This is the most amazing vet I've ever been to. The Dr. is so compassionate and always listens to our needs as well as tells us what we need to do. LOVE LOVE LOVE this vet! We had a life threatening emergency a few years ago and the vet took my dog on her lunch break after waiting in our car for hours and hours in Bremerton to get a dog and pony show. Time for an update - George is still getting great care from Evergreen. He's had a couple of ho-hum years but this recent Fall has made him a frequent visitor to the vet. It started with his annual physical that found some dental issues. 3 teeth extracted later, all went well. A week later an eye infection. Then the stinker decided to swallow some Christmas ribbon which can have serious consequences on a cat's intestines (get them to a vet within 90 mins so they can force vomiting). It was just one of those Falls! All of those maladies handled with professionalism, lots of communicating with me about what was going on and post-visit care, and warmth. After the Christmas ribbon forced hurl, the tech held George and cuddled him as he came out from the pre-barf sedative. Thanks for taking care of our George, but I hope he does not have a few months like the last 3 so we don't see each other for awhile ;-) read more

A big shoutout for Evergreen, they are one of the few vets in the area who will treat chickens and geese. It can be difficult to call around to different vets, only to be told that they don't handle these birds. When one of my geese was a gosling, he got tangled up with netting and it got caught in his mouth. We were able to get him right up there and the tech quickly took care of the problem. A few months later, another goose developed a case of wet feather. Again, I was able to make an appointment where he was quickly taken care of. While he was in the office, he walked around honking, much to the delight of people who happened to be there. I also called with questions about my chickens and got to talk to their tech. Dr Hamilton is super knowledgeable and has geese of his own. The staff is great and I definitely recommend Evergreen to all the chicken and geese people out there. read more

I started taking my two dogs to Evergreen after having a less than stellar experience with another vet in Olympia. I really only have great things to say. Staff is friendly and accommodating, and you can tell they all deeply care about animals. I've also always had reasonable wait times for appointments (considering how busy vet offices are). Facility is clean and well kept. Being more specific, I cannot recommend Dr. Tyler enough. My older dog was unexpectedly diagnosed with an aggressive form of cancer in early February. This was devastating for me, but Dr. Tyler was there every step of the way with compassion and support. She was also helpful in providing me with options for treatment and advising me how to proceed. Unfortunately, my girl lost her battle with cancer recently. One comfort for me is that she had excellent care until the end. Both my dog and my mom's 2 dogs have been patients at Evergreen. My dog has been ever since she was a puppy, 9 years ago. I just moved across the state and I have to say, I wish I had changed vets sooner. Last week, I took my dog in to her new vet because she had an episode of syncope. She was diagnosed with a heart murmur last year at Evergreen though we decided back then not to run any tests to see how severe it was. I now deeply regret that decision. Today she has MVD and is at severe risk for developing heart failure. Last week was the first time she showed any symptoms. Now, to be clear, I accept 100% responsibility for not getting her heart murmur looked at last year. That said, I deeply wish my vet at Evergreen had been more forthcoming about how risky it was to not get her heart checked out last year. I ABSOLUTELY would have gotten the test(s) done had the vet explained in detail the potential risks of NOT getting it looked at. They made it sound optional and told me to monitor her for symptoms. In reality, I should have been encouraged to get this test done ASAP. I don't know if it would have made a difference or not, but there's a chance we could have treated her sooner before it got this serious. That's not all. Several years ago, I brought my dog in for an ear infection. They took her into the back to administer ear medicine. She came out looking fine, but several hours later, her ears became a vibrant eggplant purple. I'm not joking. I wish I had gotten a picture. I can't imagine how roughly they must have grabbed her ears to put that medicine in. She's a 12 pound terrier for reference. I've also never been able to receive treatment from the same vet twice. How fast are they cycling through these vets? Also, as I mentioned, both me and my mom have had dogs as patients at Evergreen and never--not once-- have they called the correct person to discuss our dogs. Every time my dog went in for a test or appointment, my mom got the phone call and vice versa. I explained every time this happened that they had the wrong number on file and I would ask if they would change it. They said they did. Obviously not. Last but not least, when my mom's second dog passed away, we had originally scheduled the euthanasia to happen on a Monday, but my mom was so stricken with grief that she didn't want to see her dog suffer through the weekend. I called on her behalf to try and see if they could schedule it on Friday. The receptionist was palpably stressed and frustrated. Probably not at me, but probably at her naturally stressful job. I understand this stress. I worked in the food service industry during COVID, but I wasn't pulling a Karen over my Starbucks order getting messed up. I was trying to schedule the euthanasia of my childhood dog. I wish I had been met with a slightly more tender attitude. Go here if you have no other choice, but be prepared to never get an appointment, deal with stressed out front desk people, have no relationship with your vet, and get a second opinion. read more

