One of the best value and hardest to find lunch places in Blue Bell, We're On a Roll is worth the search. HA...we're on a roll. I love puns, and with the magnificent yelp reviews and where's waldo search, I knew I had to make my way to this lunch place. To assist you on your search, you have to look for Building #17 (if you put in the address to google maps, go straight back to the furthest building on the right), then go through the side doors of the office building, walk straight back, hang a right, and it's on your left. Be sure to come early as the line is frequently out the door - walk up to the counter, order your subs (be sure to grab the myriad of chips an drinks before you go) then sit down and relax. There is also outdoor seating overlooking the pond. I ordered the Turkey Sub and an order of french fries. The fries are a home run - served fresh, hot, and crispy - my only regret is that I didn't order two. The turkey sub was legit - about eight inches on a fresh role with freshly cut tomatoes, onions, and lettuce. The turkey itself, however, is deli lunch meat, a little bit of a downer after an otherwise magnificent and very affordable lunch. The serving size is filling but won't put you to sleep at your desk. All-in-all, I'll definitely be back to We're on a Roll, and it's one of the most affordable and best lunch places you can find.

Unfortunately, the experience didn't live up to the reputation. We ordered Philly cheesesteaks, and while I was ready to taste something iconic, what I got was a black pepper overload. The seasoning completely overpowered the meat, which was disappointing. Even worse, the bread-to-meat ratio was way off. My roll was soggy, and no amount of mayonnaise or ketchup could save it. We also ordered onion rings and chicken tenders for our toddler. The onion rings were fried to the point of being rock hard. Not crispy, just tough. The chicken tenders were dry and flavorless. Our toddler ate some and said they were "good," but even she didn't want the leftovers the next day and neither did we. Hubby said to be fair, the staff was sweet and very accommodating, which we appreciated. However great service can't cover up subpar food. Sadly, High Steaks missed the mark for us, and in a city known for doing cheesesteaks right, that's a big letdown.

I might have to get her a pin that says Biscuit Pusher because she owns that title! The cashiers are friendly, management is attentive, and they genuinely want you to have a great experience. If there's ever an issue, they fix it right away. Tara, the owner, is amazing. Even when she's busy, she makes it a point to check on guests and ask how everything is going. She makes suggestions to make your biscuit sandwich selection go to another level. That level of engagement goes a long way. The quality of the biscuit is always on point. The biscuits for their sandwiches are flakier and much better. If you think you have twenty-years left to live, you might want to knock out a few things on your bucket list before ordering. They have a sign that says something like this isn't fast food and there isn't anything fast here at all. The staff and customers all agree with that slogan. No one is hiding it. A few weekends ago, we waited over 45 minutes like idiots for our food. I had a $50 gift card, most went to this meal, and I was ready to walk out. Sadly, I didn't complain to management, because the line was longer than the line to order food. They said refunds would take one week and the people who said they really would never come back, had the managers get their food quicker than ours. It's an interesting business strategy to ensure the angry customers who won't return got their food first, but I get it. If less people frequent this place, then the lines won't be as long. They even said there was no manager on duty. Anyone watching the staff work would know that no one was lying. No utensils, napkins at the tables, just people sitting there waiting for their to-go order and then freeing a table later. If you are one of those weekend people with nothing to do until you have some structure at work on Monday, this is the perfect place to waste most of your day, to get you that much closer to work. Sweet treats are alright, nothing special. Breakfast sandwich could be worth it, but you could also go to the worst grocery store in town and make your own better biscuit and sandwich in the amount of time you have to wait. $8 left on our gift card and in a perfect world I'll misplace it.
