I've been here twice and both times for a breakfast burrito. I will give a warning, though... Nobody there seems to hardly speak English at all, so make sure if you order, you are very clear and concise about what you want. First time there I wanted a burrito with chorizo and potato and found out when charging, they gave me 1 chorizo and 1 potato burrito. It was delicious, but I just paid it and had to throw one away because I wasn't clear enough in my order. BUT, with that said, a Mexican place where they don't speak English is the best food so I have no prob with that today I was able to get the burrito I wanted last time and it was really good. The burrito was served hot and grilled lightly so it wasn't trying to fall apart on me. I do wish they could have given me 2 hot sauce instead of just one, though...1 just isn't enough. We ordered breakfast burritos for pickup. The guy that answered the phone said he was really busy and it would be ready in 30 minutes. My husband got there in 35-40 minutes and the guy hasn't started the order. My husband was ok with waiting. We got 4 breakfast burritos, trying all of the ones they offer and they were ok. Family owned, everything made fresh, but aside from a couple of the meats, nothing stands out enough for me to give this more than 3 stars. I may have felt differently before I found better hole-in-the-wall stuff in the HEB area, but now there is just no comparison. On the lunch side, we've had just about everything and the lengua, carne asada, and al pastor are definitely the standouts. Really flavorful and consistently so. Barbacoa and carnitas are okay choices. I would also recommend burritos and tacos over tortas, which were not well assembled or memorable. Decent rice and beans. On the breakfast side, we've ordered the shredded beef and eggs plate, chorizo and eggs plate, and chorizo and egg burrito. Beef was good, but the chorizo was a big no. We thought maybe the first time was a fluke, but it was just as bad the second time. Overcooked, flaky, dry, no real flavor. Not good. And the potatoes that come with the breakfasts are dismal. Not browned, no flavor. Chips are really hit and miss, and when they are a miss, they are really a miss: rubbery and cold. But the salsas/hot sauces are outstanding. The house salsa that comes with the chips is downright addictive, but I am also a big fan of the bottles of spicy red and green that come with the plates. Service is super friendly, although it can be a bit of a wait for the food when they are busy. Prices and portions are reasonable. I may stop in again here and there, but honestly, it's moved down on my list for top choices when I am craving local Mexican food. read more

I am so glad I decided to try this place this morning. It's a little hole in the wall but those tend to be the best spots! I've drove by it so many times and I was pleasantly surprised how good the food is. It felt like I was visiting home and my tias were cooking. The two little ladies were super sweet. She made me the best cafe de oja. My son ordered carne asada tacos, it was flavorful and the meat was good and had no fat. I had the breakfast tacos, they were delicious. Let's start with no dedicated servers. Poor cook had to both take dine in and to go orders and of course cook! The food was way overpriced for the less than quality ingredients used. The chips definitely store bought, and was served the bottom of the bag. the sauce not housemade and thin with a vinegar taste. When I received my food the refried beans were room temp to cold along with the frozen potatoes used for the side as papas. The flour tortillas store bought and not made from scratch. My main course was juevos rancheros and that was the only good thing. The ambience is dark with a lot of pics of days past in the Mexicano culture and revolution. When we went to pay we learned the card reader was down. So we had to go to an atm down the street unfortunately the restaurant couldn't cut us a discount per the cook who had only been there a week. All in all this place has been here a while and I learned that they've changed owners. I have a feeling it might have been good in days past but feels like they're cutting corners on the quality the food is severely lacking. We were greeted and seated right away by Kenya I believe she said her name was. She has been there for only two but did a great job. We both got the number 8 lunch combo I got beef Will (my son) got the chicken. We both like our meals. I typed my lunch off with a Jarritos (lime flavor) The breakfast menu was plentiful and if you're looking for a Tex-Mex breakfast this could be your spot. We didn't try it, yet but utt looked and sounded good. I woukkd recommend 2nd this place off your looking for authentic style food. But if yiur looking for glitzy stuff this isn't the place for you. Wow- I just had the best brisket street tacos ever and have to thank Yelp for guiding me here!!! I am in the area for five weeks and this has been one of the highlights of my trip. I consider myself somewhat of a foodie and seek places off the beaten path and try to avoid chains. This place provides super friendly service, amazing Mexican service, all at very reasonable prices. I got the 4 street taco meal for only 7.25 including free chips and salsa. I am telling you-- order the brisket street tacos and you will thank me!! The meat is so tender and the cilantro and onion flavors just meld into the brisket. You get a slice of lime with each taco as well. The outside of these place is easy to miss but trust me once you come inside you will definitely want to return. I have to go back to Florida tomorrow but when I am in Dallas again I will return. Can't add a lot to what has already been said about this place. I go here once a week! Evita and her daughter are very attentive servers. The old man does the cooking and the meats here are a masterpiece! Get the street tacos. Any meat you select will be seasoned wonderfully. They have been in business for years, but change of ownership has change the flavor of the burritos.

I may be picky but I like warm chips and salsa, some restaurants like this one serve cold chips made earlier that day probably. Anyways, I stopped in for Menudo since it was the weekend. Not my favorite. I didn't even finish it, not sure why that was. It wasn't as flavored, less seasonings maybe. Watery and dull flavor and somewhat chewy (fatty chewy) more than normal I actually spit some out it took so long to chew. I'll try again soon and maybe something different. Picked up breakfast this morning! Amazing as usual .. the green sauce they serve is the best around .. it doesn't matter what you order .. I have tried it all and it's all good .. today I got two breakfast tacos on corn tortillas one with ham and the other bacon .. husband got a big breakfast burrito add potatoes and beans to his( with whatever kind he orders ). I spent a lot of my live in New Mexico and West Texas where my family followed the oilfield. It is where I found a love for real Mexican food. From the hole in the wall diner's to the roust-a-bout crews that gave me homemade tacos and such from their lunchboxes. I've been looking for those flavors in the DFW for a while now. There are plenty of taco stands down northside that are close, but still missing something. Well I finally found a legit Mexican food restaurant. I'm not talking about all the tex-mex junk you get all over the place that say "authentic". It was nice to see enchiladas with a sauce that didn't come from an old el paso can as well. The chips were the only thing I wish they would work on, but they are still good. Also, I hope they get a verde sauce as well soon. Amazing tacos. I ordered one of each meat and they honestly have the best lengua I have ever had. This place looks like nothing special on the outside and when you walk in, some people might consider it a dive. It just reminded me of the neighborhood places I used to go as a kid. Plain and simple, I you are wanting to see what real mexican food is, this is a place to give you that and change your thoghts on all the tex-mex everyone around here seems to think is real mexican food. read more
