We checked out this spot on a friend's recommendation while visiting from Chicago, and we were not disappointed! I had the fried chicken wings with a salmon croquette on the side. The chicken was well seasoned, and nice and crispy. The potatoes were also very tasty, and the salmon croquette was also great. They do serve alcohol here, but at the time we came they were out of a lot of the alcohol needed, but that just means they've been busy. There was plenty of parking in the parking lot. The dining area isn't large, but there was no wait for us. We came on a Saturday morning, and while there were people there we were still seated really quickly. The staff was very nice, and helpful while ordering. Someone was celebrating a birthday while we were there, and we all sang "Happy Birthday", it was great! The biscuits were the reason we were sent here, and they did not disappoint. Fluffy and thick without being too dense, and drenched in honey.... I see they offer a dessert with a scoop of ice cream in between the biscuit, and if I weren't so full then I would have definitely had this. The parking lot is large, and full of spots. We attempted to dine in here we were greeted promptly by a gentleman to get in the cafeteria style line. There was a large group dining together so they were deciding their order collectively. Lobby is small/crowded, made ordering a challenge -- not much room to review the menu when others are waiting. Food was good, coffee was OK -- yet for the price, we won't be racing back. Service was sparse but OK. The building is a renovated old gas station. The inside is neatly packed with janky tables and chairs, and the walls are decked with very cool art, and the dining area has lots of natural light coming in through the many (and only) windows on the west side. Large outside seating area and a decently sized parking lot. After ordering they hand you your flimsy small cups for self-serve coffee and bring out the food when ready. It was ready pretty quickly. For $75 the four of us had coffees, the lox bagel, a BLT bagel, a potato bowl, and waffles with fried chicken. $75! Tried this new restaurant down the street from my apartment. I love to support local businesses. A new black owned business in the new center area. The restaurant is very small so I would advise to go early. I went during the weekday around lunchtime. It wasn't super busy when I went but as I sat there, I noted that more people started to come. Seems like a pretty nice spot for a quick lunch break. I ordered the BLT with extra bacon. The bagel was amazing, the bacon was thick and hickory smoked. One of the best BLTs I've had in a while. My sister's boyfriend heard about SYT on a local news show and wanted to try it. So, they invited me to join them for brunch today. We were surprised to see that it was pretty obviously a renovated gas station; there's no mistaking the size & shape. We didn't realize that it was the kind of place where you order at the counter & they bring you the food when it's ready. For drinks, they gave us plastic cups and directed us to the fountain area. My sister and I ordered the chicken & waffle, and her boyfriend had chicken wings with potatoes & biscuit. And therein lay the problem: apparently, they can only broast a dozen chicken wings at a time, which was how many we had. But the two other tables also had wings -- just not as many. So, one of the cooks came out and explained this and said he was making ours fresh, which basically meant that the tables that came in after us got their food first. We waited a full 45 minutes for our order. Once we did get our food, we did enjoy it. The wings were super crispy, and the waffles had a lovely nutmeg flavor. But they definitely have a problem with timing; three tables (a total of 9 people) should not overwhelm a professional kitchen, but it did. read more

The kind woman taking our order took her time with each guest. She patiently explained the menu, where to get our drinks, then waited for everyone to place their orders. I mean the chicken tasted good, but would have been better if it were HOT. All the food was room temperature. Even the potatoes, waffle and biscuit. If you're in the area, stop by. Great brunch option! The food here is so good. I got the chipotle smoked turkey club and it was so flavorful and a little spicy. I love that they use pickled onions on it, it works really well together. The inside is pretty cool how they've repurposed this building. It's a bit small but they have a nice patio area as well. The service was great, but because the kitchen is smaller my food came out later than everyone else in my group. When I come back I'll probably get takeout just for that reason. read more
