Tuna Zep (w tomato, onion, pepper hash, sweet pepper, provolone)
    Gerald S.

Eve's Lunch is a traditional Norristown Zep joint that has been turning out "Zeppelins" since around 1938. (You know - dirigibles/blimps!) What is a Zep, you ask? It is the Norristown version of a hoagie, made with a locally baked chewy fat roll stuffed with deli meats or salads, and garnished with thick sliced tomato and onion, and finished with oregano, olive oil and optional hot pepper hash and/or sweet pepper. No lettuce. Today was my first. A delicious tuna Zep loaded to overflow with excellent tuna salad and all the other ingredients listed above. The roll was a standout; a perfect texture with mildly crunchy hide. First bite told the tale. I loved the taste and chew as well as the overall experience. The medium sandwich (half a roll) was a challenge to devour. With drink, about $12. Reasonable in today's world. Maybe not gourmand, but unique enough to qualify as first rate foodie. Eve's is nothing fancy - a utilitarian lunchroom full of chip racks and cold drink cold display cases. The service is in the rear where friendlies take and make your order. Payment after eating is a nice touch. 4 Zeps with a bullet!

Total consistency here ... and that's not easy when you're serving A+ cheesesteak zeps for decades.

Always a great place to get a Zep! We have been coming here for years and it's been consistently good every time. We've tried a few of the different zeps including the classic Zep, tuna and cheesesteak. They offer many other zeps and sandwiches here as well. Service is pretty quick and there's seating if you want to enjoy your meal there. They also offer sides like chips and fries to accompany your sandwich. Great sandwich shop for any Zep lover to check out!

Excellent ! Super fresh roll, tasty cooked Salami and unique, but delicious thick cut tomato and onions. A little oil to top it all off, as soon as I finished I wanted another on.

I wish Eves was a chain bc a lot of places could learn from this establishment. Eve's is well known in the area for the quality of their menu items, particularly cheesesteaks and sepals. They do not skimp on products or quality. A medium size cheesesteak is more than enough for lunch. I am very particular with my bread and Eve's is superb. Counter girls are very nice and respectful. Def recommend if you are in the area.

Although I've always heard about Zeps, I never tried one. They are distinctly different from a hoagie in that they have just one type of meat, provolone cheese, tomato, onion, oil, and oregano. I tried this Norristown tradition - the Eve's Zep and it did NOT disappoint. The roll and ingredients - Spot on! Also ordered the homemade peppers on the side. Can wait til my return visit to Eve's Lunch! 5-Star all the way!

They have a solid happy hour menu (one of the few places around that still does half off apps without changing the portions) and weekly specials are great, too. My favorite is their taco Tuesday. $5.00 margs (they make their marg mix in house no pre-made surgery stuff!), $2 tacos, and $12 enchiladas which is a healthy portion and very fresh! My go to for appetizers are their honey way wing bites and the eggplant! As far as entrees go I always rotate between their salads and the short rib melt. Sometimes I wish the melt had just a bit more of the horseradish cheddar (I have asked for extra in the past) but overall it is very flavorful. Their menu does rotate every so often. Many things stay on for a while but if you see something missing, that is why! The owners work extremely hard and are always present. Wait staff is always friendly, too. Give this place a try if you haven't already!

I am a restaurant manager for over 20 years and I don't give 5 stars out lightly. Mom had the crispy chicken sandwich on potatoe roll with onion rings for an upcharge but they were well worth it! Most places the onions are greasy and overcooked, these were perfect. I had the grilled reuben with sweet potatoe fries for an upcharge with a side of creamy horseradish sauce. Again spot on perfect, to die for, sweet potatoe fries were a thicker cut and cook to perfection. Both our lunches came out together and for dessert I had the PJ's Cookie Crunch Bomb with vanilla ice cream, cookie/brown bites, chocolate/caramel sauce and whip cream. At the specific location, I happen to find myself there one afternoon for a beverage while my wife was at the spa across the street. Initially, the bartender was very attentive. But, as a shift was coming to an end she didn't seem to want to serve any further. I cashed out with her and realized that I had another 45 minutes of downtime. I was going to have one more drink, but the new bartender didn't look at me or pay attention, to her defense, she may have thought I was just sitting there until I wanted to leave since I've paid my bill. The place was very dark, and the layout a little convoluted. Most of the locations in this chain are Bright and airy. This place came off very dark. The service and inside lighting we're not good.
