She gave my teenage daughter a completely brand new look, took her time to get it perfect, and made sure we were both satisfied every step of the way. The salon is comfortable and kept very clean---and another employee was also there and easily chatting away with me to pass some time while I was waiting during my daughter's shampoo and conditioning. As soon as you walk in, you are greeted, and just get a sense of confidence knowing you've picked the right salon out of all the choices along Metropolitan Avenue. I had a wedding at 5pm. Made a cut and blow for 1pm. Got there 12:45pm. Pretty much no knowledge at all. At 1:25pm she said few more minutes.. 1:50 came and i got up and left. No consideration of ppls time. You dont have a client sitting there for over an hour and thinks it's ok. I had to come home and attempt to do my hair in 30 mins. Worst Salon I have ever visited in my entire life. My reg salon was booked up so decided to give this place a try. I wanted my highlights and color touched up because it was grown out. Showed plenty of pics of warm brown with honey/ caramel highlights. Told her several times I don't want white or yellow bleach highlights. Just warm up my dark hair a little. She shook her head ok. I tried asking questions to see if she understood. She did not speak english. I showed the other woman the pictures and explained. The two women continued on to carry on an extra loud conversation in their language for hours while I had hundreds of foils in my head burning. They were sloppy with slapping the bleach and foils on. Dropped combs and the paint brush on the floor. Did not get new ones just carried on yammering away as if I was not even sitting there. Horrible and unprofessional experience. How they have clients and remain open is a wonder to me. My hair is fried and damaged so badly the entire structure is changed and has not bounced back no matter how many trims, Olaplaex, and K18 treatments I get. Stay away from this hole in the wall unless you want your hair fried off to a dried out straw mess. I wish I could sue them for damage that's how bad it's been. read more

They took a walk in before me. This is not the first time this has happened. Two other times I also had earlier appointments and the gate was closed. This poor review is a long time coming. To be fair, Aida is a good hairdresser. In fact, I once wrote a glowing review on Yelp stating that. Here is what happened in the last year that has made me rewrite my review. I don't know what is going on in her personal life but something is off. In September of 2022 she cut and colored my hair. She did a great job. However, getting the appointment was a hassle. She didn't answer messages, texts, phone calls or her social media pages. I was not a first time client. I'm not kidding, it was almost like begging to get an appointment. Now, time for a follow up cut and she tells me that she is in the salon only Friday and Saturdays. Um, what?? This is her salon. What owner is only available two days a week?? I'm not taking off from work for a damn hair cut. So, I went elsewhere. Now, the salon I went to was fabulous but further from my home. My gut told me to stay away but Aida then told me, she will be there on Thursdays, so foolishly I made an appointment. I thought about canceling but didn't. Today I had an 11am appointment. Two women already there when I arrived left. I can only assume they were waiting on Aida. The assistant didn't know where she was or if she would be in, even. Her lovely assistant finally gets a hold of Aida and puts me on the phone. She tells me flatly that she's running late. It's 11:30 at this point. She wouldn't be there until noon. She wasn't apologetic or even offering to discount my service. I was pissed off and left. I did get a beautiful cut from the salon that I went to while Aida decided to not see clients on the weekdays. I don't know if she has an established business somewhere else or she is no longer feeling her profession but this was unprofessional and really rude, especially since I'm not the type to be difficult. If I can give this place, zero stars, I really would. The staff is so rude. They are not helpful. I had bleach sitting in my hair for over two hours and when they washed it out, it was blonde but so white. I was nervous about getting my hair dyed here because they were so forgetful and so rude and maybe wait 2 1/2 hours before I got my hair dyed. When I had them several times if my hair is OK because I have had a bad bleach experience before they took my hair and pulled on my hair and yanked it from the scalp. They were so rough. They were so brutal and it was not OK. Only go here if you are a fan favorite of this place, because if you are not, you'll be forgotten about and you will have bleaching your hair for longer than needs be. Never. Go. Here. The worst hair experience of my life. My hair is still fried and I'm going to go get a cut off tomorrow because they ruined my hair. This is the absolute worst salon in middle Village. I came in for a trim and to dye my hair dark brown. I asked for 3 inches to be cut off and she chopped above the middle of my back! Apparently you have to be known here for decent service. Made an 8:30 appointment via phone days ago (even confirmed via text) to then show up today to a location that wasn't open. When the location finally opened 15 mins later only one hairdresser was in and already had a client. I was finally seen after 40 minutes with my daughter and we have to leave at 9:30. The inconsideration of a business to treat new comers this way will prompt me to always say "stay away from this salon like the plague" to every one I know in the neighborhood. I am almost excited to see the immature excuse and response from the owner as there is no way to make up for leaving us high and dry on communion day. I went in with an already faded blonde balayage from a different salon and had shown a picture straight from this salons instagram. Wow! This review is so late in the making but I went to this salon last year (possibly early spring?) as I wanted gray hair. Yep, you heard right, gray... and my hair had all sorts of color in it from years before, it still had the green I colored it with before, it had pink tones from previous dyes as well and all the other stuff. They had to bleach my hair and boy, did I stay there for hours, but I knew it was gonna take long. I personally love the result, it was more of a gray-blue but I did love it, it was pretty close. My girl was Vita and she was amazing! I also requested Olaplex (a must for any hair processes, I must say). The salon was small but it was really clean and they also let you know how much the cost would be before you agree to it and they start, which is amazing! No hidden fees here! read more

