more like a 3.5 out of 5 stars. I normally hate review chains, and i was surprised this place has multiple locations all across DFW. we ended up getting the doctor torta and a carne asada burrito. The price for the torta was a bit high, but when we got our food, we completely understood why they charged the price they did. The torta portion is HUGE and can definitely feed two people (not unless they're extremely hungry. lol) I really enjoyed the doctor torta, it was really delicious. Even through this place has the word torta in it, they also sell other items as well. And they have a counter in front that sells mexican sweets. However, you definitely need to get a torta when you come here. Either get the Cubano or the Doctor, and i'm sure you won't regret it. i also heard the churros are great, and while i didn't get it... i'll be sure to get it next time. read more

What abysmal service. They made a mistake with my order, and when I called to let them know, they told me the kitchen hadn't made any error and demanded that I send them photos of my food. I was only calling to point out the mistake so it wouldn't happen again on a future order, but they simply said they couldn't do anything because the owner wasn't there, and they didn't want to lose their jobs. I can't give them less than one star, but if I could, I certainly would. Terrible service. I do not recommend them; if this is how they handle every mistake, I now understand why the place is empty. read more

Chose this one because it had smoked ham and melted cheese (how could you go wrong). The cheese was gooey and the ham was thick! The beans inside added just the right amount of flavor. OMG this place is ridiculously delicious!! Let me first begin with my boyfriend and I were torn on what to order because everything sounded great! They have their menu items in Spanish, but underneath it is in English which is fantastic. The young ladies taking the orders are pretty quick & patient. We were not rushed to order and they answered any questions we had. I ordered the torta de fajita and added queso fresco & jalapeños. It was amazing!!! The torta was huge and they did not hold back with the ingredients. It truly tasted homemade I was so impressed! The red salsa has a nice kick to it & the agua de horchata was great!! I was a bit worried about ordering the horchata because not everyone can make it, sometimes it's way too sweet. But this place has nailed it down. The bathrooms and lobby was super clean! I'll preface this by saying this was our first experience with this place, albeit a disappointing one on one hand. I got the Doctor's Torta, which was delicious! Ham, cheese, pork cutlet, and pineapple, with some avocado and tomato as well. The bread was fluffy, the meat was hot and crunchy, and the cheese was melty. All good things!!! The Carne Asada burrito however, was not a good thing. Mushy would be the best word used to describe it, that being the only texture throughout. The beef was mushy. The tortilla was wet and mushy, and all the other ingredients fell into lockstep with that same adjective. MUSHY. As a plus, the Churros were delicious, and crispy, filled with dulce de Leche. This is a great-looking place and very clean, tidy and modern-looking place. I think it's perfect for bringing in the "gringo" crowd into a legit Mexican torteria. But, the food was gringo-tier and I was a little disappointed. I had been told that the tortas were "huuge" and "massive" but they were about the same size as a $9 torta from just about any other taqueria or torteria, only these are $14. The ingredients were fresh and the bread was soft but was lacking on the ONE crucial ingredient that ties alllll the flavors together: salt. Now, too much salt can ruin a dish but not enough salt can ruin it just the same as was the case for my first visit. Also you might be thinking that I may be someone who over-salts their food but you'd be wrong. The red sauce also wasn't that spicy, not what I would've expected from salsita roja. I'd go back if I were introducing some gringo family or friends to tortas but the next time I want an authentic torta, I'm going to North side Fort Worth. read more

He got me hooked from the first time we ordered the Milanesa Torta and the SUPER Torta de La Hechizera that literally had everything you can think of! The Milanesa torta was definitely my favorite, because the super torta was a bit much for me! Good thing we went half-sies on both! BUT WAIT. There's MORE! First time going and the food was awful... we should of took it as a sign when the place was empty. We got the enchiladas and tacos. The enchiladas smelled like the chicken had just been sitting in water and the tortillas weren't even cooked. The salsa verde tasted like pure lemon.. had no taste at all.
