I was thrilled to see that Harry's has moved from Center Square to Ambler. ( didn't know- it happened last fall!) Beautiful historic building, big windows in giant vaulted room with a loft area and tables. I found same great variety of beers, same menu, great chill vibe. Bartender Kelly patiently filled me in about move and stuff, very kind and attentive. Granted, lite post lunch patrons there, but she was cool to linger and chat. Besides amazing architectural detail complete with classic pics from original space, we enjoyed a grilled peach flatbread that was excellent ( was chowed before pic could occur!). Beer was cold, fresh pint for each pour. I'll return soon to catch up with Harry who is a good dude and enjoy the scene again.

The last stop of our vacation. We wanted someplace near the hotel and we opted for this nice restaurant. Parking is off site. We parked a block down. Because it was Sunday, the parking was $1 an hour. It's a nice uphill walk to the restaurant. Entering the restaurant, it a nice atmosphere. It's a bar, so it's not quiet but not really loud either. There is upstairs seating it you do not want to be around the bar patriots. We decided to sit downstairs towards the back to take everything in. The high arch's being in a lot of natural light. I love the open concept of the establishment. Our waitress was very nice. She gave some good recommendations. The drinks flowed steady and we never had to ask for a refill. 5 kudos stars to you. The bbq pulled pork tater tots, hands down the best thing on the menu. The mixture was unique and delicious. The burgers were juicy and cooked order. The shrimp tortellini was good. Overall a good experience.

Harry's Taproom is a relatively new restaurant to Ambler. They have a beautiful open concept restaurant, with lots of light provided by the arch windows. There is a generous bar with rather large tv's. Our waitress was really nice and accommodating (when asking for ingredients off of a burger/etc sauce on the side). The burger was juicy and the bbq was a well-rounded sweet but also savory sauce. The chicken tenders were, well, average chicken tenders. (nothing wrong with that) It was an enjoyable night! Thank you Harry's Taproom.

I am not disqualifying their experience but it is very odd it was so different. It was a hot, humid, rainy Saturday and the A/C was just fine when we got in. I will admit my first view through the door was a little hesitant but push on in and it was fine. The design goes for a comfy industrial setting. They have a good selection of beer and cocktails using a lot of local producers so there is a wonderful chance for you to find what you want to drink. The prices on the menu looked a little steep but the servings were generous and the food was very good. I had the best wings I've had in a long time with a nice crispness to the skin. My wife and I had a good time and found it lots of fun. If I was going to suggest a change it would be some sort of uniform for the servers. Hypsters in comfortable clothing fine but the issue is they blend in with some of the customers. I was talking to one guy thinking he was a server. It's one thing to be comfortable but professionally you need to stand out from the customers. but otherwise, this was a great time.

After getting seating, we waited nearly 20 minutes before our server stopped by. She poured us warm water (seriously!) and took our drink orders. We waited another 15 minutes for 3 of the worst mixed drinks. Turns out they had 2 novice bartenders working that didn't know what they were doing. (From our server's mouth!) We paid our tab and left for much better establishments down the street.

Parking can be tight on the street, but there are municipal lots nearby that make things easy. They usually have around ten beers on tap, a solid mix of styles that changes often enough to keep things interesting. There are a few TVs, and during slower weekday hours they keep things cozy by only opening the bar area. On weekends, when the place fills up, they expand seating into the section by their brewing area. If you're just grabbing beer to go, they sell four-packs of their own brews. For food, you can either take your beer into the market's food court or bring your meal back into the brewery. Both setups work fine depending on what kind of night you're after. If you are not a beer person, fortunately there are Stateside seltzers, and Surfside hard iced teas available. A relaxed local spot with good beer, friendly people, and a nice addition to Ambler's growing brewery scene.

But when we finally had the opportunity to get a reservation at Mary, I felt compelled to write one. It didn't just "not disappoint", it exceeded every expectation we hoped to have. We sat at the bar, which gave a cool bar vibe with our own bottle of wine (which you don't always get at BYOs), and we had a clear view into the open kitchen. Plus, the service was perfectly on point throughout the entire meal. We started with the ceviche, which was a very generous portion for us to share, and absolutely delicious. I was planning to order the burger, but when the waitress told us it was always on the menu, I opted for the blackened swordfish... and, boy, was I glad I did. My husband got the pork chop; I snagged a bite and it was amazing, too. Both entrees were also very generous portions, and my leftovers were just as good the next day (maybe even a little better once the flavors blended together). We finished with a brownie dessert, and when we finally got the check, we were pleasantly surprised at how reasonable it was. Overall, it was one of the best dining experiences we've had in a long time, and I can't wait to go back and get that burger!!

What really makes it unique is the fact that you can place your food order and then go grab a craft brew in a plastic cup and then walk back to get your food. Or, if you prefer to bring your food to the bar area, you can do that too. We had a hankering for burgers and wanted to give Lucky's a try. I'm glad we did and it was an enjoyable experience. We ordered a share basket of fries which were perfectly cooked crinkle fries. They had ketchup available as well. We each got a burger, one classic and one Oklahoma style which had two patties. The classic had more of a Kaiser roll whereas the Oklahoma had a potato bun. The meat was fresh, not frozen and cooked nicely on a flat top. The onions on the Oklahoma were sliced incredibly thin but for some reason were not soft enough to bite through (my only disappointment). It's easy to find as the doorway is right down from Rita's on Ridge Avenue. Give it a try!

Since they are not open for lunch during the week I made sure to stop in on a Saturday in November to grab a burger. Normally I'm a burger purist but on this trip I decided to go with their Oklahoma Onion Butter Burger and a side of fries. I paid via credit card when I ordered.(they were not accepting cash). After about 10mins or so my order was ready. The burger has (2) patties and onions. Flavor was on point but the overall size of the burger was small for me. I could have easily eaten two of them. The side order of crinkle cut fries was equally small and they were just warm. Overall the meal was good and I would eat here again. However if I'm craving a top notch burger I will probably choose one of the other options in the area.
