I naturally hate the dental chair and whole dental clinic environment, because with the wrong dentist, they can cause serious damage. For this reason, I did not see a dentist for two years prior to finally deciding to give this clinic a try, even with dental insurance all these years. I did read about the clinic before walking in - one of the not many clinics that practice holistic dentistry. The entire clinic felt down to earth, calm, friendly and welcoming and that helped calm my nerves when I first walked in, and this hasn't changed in subsequent visits. Their workflow seems to be quite efficient with text messaging, online booking. I probably spent the most time with Stacy the hygienist. She's a pro, friendly, tries to build rapport (without losing her focus on delivering good oral cleaning work) as any good healthcare professional would as that helps in alleviating anxieties. She's also really skillful - detailed oriented and gentle. You could really feel when someone cares about their profession. It's a pretty ethical practice led by a caring dentist. Their vibes, and of course their work, communicate an honest sincerity in servicing the community. She took time to explain everything clearly; she was very patient, professional and knowledgeable. My favorite dentist ever! Dr Ma, Stacey and Melanie were all so kind, welcoming, friendly and attentive from the moment I walked in the door. Stacey did an amazing job at taking my X-rays and cleaning my teeth. Very gentle, informative, and non rushed. I have a permanent retainer, which can make things difficult, so she gave me some floss threaders to help me stay consistent. Never felt awkward and the conversation was genuine and natural. I hadn't been in 7+ years and not once did I feel shamed for sharing that, or the fact that I removed some tartar build up with an at home Amazon kit. Dr Ma took her time to take photos of my mouth and talk to me about any and all of my concerns. She provided suggestions for whitening, and told me of a potential cavity to watch out for, that she'd be monitoring at future visits. She will make you as comfortable as can be, again very nonjudgmental. Dr Ma has the office very modern, clean and bright, which I appreciated. The technology has come a long way since my last dental visit: using guides to make X-rays a breeze, a screen in front of you to see and talk about X-rays and photos, and a camera to take photos of inside your mouth. Melanie is the cherry on top, such good energy and very kind! She's just the type of person you want to talk to at a front desk, not just checking you in and scheduling your appointments, but giving you someone to remember through genuine compliments and conversation. WOW never would I ever say I LOVE going to the dentist. Dr. Ma and her staff makes you feel so welcome like you're part of their dental family. I had my first appointment and honestly I cannot wait to come back for my next cleaning. She is an excellent dentist because she is honest with her diagnoses and doesn't try to sell you on treatment you don't need. There is a private parking lot in the back that's free so you don't have to worry about circling around the block to find a spot. I also felt super safe in her office as it is really clean. I am so pleased with the care that I received from Dr. Chang and Dr. Ma. I found Evergreen Dental Care online when I was researching dentists that are SMART certified in dental amalgam removals. I have had one silver filling in my mouth for over 15 years and know that mercury is not good to have in the body. I made an initial appointment to have x-rays of my teeth done and to have an initial exam about what my goal was for my teeth. Dr. Chang addressed all of my concerns and then I scheduled my follow up appt. to have my silver filling safely removed and replaced with a composite "white filling." Dr. Ma performed the procedure at it was a great experience. I didn't feel any pain and the results looked great. I had to update my review for Evergreen to praise Stacy the hygienist. Stacy is the most amazing hygienist I've had to date! Her cleanings are not only thorough and leave my teeth looking and feeling sparkling clean but her cleanings feel like I am getting some sort of "dental spa" treatment, not to mention she manages to remove these tough stains I tend to have without using any electrical instruments! I did the "glo" whitening procedure about 3 months ago. I was very happy with the result, it was instant and visible and the result is holding well after 3 months. What's equally important was the experience as I have very sensitive gum. The dental assistant Alma was excellent. Alma was patient, attentive and skillful. She carefully checked and protected all my sensitive areas to make sure there was no discomfort before treating it and she continued to check on me throughout the process. Dr Ma also checked on me in between sessions to ensure everything was going smoothly. After I saw the result (improved about 5 shades) I couldn't be happier. And Dr Ma patiently answered all my questions after the procedure so I got a much better idea on how I could maintain the result longer. I also do my other dental care here.
