They charged me for the service I never had just because it was in their system. I was their hostage because I went for a promo deal and was hit with," oh you own us money from years ago. Also membership cost went up So started going to one that's further away from my house but the one I go to now seems to have stronger beds. Get better results there. Just relocated to the neighborhood and thought I would sign up. First off, the receptionist was just standing there texting on her phone upon arrival. I had to say hi first just to get a response. Then when reviewing packages with no first time membership promotions or any incentives, she couldn't tell me what I would be charged today and insisted on just entering in my information to the system. I was advised that there is a 26.00 fee and services are 59.00/mo. She couldn't even explain the prorate for today and what charges would be applied. At this point I'm not feeling any enthusiasm about signing up so I politely declined to sign up and walked out. Advice to manager: Hire people that treat guests like gold and are actually happy to be there and work if you want to acquire new memberships. Not only is a setup fee a ripoff but I'm sure I wouldn't have minded if it was someone helping me who was truly excited to onboard a new member. You lost a prospective member today. I will give this ITan Salon a 5+ star. Everytime that I walk into the Salon I am always greeted by the friendly staff and they are warm and inviting. I have never been into a tanning salon that is this clean, it is spotless. The beds are well kept and are always clean. I want to give a HUGE THANK YOU to the Manager of this salon, Mavina. She always greeted me with my first name upon arrival and she always gave me excellent suggestions as to which bed I should use to get the best results. She is hands down one of the BEST Managers that they have at ITan. Now I would like to give another HUGE THANK YOU to Abby. I asked her for suggestions on which tanning lotion I should use while laying in the tanning beds. She knew exactly which lotion I should use to get the very best results. She did not pressure me into buying any lotions, but gave me the the best suggestions for great results, and this lotion is magic!! Well they offer a 7 day trial which is a scam. When I cancelled they mentioned nothing of my account being charged and I was good. Later I see the charge and they wouldn't do anything to make amends. I canceled cause I was out of town and wouldn't use it, they wouldn't offer a refund for their mistake or even offer another month when they could clearly see I never used it. Watch out for shady complaints. Better to use your local gyms. read more

This review is solely in response to iTan's new tanning packages -- staff were great, beds are quality, place is clean. But FORGET iTan's newest rip-off tanning prices and way they do business (ahemm, corporate). So, it's the middle of the month, I want to get a few tanning sessions in before vacation; one bed, one session is $30. That's right, $30! OR OR OR, get one if their "memberships" to "save money." Ok, so now you have to get an unlimited membership good for the rest of the month, pro-rated (because it's the middle of the month), for $50. Ok... expensive, but ok. Here's the catch. You're forced into buying the next month as well, unlimited, for $79. No choice, mandatory, must buy next month as well. So for the average person just wanting a few sessions every now and then, you're absolutely screwed into extended time that you don't want, need, and you may not use. Unless you buy on the first of the month, you're automatically screwed into over a month of unlimited for no reason. Done with iTan. Customer done. I'll drive the extra few minutes to other places that respect their customers. read more

So I called over to this iTan to see if my membership is able to be used at any location (and it is! I'm kinda new to my membership so I wasn't sure.) Anyway, when I got here Jess greeted me so friendly and welcoming. And she was handling this place like an all star! This "new normal" takes some adjusting and she was totally handling business with a smile on (I ok couldn't see it but I could tell through her mask!) She is awesome ! So.. 5 stars for the good first time special $7 for a week to try all they offer, and for the friendly girl that got me checked in. I was particularly interested in using the spray tan machines. I prefer Versa Spa but this location only had the Mystic Spray Machine. Even though I was not a big fan of the Mystic Spray machine because the last time and only time I've tried it a few years ago I was left drenched in tanner and had to pat towel dry my whole body. (Now I realize something must have just been wrong with that particular machine, not serviced.. whatever) anyway... I decided to just go for the Mystic Spray Tan because there was no way my fiancé would drive 10 minutes to another location. Here's where I'm annoyed 1.) I worked at a tanning salon 2.) and I have been going to this smaller tanning salon chain in LA since over 10 years, mostly tanning beds but also spray tans every now and then, and I've never heard of charging an additional $5 dollars for the bronzer that goes into the machine. In fact the different bronzer shades are already installed in a 1/2 gallon bottle inside the machine. I thought id pay $7 dollars for the week to try it all out.. and ended up paying $12. I mean don't false advertise. $12 was still a reasonable price but still... shouldn't charge $5 additional for every spraytan. I'm glad I didn't purchase a monthly membership for spraytans. That means if I go 4 times a month that adds up to an additional $20 dollars for the bronzer for their $49.99 EFT. I thought.. maybe it's just a Mystic Tan thing.. and asked the girl if the Versa Spa machines have this same system. She said Yes! So I confirmed with her... "So $5 extra for every time I get a spraytan" it just doesn't make sense to me. Esp if I ever were to get the actual membership.. for just the spray tanning.. what am I paying the monthly membership fee for then? If I have to pay an additional $5 each time for the bronzer cartridge. The only thing that customers would ever be upcharged for was if they wanted a Tanning accelorator and/or sealer with each spraytan. That's like having a tanning membership and having to Pay an additional $5 for the tanning machine to turn on the UV lights. ITan overall is more expensive than the great salons I used to go to in The Los Angeles Valley,(Insatiable Sun Tanning, Sunset Tan and they're not some "hole in the wall" tanning salons with old carpet and 20 minute, level 1 beds, no those are really nice salons, with all the newest technology tanning beds, and reasonably priced) but I thought that ITan might have had a better monthly membership deal for the unlimited Spray tans, and after all at this time that's all I'm interested in. Now that I know that you're charged another $5 for something that should simply be already included, I most likely won't come back after my 1 week trial session. I'm praying that at least I'll have a nice tan by tomorrow. Otherwise I'll be super annoyed. Next day: it has now been over 8 hrs to let the color develop, haven't showered yet and I barely see a difference in my skin tone. I've purchased the Mocha Kyssed Tripple Bronze read more

