My wife and I wanted a hot tub. We bought a Softub a few years ago. Sorry to this company for taking so long to write this review. Saw the owners at the Puyallup fair and I need to get this out. 19 years in Construction and previous military and my body needs this hot tub to function properly. It's also a hobby, cause I like to keep the water clean and clear. Super easy. Staple of my life. Cost was far less than rigid tubs. I can move it in my truck. Easily. There is no assigned seating. I am 6'3" and I get to stretch out. We don't need many weak jets. It has maintenance jets and the big one that serves our purpose just fine. Pump is detachable for service which Evergreen did well. 110v plug and play. Going to figure out generator power next for glamping. I am very happy with this product and this company. While Softub is a national manufacturer (who is far less easy to connect with) the team at Evergreen is really knowledgable and fair in every aspect of business. For me, Softub is the best choice for a spa. I really dislike big fiberglass tubs with assigned seating. The Softub is the perfect medium between one of those throw away inflatables and the monster fiberglass units with a million jets and assigned seating. We've been wanting one for years and finally have a place for it! After years and years of sticking our hands in the warm water at the Puyallup Fair, we finally remodeled our backyard and designated a space for a Softub. While it really wasn't my first choice, it was the best for our situation. We got the 4 seater (really only comfortable with two people) at the discounted fair price with custom color, upgraded material, and starter set. It arrived sooner than estimated at around 5 weeks instead of 8, and they rolled it to the back of the house and in the spot we wanted. It was surprisingly light. Set up was easy and it took about 48 hours for the water to reach max temp. You best believe that we were in that bad boy early the morning after 48 hours! It's been a couple of months now and we still use it often. Sometimes more than once a day. But, even though we followed all of the directions, added everything we were supposed to, did good to check levels, and added chlorine, our water turned orange-ish and we got worried. We stopped by the store in Auburn they hooked us up with everything we would need for at least a whole year and something to clear up the water. We added what they told us to and by the next day, the water was clear again. It turns out, our bathsuit/shorts were the culprit! We're more than happy with our purchase although we wish we could have bought it a long time ago when it was much cheaper. Oh well, you snooze, you lose! read more

I never had the option to test the tub out and return even though I never signed any paperwork stating I was are of the return policy. It took over 3 months to get the tub and I couldn't return it once delivered. Worst company to buy from. They ended up telling me to sell my tub if I didn't want it. The delivery guy rolled the fully boxed tub into my backyard and right to the deck where it would be placed. I was surprised how easy it was to set up. Last year we moved to a new home with a nice 3rd floor deck that was screaming "put a hot tub on me". I looked around at many of the traditional places and determined the only way to get a traditional, heavy hot tub was with a crane that would require us closing a street behind our house, which the city would not let us do. A few months later, I saw a TV ad for Evergreen SofTubs that changed my life (minor exaggeration, but it was a good thing). SofTubs would not only fit in my space, but due to their light weight it would be trivial to get the tub into my third floor patio without any special equipment. I contacted Evergreen and made an appointment to visit the showroom. I ended up purchasing the largest Portico tub, which was the right thing to do. I don't remember the exact cost, but it was in the $5000 range installed. I paid a deposit and was given an estimate for an October delivery (it was late August when I ordered). As expected, I got the call that my tub was ready to be delivered in early October. I also had to have an electrician install a dedicated 110V outlet, which happened to be done the same day the tub was delivered. (I had to arrange this myself, Evergreen doesn't do this for you). We got the tub filled up and two days later it was up to temp. I've used it countless times since then and look forward to that initial "ahhhh" when you first get in. Its magical! The tub has been trouble free thus far and I've been able to keep the water chemistry in check with just a little research and a few extra supplies I ordered through Evergreen and received a few days later. I am very happy with my purchase, the communication from Evergreen, and the overall experience. read more

