The hospital recommended this pharmacy and sent the prescription here. Within 30 minutes, I got a call that the medication wasn't in stock nor available for 4 more days. I chose to put the order on hold. A few minutes later, I changed my mind and went to the same pharmacy to request them to transfer the order to another store. The pharmacist who helped was incredibly kind and helpful. Literally had two physical phones up to his ear to contact other stores and ensure they had the item in stock. That level of service is really REALLY special. He could have easily just redirected me somewhere else (16 miles away) and made it someone else's issue to deal with but instead, he chose to do the right thing and make sure what I needed was there before I left. To me, that shows integrity and commitment to work. Yes, the area is a little sketch. Yes, the parking lot has a lot of trash. Yes, the wait times can be a little long. But the customer service is top notch. I'd come back if I needed 24/7 medication in the future.

I had been experiencing severe tooth pain for several days, which I believe was related to my wisdom tooth. The pain was so intense that I could not sleep, and I was having sharp, throbbing pain that seemed to radiate through my head. A dentist prescribed me an antibiotic because of my condition. When I went to this Walgreens to pick up my medication, the female pharmacist on duty told me that I could not receive it unless I contacted my dentist and asked the dentist to call another Walgreens to confirm the prescription. At that point, it was already around 9:00 PM, and the dental office was closed, so there was no realistic way for me to do what she was asking. I was already in severe pain and became so overwhelmed that I cried at the pharmacy. I understand that pharmacists have policies and responsibilities they must follow, but I felt that the female pharmacist showed very little understanding or compassion for how urgent and painful my situation was. I was not asking for medication without a prescription -- the medication had already been prescribed by a dentist. What made the experience even more frustrating was that I later drove approximately 20 minutes to another Walgreens, where I was able to pick up the same prescribed medication without being required to call my dentist for additional confirmation. I am disappointed that the situation was handled so differently between two Walgreens locations. I hope this complaint can be reviewed so that patients who are experiencing severe pain and urgent situations can be treated with more understanding, compassion, and clear communication in the future.

I have been using this pharmacy for a long time with few issues. I really want them to succeed,…read morebecause they are in walking distance from my house and it's a nice, large store with generally good stocking and friendly people. However, I'm old and wanted to get the new COVID vaccine recently. I got an appointment, showed up, and they refused the vaccine because I'm on Medicare. I called the pharmacist after and talked to her about it, and she started that they couldn't give me the vaccine because of my Medicare supplement. I pointed out that vaccines are part of normal Medicare and do not require a supplement, so it doesn't matter what supplement I have. She suggested I go to CVS, so I went to the one in Willow Glen and had a very nice experience. Now, I'm not even sure it's legal for them to refuse a vaccine for someone on "regular" Medicare (not "Medicare advantage," which I might understand), or if they have gotten into some anti-vax "MAHA" kick. But I want to warn my fellow older neighbors that this Walgreens seems to not be friendly to Medicare patients any more. Really a shame and very disappointing, but, outside of warning you, I don't know what can be done about this except take the little side trip to CVS.

Tips for if you've never shopped at a refillery: they have scales so you can weigh the container (either that you buy from them or bring in your own empty or not empty), stick a piece of tape to container and wright the weight (before you fill their products). This way, when they weigh the container at checkout, they will subtract the weight you wrote down so you only pay what you filled there. If you are at their spice and powdered items, they have clean scoops you can use and make sure to place them in the used spot after use. Below the scale next to that spices and powdered area, there are rags you can use to clean up your container or counter if you spilled anything. There are actually 3 scales around the stores. And they have a rewards program where you can get a card that the cashier can mark every time you make a purchase.

To make matters worse, I had to wait over 15 minutes for the pharmacist to return and approve the release. I didn't have extra time to sit and wait because I needed to get my dad to a scheduled appointment. If the medication isn't actually available for pickup, then why does the website and notification system say it's ready? Unfortunately, this isn't the first issue we've had at this location. My dad receives a monthly injection, and during our last refill they gave us the runaround for three days, claiming they couldn't reach his doctor for approval on needles. The problem was that there was already a valid refill on file the entire time. It took them three days to figure that out. People don't have time to make multiple trips and deal with repeated pharmacy issues just to get medications they depend on. Because of the ongoing problems, poor communication, and wasted time, I will be transferring my dad's prescriptions to another pharmacy. Of you need your medicine in a timely manner skip this location and go elsewhere.

I had a facial here from Violet. She cleaned my face and extracted all of the oils and dirt in my pores that normal washing could not. I felt rejuvenated!
