the drive again just for the meal. The Lehigh Valley is lucky to have this gem.