William Brewster attended an art festival showing his 2 Softubs and we ordered and had it shipped to our coastal home. It arrived exactly when they said it would, it was very easy to roll to its location, fill, add the products and starting using it as soon as it heated. At the end of the season, we removed the water with a small pump found on Amazon and rolled it to it's out of season location. Easy to move, and the support is amazing. You can use this in snowy locations or hot desert locations as the outside material lasts in all weather conditions. Our son and daughter-in-law bought one and when WIlliam returned again this year, we stopped to say hello and encouraged another couple from a cold weather climate to order one. I have had my Softub for a year. The Softub is great and working as advertised. The decking I purchased from Evergreen Softub on the other had as cracked and discolored where the knots in the wood are. Its taken me almost 6 months of e-mailing to finally get replacement pieces of wood to receive the wrong color. Wish I could post a picture here to show how the wood decking has not fared well in the Seattle weather at all, I'll try to add one to the photos section. read more

It's hard to believe I've owned my Softub for over a year now. I cannot imagine NOT owning one! I average about 4 nights a week in my tub. It REALLY helps with my Restless Leg Syndrome (RLS). There's something about those hot bubbles and relaxing while watching the moon, stars, clouds, etc. that makes life great! It's my small way of "smelling the roses" in life. I use my tub in all types of weather and even bought a shading umbrella for when the rain is too unbearable. My favorite is lying in the warm tub while snowflakes fall and the area around the tub is white and beautiful. I've even had ice sickles running down the outside of my tub (great insulation!). We visited Softub at the last Washington State Fair and conveyed our appreciation on how they handled my Ground Fault Interrupt (GFI) error (3 in line confused my Softub computer). We purchased our Softub at the Seattle Remodeling show in February. We were out of town when it arrived at the dealership, so delivery was delayed due to our not being home. After it arrived, assembly was easy. The delivery driver gave us a few helpful hints that helped us. It has been operating smoothly after sorting out the electrical issue. It was an attractive hot tub option as we have a regular outlet near the location we had in mind (so we didn't think we'd have to deal with an electrician) What they didn't make clear was that the outlet has to be on a dedicated circuit. After having issues with he setting reverting to the default we realized we would have to bite the bullet and get the electrician out and we installed a dedicated 20A circuit. After this, the tub has been operating without any issues. Along the way, Erik (who helped us trouble shoot our electrical issue), told us about a couple of hidden options to operate the tub in a mode so that it only heats the unit once a day (which is how we use it). This has reduced the run time of the unit which I'm sure will save operating costs and extend the life of the motor. The tub does seem to be well insulated as it only drops 6-8 degrees (in April) over 20 hours. The 5 foot unit is perfect for the two of us, and the soft sides are a bit more comfortable than hard fiberglass units. read more

I did my own install and it was easy enough. It is easy to get in and out of it. If you are looking for swirling water, this is great. If you're looking for massage jets, look elsewhere. I got the bigger tub for the more powerful jet, but was still disappointed. There just isn't enough power or enough jets for effective massage. It's been almost a year now since I ordered a tub from this company. Like everyone else I was stuck in the waiting game. When thing started moving, they first sent me the wood decking. (great). As I put it together, I quickly found the quality was so poor I knew it wouldn't do and considering the price that they wanted for it made me question what the tub quality would be. So, I made that dreaded call to express my feelings. Evergreen softub could care a less. Evergreen Softtub cracked even a few months before the end of warranty and was replaced with a liner that quickly became misshapen. However when they said they'd send out someone to determine what to do initially they warned us that 'it will only be replaced one time.' Well obviously they gave us a used bad liner. They also haven't responded to my requests to fix this, sticking true to their decision not to correct the problem if the second liner didn't work out. Seems like they knew it might not. So don't bother to buy this hot tub because even if you buy all Softtub products and have the hot tub outside and out of the sun it can't handle it's own treated water and the air itself I suppose. Very sad to have a bad looking $3,000 hot tub because we enjoyed it otherwise. What is the point of a hot tub an elephant can stand on that can't handle it's own balanced water? read more