The staff and Drs were amazing. Firstly, this clinic was one of the few taking new pets. I need help with travel certificates for my pups. The team were amazingly supportive and responsive working with me to safely get my pups to Europe. Their communication and support moving the needed documents through the FDA helped to alleviate major anxiety. All of this while they were incredibly busy. I called Evergreen Veterinarian and the receptionist was extremely nice and very understanding. She talked to the rabbit technician who seen my rabbit as a drop off. If you have a double coated dog going into surgery stress that they use some tact while shaving! I have a beautiful golden retriever whose coat was butchered by a careless tech. I understand the need to shave for surgery, however five inches above her nipples seems excessive. My family raised show dogs for years, this would not stand. I have been taking my animals here for 12 years. Dr Hamilton and Dr. Sues have been wonderful to our fur kids. I have previously given this place a five star review, but not anymore. I have a three week old kitten that became lethargic and clinging to life. I brought him to Evergreen vet hoping for the best. They said they could really aggressively treat the cat with tests and interventions for over 500 dollars on up. I said I couldn't afford it so they said for $150.00 they can warm him up give oxygen and other interventions to see how he responds. I said ok. I got a call from Dr. Wu saying that he was doing much better and that she wanted to run a test for over $100 and by the way I currently owe $230. Before doing any tests. Wtf? Why was I quoted $150?! I asked if I could do a payment plan. No. I asked if I could write a post dated check. No. I had to pay all of it up front or I would have to sign over my rights to the kitten! Yes you read that right. Pay or we keep your pet and you won't get him back even if you pay in full in a few days! They scammed me with extra fees that they didn't tell me about and they were going to confiscate my kitten. Even though I could pay them in full in a matter of days, nope pay today or else! Not to mention I have been taking my fur kids there for 12 years and have spent thousands upon thousands over the years, and always paid in full. Have given post dated checks in the past without issue. They have NEVER had any problems collecting from us. I got my mom to pay them over the phone and gave my mom a post dated check. So kitten came home with me. I was loyal to evergreen even though they are in the more expensive side because I thought they cared about my animals and valued me as a client. I was wrong. My 2 big dogs have gone exclusively to Evergreen for their care since their first puppy appointment (One dog is 8 years old, the other is 5 years old). In other words, I thought we had established a relationship. Over the weekend my 5 year old dog cut his paw and the nail looked wobbly. My dog was limping and crying. I called first thing Monday morning for him to be seen and was told the next available appointment was Thursday. I found care elsewhere and my dog was started on carprofen, gabapentin and an antibiotic. The veterinarian who saw him said it was extremely painful because it was the nail bed. I will reconsider ever going back to Evergreen. I don't think they showed much compassion for a long term patient. read more