Like this place quite a bit. Very clean with friendly staff. I can't do a 'real' tan any more because of some skin damage (I grew up as a sun-worshipping,baby-oil, coffee-bean bronze, so-cal beach girl) so I completely swear by their spray tans and use massive amounts of sunblock when I go to the beach these days. Stop laughing! For those of you that thought you would never try a spray tan, you simply have to give it a shot. The stuff has changed completely. They now come in different blends. So you can get the exact formulation that works for your skin tone -- no more orange! And that also means no more white legs with dresses and shorts! Yay. Seriously, give this place a try. But you really do not need to do the membership. No matter what they tell you. That is a pain, and you will probably forget to cancel it which will waste your money. So just buy what you will actually use, okay?! read more

Original Review: Decided to give spray tanning a shot for a weekend getaway, and it was probably one of the worst experiences by far. The gals at the front desk were very nice and informative (4 stars alone for the interaction and tutorial). However, the spray tan experience was not worth the money spent ($30). Refund, please! I was hoping to even out my existing tan, and came out with uneven results - one hand darker than the other, color variation from the top of my hands in comparison to my palms, itchy skin (broke out in hives), and tanning spray solution left on the soles on my feet. I placed protective foot guards on the bottom of the booth floor so the souls of my feet would not come in contact, but apparently existing tanning spray seeped through the guards leaving dark brown circles on the bottom of my feet :( Do they not wipe down the booths?!?! I did not notice until 4 hours after the experience. I tried to exfoliate, but to no avail - the solution would not fade or go away. I found out that a mixture of baking soda and lemon juice would whiten the color, so I will be trying that tomorrow (details to follow). I decided that spray tanning is not for me, so I'm sticking to natural vitamin D / sunshine :D read more

I used to really like this place and I don't often complain but the past two experiences I've had in a row have been disappointing. I came in wanting to use my package and found out that although my spray tans that I purchased were still 'in the system', they had supposedly 'thrown out' all of the expensive scents and accelerators that I had purchased. At the time I bought them they offered to keep them behind the counter and didn't bother to mention that they will just get rid of them at their discretion!!! The girl behind the counter cited a lack of space as the reason. Why did they even offer to store them them if they did not have the space??? When I came in today I asked to tan in the red bed. There is only one type of bed there that is red and the employee gave me a blank stare and acted like she had no idea what I was talking about unless I mentioned the exact make and model of this tanning apparatus. I did not appreciate the attitude and was even more perturbed when I finally got to the bed and noticed how dirty the room, bed, and fan were. There was a big layer of dust on the rim of the bed and the fan had globs of dirt and dust in it built up over time. I couldn't help but think 'this fan is going to be blowing that all over me in just a few minutes'. I used to only go to iTan because when they opened it was well-kept and the customer service was top notch. I hope they will get back to that again! I have 5 more tans so if things improve I will update this review. **UPDATE** within a few hours of writing my yelp review I received a phone call from Jill the new manager of this location. She was very gracious and offered to make things right by replacing the lost scents and accelerators. She also apologized and assured me that she would go over the cleanliness of the location herself. It was my first time there and the girl at the front desk was really helpful and sweet. I've gotten other spray tans done before, but done by an actual technician. I got a mystic spray tan and I could not hear a single thing the machine said. I was basically just standing there confused the whole time and hoping I got sprayed correctly. There was no dry time, and I walked out wet with bronzer dripping off of me. I had to blend it out myself afterwards and use a hairdryer to finish drying. It was as serious trust the process kind of situation, but ended up turning out alright. OK experience overall, but probably never using a machine again. read more

iTan Mission Gorge is great! I give FOUR stars for the following reasons: 1) Great location to my home and parking is almost always a win situation unless it is Sunday after Church hours; restaurants near by tend to fill the parking lots. 2) It is very rare you have to wait for a bed; booking appointments for the body wrap and hydration stations are easy! 3) Most the girls behind the counter are friendly and willing to answer any questions. I cannot remember the girls name who took the time to help me understand the hydration station but if I could I would leave her a great review. The first time I went into the hydration station the girl put the wrong setting on and my session was over in less than 15 minutes. No big deal; now I know should it not be set correctly. I give this location a FOUR out of FIVE because in the evenings guys tend to hang around the front counter on occasion which can be a little unsettling. I do not feel comfortable always putting my first and last name out there with some stranger an ear shot away. Overall, I like this location!!! I have been a member here for many years. Today I will never set foot in this place again it was 10 till 9 and when I asked her if I could tan she rudely rolled her eyes at me and let me tan for only 7 min instead of 12. When I asked her why she rudely told me they were closed and for me to get out I told her it was rude for her to speak to me the way she was and she said she was going to call the police if I didn't leave . I have never been treated with such disrespect from an employee here in all the years I have been a customer. Today I will be canceling my membership. Im warning others not to get a membership here.