My wife and I ordered a Softub from Evergreen last May and unfortunately, we have had a very poor experience. Customer service was initially good but quickly declined. In addition, the unit was delivered defective and required a replacement part to be ordered from the manufacturer. I understand things happen, but it could have been handled much more professionally. I've had my Softub for about 7 years and I love it. Everything about the ease of set-up and use is true. I was a single mom at the time I purchased the tub and mainly bought it for therapeutic reasons (I have mild CP), and it's become a small luxury that we've all come to appreciate. The downside, however, is there are not a lot of dealers around to help if something goes wrong, but we learned that Eric at Evergreen does his best to serve a huge region/area. We keep our Softub outside and over time it developed a small leak in the motor. To save money on shipping, we hand delivered the motor to Evergreen Softub in Kent (we live in Portland, OR - about a 3 hour drive.) After Eric fixed it in-house and sent it back to us, we still had leaking issues. But instead of having us bring it back again, he drove from Kent, WA, down to my house in Portland, OR! He worked on the tub and didn't leave until it was completely set-up and there were no more leaks - all this at no extra charge. That's great customer service. Thank you, Eric! So happy with our Softub and Evergreen Softub! We just love our Softub, we use it almost every day, in the summer we turn down the heat and take a cool spa. We bought the show demo at the home show and then had to build a deck to put it on, so when they were ready to deliver it after the show we weren't ready to have it delivered. They held onto it for an extra month so we could finish our deck and have a place to put our new softub, we really appreciated that. Several months later we had an issue with the gaskets around the jets deteriorating. When my husband called to discuss the problem he actually got to speak with a real person who knew exactly what was going on. Turned out we were using the wrong chlorine (we didn't realize that different chlorines were different) and Evergreen replaced the gaskets and loaned us the tool to replace them with, saving us hundreds of dollars. We will buy all our chemicals from them from now on. Everyone I have dealt with at this company has been very helpful and knowledgable. I don't understand the bad reviews I've read here, I have not see anything close to what others are describing. I guess you can't make everybody happy all the time. We have had nothing but a good experience and I will defiantly recommend Evergreen Softub to anyone who is considering a hot tub. read more

We had a softub for over 20 years and never had an issue. We bought a newer model recently. All of a sudden the heater would constantly run and not turn off. We called Evergreen Softub in October and were told it was a 5 month wait list to get it serviced. When we asked about fixing it ourselves we were told it would nullify the warranty. Fast forward to March, we finally get a call to bring the heating unit in for service as they have extra technicians on hand. 5 weeks go by and not a word. We finally got a hold of someone in the service department and they said it was ready for pickup. Upon pickup, my husband was told it would cost over $650 and that the warranty no longer covered it. After a heated discussion we still ended up paying over $300 for a part we could have purchased online for $125 and replaced ourselves. Had we done that we would have had our hot tub working the past 6 months and not been out the additional money. Customer service is severely lacking. No calls were ever made to tell us that it was going to take longer, cost money, or when the work was done. The attitude in the store today was "oh well". Definitely will not be a repeat customer and highly recommend taking your business elsewhere if you are in the market for a hot tub. read more

Let me start by clarifying that this rating is for service or should I say lack thereof. We have had our Softub 220 for 3 years. We have enjoyed it tremendously and used it almost daily. We noticed that the water level was dropping and found that there was a water leak coming from under the motor unit. My husband called service and after explaining the issue was told in quite a condescending tone that if he wanted to bring it up then he could but that it would not be looked at in a few months, minimum of 2. He was told that there was quite a bit of work and back log and if my huband didn't like the wait time or if he didn't like that answer then he should figure out a different solution. We have always had good things to say about our Softub but this has really soured us. This is really disappointing customer service for such a great product. read more