Super rude tone and very judge mental on the calls that I made on the care of my own pet. I can't even convey on here how frustrated I was and how much this ruined my day. This place has changed over the past couple years in a bad way. Yes COVID guidelines are in place and were adequate although it also results in virtually no contact with service providers. More importantly, we received a one minute call from the vet several hours after a dental cleaning procedure. Was told two teeth had also been removed and no discussion of charges. What should have been $300 or so ballooned to almost $1000 -- no call to us, no discussion on the brief call from the vet, and very high extraction fees per tooth. A thousand dollar bill tends to be a big deal for us and probably for most people and this place showed no interest in talking with us. But their pricing seems to be pretty steep. I had an emergency for my dog and she needed a hysterectomy. This place took us in as a new patient on their lunch time and saved my dogs life. She had something called Pyometra and it was a very dangerous infection in her uterus I guess and it had to be removed. Not only did they help us, the cost was half the amount that VCA quoted us in Kitsap county. Thanks for all your hospitality and the warm kinds words, the blanket to keep her warm, the water dish to give her water and the nail trimming while she was out as well as everything else. Jill Suess, DVM missed two major issues with my dog during an examination: Balding spot on tail and lump on back. She just walked away and never came back, leaving me and my dog alone in a room waiting for someone to tell us to pay an leave. I called back and spoke with Jason explaining my story and he basically called me a liar and insisted I repay for another exam for her to see what she missed. I warned Jason that I am an Internet marketer and would do exactly this and he didn't seem to care, only further calling me a liar and insisting on payment to see what the doctor missed. I went to their website to try and write an email giving management another opportunity before doing this, but their website won't allow email! When I called to find out why I had a balance they couldn't even politely apologize when it was there fault. I recently took my dog in because he was having trouble with his eyes. I was worried so I called a bunch of vets. This place was able to get me in quickly. They were all so nice and did everything they could to ease my worries. It turned out to be an eye infection and with the antibiotics they gave him it cleared up in less than a week! Highly recommend this vet. They were kind, empathetic and professional. They could see not only was my fur baby stressed out but so was I, and they went above and beyond to put us both at ease. I went here because they were close; wish I would have checked Yelp first. I expressed extreme concern about the cost both on the phone and in person, but they proceeded to perform work not covered under the office visit fee without telling me it would cost extra, and I ended up with a bill that was twice what an office visit would cost, and that didn't even include any treatment, it was just the diagnostics. Had I realized the costs, I would have said no, I can't afford it, but they didn't bother to tell me. When I take my car in for service, the shop is required by law to give me an estimate of the cost, and they are not allowed to perform any work costing more than 10% above the estimate without my approval. Until now I didn't think this would be necessary for vetrinarians, but with folks like this out there apparently it is. Needless to say, I will find a different vet even if I have to drive far away. read more

Evergreen is not our regular vet in the area however I feel compelled to get the word out that they went the extra mile for us this past week. Our 8yo Boston Terrier, Samson, had a terrifying episode where he looked to be having a stroke. My initial reaction when my son called to tell me what was happening was that our normal vet was too far away. Knowing Evergreen was less than a mile a way I told him to take Samson there. I called ahead and they said bring him in, without any hesitation. When my son arrived they were waiting for him and took Samson back immediately. Thankfully, Samson came thru the episode and was able to come home with us that day. Evergreen suggested we consult with a neurologist for further investigation on what was happening with Samson. They set that appointment up for us and sent us home with Samson. I am so thankful they didn't turn us away and treated Samson with love and care. These folks are wonderful and compassionate. I have taken three pets there at two different times in my life and they are great. They board animals too which is a big help just in case vet care is needed during the boarding. I am sure they are not the cheapest but they are good. Dr Seuss (yes like the books) - is great. This is a wonderful veterinary clinic! We were camping at Millersylvania State Park when our dog started limping and was unable to put pressure on her front leg. We're from Vancouver, BC so we were far from home. We looked up local vet clinics and saw that Evergreen was both close and highly rated, so we gave them a call and they told us to come over. It was near closing time for them, so we rushed over and met with Dr. Hamilton. Within an hour, our dog had been professionally assessed, given an x-ray, given a splint and we left with painkillers and the promise of a call the next day with the radiology report. We began painkillers and by the next day, our dog was doing much betterl. We received a call from the clinic the next day with the official radiology report, and they offered to work with our local vet to exchange information. We could not be happier with the care and attention showed to our dog and for the kindness showed to us. We would absolutely recommend this clinic, and we're a little sad that Evergreen isn't closer so that it could become our regular clinic! Thank you for everything! :) read more