This salon is a hidden gem! After having a bad experience at a previous salon I was on the hunt to find a salon that had great balayage results. I was able to call this salon and make an appointment right away. The salon is very clean and inviting. The ladies here are very professional and polite. My appointment was for 11:30am but I didn't leave the salon until 4:30pm! But it was seriously SO worth it. The ladies were very nice and even offered to order me some lunch because my process was taking very long. I truly appreciated how attentive and detailed my hair stylist was. You can tell she is very passionate in what she does and it definitely shows with my hair color/cut results. She gave me the most gorgeous blow-out as well. My hair has never looked/felt this great! I love my hair!!!! These women did an amazing job!!! Gave me exactly what I wanted. Shout out to Everything Hair Salon on Metropolitan. Their services were amazing. Definitely making this place my regular go to salon. They made sure I was always comfortable and happy. They were so sweet and polite they even ordered me food and picked it up for me. The place was clean and well kept. Most importantly they did an amazing job on my hair. Process took literally all day but she wanted to make sure I was satisfied and got the goal look I wanted and she achieved it. EXTREMELY unprofessional. I called yesterday to make an appointment with Aida. I was told the following morning had openings and I would be called back that day. I wasn't called and I figured I'd look somewhere else. I should have followed my instincts. I was then called this morning and told to come in at 2 pm, even though i had requested a morning appointment. I made it work and I arrived on time. She was blowing out another client so I waited patiently. 15 minutes later, she has different client go to the sink to be washed. I ask if she taking another client because I had an appointment. The other stylist there says, "Yes, that client was waiting but I can take you after I apply the color (dye) to my client". Initially I agreed but after a minute I left. Aida didn't even speak to me. Don't bother with this unprofessional salon. Was wary to book an online appointment, but no one picked up phone even though salon was open. (1030am). Booked an online appointment for 130, it was quickly noted as approved and I was good to go. At 115pm got a phone call to say they were already booked at that time and the only appointment was at 3pm. Mind you, I was already just down the block from the spot. I agreed because I really wanted a cut. I walked around the area in the cold until 245 (no car and no sense taking public transit home to take public transit back). Arrived at 245 only to find the owner telling me their foot hurt and couldn't see me. What a waste of my time. Rude and unprofessional. read more

I was looking for a place to do a soft bayalage. I don't like ombré, or orange anything like that. I randomly was walking on Metro and walked into this salon. I was nervous at first bc I never touched my hair. I was greeted by Ilda and I am so happy I met her. She is so sweet, and cared for everything I wanted and made me feel so comfortable. I showed her pictures and she did a soft bayalage (espresso light brown blend) and it looks so beautiful that I wish I did more bc it blended so natural. I've been a client of Aida's and going to her salon since 2015. Every time that I've gotten my hair done or a hair cut, I've had some type of issue with it. But this last time put the nail in the coffin for me. And it's a shame because she is really nice and I feel like we kinda connected since we both have twins but unfortunately I didn't feel like she appreciated me as a client and I felt like she was a little unprofessional. I called to make an appointment at the salon and I couldn't make an appointment. Either her mailbox was full or the voice machine wasn't set up. Either way I couldn't make an appointment that way so I had to call her on her cell phone to make an appointment with her. She picked up and made my appointment with her personally. The day of my appointment she was a whole hour late and I had another appointment to get my nails done right afterwards because I was going on vacation the next day. He other stylist opened the salon and kept calling her to tell her that I was there. The stylist kept telling me that she was on her way but she wasn't showing up and I know she doesn't live far from the salon. When she finally came in she said that she was sorry and I think she didn't realize that it was me. She wanted to take me right away and I told her that I couldn't because now she ran into my nail appointment time and I wasn't going to be late for them because of her. So she told me to come back when I was done with my nails so I did only because I really needed a haircut because like I said I was going on vacation the very next day. When I got there I still had to wait (mind you my 5 year old daughter was with me the whole time). After she cut and blow dried my hair, she charged me I think $50-$60.00, meanwhile on her price list it says wash, cut and blowdry $40.00. Not only did she charged me more what the price list said but she didn't even bother to give me a discount knowing that she was a whole hour late when I had an appointment originally. Great customer service and a great way to say I'm sorry for having you wait all that time! I should of argued with her but I figured you know what I got what I wanted and I just won't ever come back here again! And I'll just leave a comment on here. I eventually found a new place but it's sad that people really don't care about there customers and forget all about customer service! She should of fixed her mistake and tried to make me happy! Clean, beautiful and attentive salon with the friendliest staff. Since it stands out for its pristine look and professionals it tends to overpack but worth the investment.
