The menu is Turkish and German fusion, which makes when you know how the doner kabob has become a German fast food staple. I've gone a few times now and had consistently great experiences. From the just the right level of eccentric inside, to the wide patio outside, the environment is comfortable and fun. Their food and cocktail menu changes often. There a few mainstays, including their doner options. Their lamb doner version is the only one I've found in the US I like (I have to remember to ask without peppers, not a traditional ingredient). Their cocktails are fresh, inventive, and interesting. I've tried a variety, and they do a consistently good cocktail. Supergeil is a reliable go to, good quality, reasonable prices, and great service. I'll be back for their patio season.

From the moment I walked in, the ambiance transported me to a beautiful Mediterranean garden, with its gorgeous tiled floors, lush greenery, and warm, inviting atmosphere. It felt like a refreshing escape right in the middle of Detroit's historic cobblestone streets. It was the perfect setting for a long-overdue reunion with my sorority sisters, and Supergeil was incredibly accommodating, hosting our group of 14 women in the middle of Grand Prix weekend without missing a beat. We kicked off the evening with a few appetizers to share, including the hummus, deviled eggs, and meatballs. Everything arrived quickly and was an instant hit around the table. The standout was definitely the hummus, served with fresh, homemade pita that was unbelievably soft, fluffy, and packed with flavor. The meatballs were also delicious, perfectly tender, juicy, and well seasoned. For my entrée, I ordered the popular lamb and beef döner, and it absolutely lived up to the hype. The portion was generous and beautifully presented, overflowing with crisp vegetables, fresh lettuce, garlic sauce, hot sauce, and the most tender, savory lamb and beef. Around the table, others enjoyed the Turkish ravioli with spiced beef and pork, more döner, and a variety of salads. Everyone loved their meals, and we couldn't resist passing plates around to sample a little of everything. It's the kind of restaurant that's perfect for sharing and enjoying with a large group. And what would a girls' night be without cocktails? If you're a fan of Two James spirits like I am, you're in for a treat. The bartenders create incredibly inventive cocktails from a seasonally rotating menu. I stepped outside my comfort zone and ordered the Open Kettle, made with coffee infused Doctor Bird Rum, cola reduction, coconut cream, and Underberg. It was unlike anything I've ever had! It was rich, tropical, complex, and with just the right kick. It's an absolute must try. Another crowd favorite was the Purple Gang, featuring lavender vodka, lemon, and butterfly pea tea, which gave it the most stunning purple hue. To finish the night, we ordered all three desserts to share: the burnt sugar tres leches, strawberries and cream, and the hot brownie with cinnamon ice cream. My favorite was easily the tres leches. It was light, creamy, and perfectly balanced with the crunch of burnt caramel and the subtle sweetness of coconut, it was a creative twist on a classic dessert. The warm brownie with cinnamon ice cream was pure comfort and a chocolate lover's dream, while the strawberries and cream offered a lighter finish with sesame brittle and hibiscus, creating a unique combination that reminded me of an elevated granola paired with a glazed donut cream. From the beautiful atmosphere and attentive service to the creative cocktails and delicious food, Supergeil delivered an unforgettable dining experience. Whether you're planning date night, catching up with friends, or celebrating with a large group, it's definitely a spot worth adding to your Detroit restaurant list.

The restaurant is easy to miss, located on a main road. They do have a small free parking lot. The interior is small, intimate, casual, and unpretentious. At my second visit (my first was several years ago when it first opened) my friend and I came late in the afternoon on a Friday. I'm not sure if we came at a slow time (we were initially the first customers there) or that the Chef was training a new service, but we received VIP treatment. I've occasionally had chefs check in, I've never had service from the chef before! He discussed the menu, as well as his intention for the restaurant. I love Moroccan tea, and the tea service they provide is just lovely. He is certified in tea, and incredibly knowledgeable. My friend and I started with the mudammas fava bean dip, served with pita chips. This was so fantastic I would return just for it. Creamy, just the right balance of flavor, topped with fresh veggies to add texture, I cannot say enough good things. I had the lamb tagine, and she had the kafta meatball batbout. The meatball is listed as a sandwich, it is in house made flatbread. Both dishes were amazing, so fresh and flavorful. The lamb shank was fall off the bone, the couscous was loaded with fresh vegetables. I ended up stopping in for lunch again by myself. I had the harissa potatoes and the flava bean soup, and a slice of pie that was a special. Everything again was fantastic, but it's the potatoes that you will crave after having once. Crispy and brightly flavored, soft once you bit in. I was able to try one of the Chef's teas, and hear a bit more about the restaurant. While the bread for the meatball batbout is made in house, the bread for the fish and chicken sandwiches he obtains locally. I like how engaged he, and the restaurant as a result, is with the community. Chef Omar treats all of his customers as welcomed friends. A quick note that the restaurant does not have any alcohol. They offer alcohol free wine and other beverages. Be aware of this, but do not let it deter you!

Got a few looks sitting down but always open for new culture food so we got a booth. Got some water to drink and thought we'd look at the menu which really didn't know what we were looking at. Super nice waitress and friendly staff, decided to ask what do we get! So we started with some hummus and bread, not sure what to call it, then decided on a meat platter that had lamb beef, chicken, satay rice this was really good! I'm sure I'm not doing it adjusted by not calling everything the right thing, but we did start with a lamb broth that was out of this world! Everything had flavor, the dips and relish's were yogurt and then very spicy peppers and I loved it. We couldn't stay long and had to leave couldn't eat everything and wish we could've taken it with us but good food. Good service you need to come try this out.!!! highly recommend!!!

If you want Yemeni food in metro Detroit, Sheeba or Yemen cafe is the most well known. But I want to give other Yemeni restaurant a try. Everything looks good, big portion, hot and fresh once it arrive. Haneeth, or other meat dish probably need more seasoning or spice. Kinda bland compare to Sheeba or Yemen Cafe. Strange thing is that if you order coffee or tea, you have to pay a different tab, because their cafe use a different account.