9/22/2016: Took advantage of my 74 year old father and mother at the fair. Had them sign on a tablet without explaining what they were signing and promising him that it'll be great for his bad hip. Well he tried to use it once but he can't even get into it or out of it. They won't take it back since it's been 12 days since purchased. Also very rude to my father when he spoke to them on the phone. Made it very clear that they have his money and don't care now. Stay away from these people. Edit for response 6/16/2017: 9 months later they finally reply to the initial review. Since I can't reply directly here's my response. No rails or stairs were offered. Only thing offered when it was bought were seats that were literally cushions you filled with sand. They did at one point offer to sell more accessories that they claimed might help but never specified what so I guess that might be what she is talking about. Hard to say with how rude they were being. They also finally called us back after my initial 1 star review was posted and promised to look into this and try to work something out but of course that was the last we ever heard from anyone. read more

We purchased our SoftTub in June 2016 at Maple Valley Days. We received the tub same day, within a few hours! William was the sales representative, very pleasant and knowledge. Eric was one of the delivery folks and also very professional. We filled the tub that afternoon and were soaking by the next night. What a scam and a racket - BEWARE. WOW. Brought our T-300 Softub motor in to have it fixed; it had suddenly stopped working. Upon receiving it, Jennifer emails me and says "When you get a moment, can you tell me what issue you're having with your motor"? Meaning, she wants to know what the issue is. I tell her it just stopped working. We are then informed, after weeks of waiting and having to call and email back in, that they are saying there was rat infestation damage, which isn't covered by our warranty. How convenient. So now we're in dispute, and we're arguing with them. Jennifer says that one of the first things she said to my father-in-law who dropped off the motor was that it was obvious that there was rat damage. Well, if that was the case, then why did she email me asking me what the issue is with my motor?? And then they send me photos which don't have any metadata in them proving when or where they were taken...for all we know, they could have been taken minutes before they emailed them to me, to bolster their point. One of their techs said that the rat "traveled with the motor and went into their warehouse and set off motion alarms". Right. Our Softub motor, which was sitting in our backyward with no apparent rat infestation damage, was then sitting in the back of my car for less than 24 hours, and then was sitting in the back of my father-in-law's car for less than 24 hours (he lives closer; he offered to drop it off) and just all that time happened to house a live rat which just sat in there. In the motor. In our cars. You know, just hanging out. Without getting out and checking things out. Without leaving any droppings. Just kind of, you know, chilling in a Softub motor across two cars and 24 hours time, into a different warehouse, spanning a hundred miles. So Jennifer tells me that it's no longer going to cost our warranty deductible of $275, it's closer to $1200 to repair. I tell her forget it, we're not having it serviced through them. Hours later I appeal to her, asking for some kind of compromise because everything thus far has sounded incredibly fishy. She doesn't even acknowledge my email. She calls me up and says that our motor is ready for pickup. Meaning, now they're refusing to repair my motor at all or engage in any further dialogue. So I tell her I'll come pick it up. Jennifer says "I'd be more comfortable just shipping it to you." I tell her no, I'm not giving them our address and it's on my way south to Vancouver so I'll pick it up that Friday on my way south. So what does she do? She ships it anyway. Without telling me. Without the courtesy of informing me that she's shipping our property. And where does she ship it? To our old address. To residents of a home that we haven't lived in for two years. I tell her this. She sends for a Fedex call tag. She says they're redirecting it. They don't. Finally, I get my Softub motor back far later, and it's obvious that the insides have been doctored to look like rat damage. So we just settle on a Craigslist-purchased motor that the seller had repaired from Evergreen Softub a few years earlier. We bought it for $400 from them. Works fine. And can you guess what these sellers paid to have their motor fixed through Evergreen Softub? Yep. $1200. If this doesn't scream "racket," then I don't know what does. read more

I have had my soft tub for 4 months. I really like it but it needed to be drained at the 4 mo. point and I was hoping for more like 6 mos. I think it's due to having soft water from a spring instead of city water maybe. Aside from that it's been great. The jets are about and the temp goes to 106 degrees. I expect it will last for years if I take care of it as told to. read more

We have had nothing but trouble with Evergreen Softub. The purchase and delivery are easy, what happens later for a $5000 hot tub is they want you to spend twice that continually replacing parts. Every time I have called them about something going wrong they tell me I am not maintaining the tub correctly. The tub lid failed because it is a taped together piece of crap and when I called about it breaking in half they told me I was not taking it out of the skin (the final coating around the foam and vapor barrier) and letting it dry out. How in western Washington are you supposed to take a foam lid wrapped in vapor barrier and let it dry out and how long does this take here in WW? The whole point of a vapor barrier is it is supposed to keep moisture out! We bought a new lid from a company in Colorado because they were half the price of Softub and they laughed when I asked about drying out the lid. They said no a good vapor barrier keeps moisture out. Now our motor works at half speed and we don't get any jet. Our tub is only 5 yrs old. I don't think for the money spent you should get a tub that lasts 3-4 yrs. never again! read more

While my tub is draining the 300 gallons of water I just put in the tub 3 days ago - I thought I would provide my 'real-time' experience with owning this tub with prospective buyers. First, Soft Tub's definition of PORTABLE and my definition are not the same. To clarify, my definition implies that portable means easily moved. This concept applies to an empty tub that you can stand up and roll or move to alternate locations. This is doable depending upon your physical condition but any alternative location will be dependent upon the proximity of another electrical outlet. This brings me to the biggest FLAW in owning a Soft Tub spa. Soft Tub provides a ten [10] foot power cord to plug into any 110 electrical outlet. Let's think about 10ft. Unless you want to have the power cord extended from the tub to an electrical outlet running horizontally from the power cord to the electrical outlet - so that, you, your pet, guests, children, wild life can walk or run through the extended power cord every time you walk around your Soft Tub, you are going to need anywhere from 6-12 inches of slack on that power cord in order to lay it flat across the surface from the electrical outlet to the motor. In other words, that 10 foot power cord really only gives you 9feet at best to connect from the spa to an electrical outlet. What about an extension cords? Read the literature carefully from Soft Tub because through out the brochures it clearly states DO NOT USE AN EXTENSION CORD! If you do it will VOID your WARRANTY! According to Soft Tub their TEAMS of engineers have spent countless hours testing their electrical power configurations and circuitry. Their conclusions confirmed there is too much loss of amperage when using extension cords. This power reduction is so great that using a extension cord will or as they like to say MAY cause damage to the circuitry in the motors THEY DESIGNED. Therefore the highly engineered and sophisticated circuitry in Soft Tub motors requires a direct connection from the 10ft power cord supplied with each Soft Tub to an electrical outlet. Interestingly, they do not supply an electrical circuitry schematic, nor do they send you any data relating to their YEARS of engineer tests they have done on this equipment to support their conclusions. This contradicts what I saw when my wife and I purchased this tub while attending the Barrett Jackson Auto Show in 2015 in Scottsdale,AZ. The booth was filled with 2 or 3 Soft Tubs. Each tub was connected to an extension cord supplied by the hosts of the Barrett Jackson Auto show, West World. Secondly, I have had my tub connected with a [12/3 - 25ftAWG extension cord for 3 years and never had a problem until I recently refilled by tub 3 days ago. Third, when the tub was delivered the representative from Soft Tubs saw and understood how we were planning to connect the tub - no mention of potential motor damage by doing so was made. Fourth, a [12/3 - AWG extension cord] means that the cord is designed to handle 20 amps - so I have a 20amp extension cord hooked up to a 15amp motor - clearly no issues of over heating or under rated performance specs due to a incompatible electrical cord connection. Fifth, nowhere can I find that there is any SIGNIFICANT loss of amperage using this hook up that would cause a complete motor breakdown. I use power tools and have generally always had to use an extension cord from time to time - running a 50ft to a 100ft cord to complete a project using 15amp pieces of equipment ranging from table saws, air compressors, generators, nail guns...and on and on and I have never experienced enough amp loss in those harsh environments that caused the tool not to operate or have a blown motor. With SOFT TUB SPA's you can have PORTABILITY as long as it is no further away than 10 feet from an electrical outlet.
