Delicious. My parents said the fajitas were the best they had ever eaten. My husband loved his enchiladas, and I had an assortment of street tacos. All very good. It was a little difficult to satisfy the member of the family who has a cilantro allergy, but the fajitas did the trick. Going in, I thought it would just be your typical Tex-Mex restaurant with a big menu, where nothing really stood out and nothing would be good, just everything average with the big draw being the drink menu & the daily specials . I was pleasantly surprised as I ordered the Carne Asada burrito with queso. To be fair, the place reminded me of Chuy's but the burrito was much better in my opinion. So I saw a suggestion on a FB page and JJ's happened to be about a mile from our house. Several people talked about how great the food was. So we have it a shot in a Thursday night. This place is really nice inside. Lots of TV's mounted on the walls and plenty of room. It wasn't terribly busy this night but we were seated in a booth and then our super friendly waiter was over pretty quick to get our drink order. We heard great things about the chips. They weren't kidding. We had a big basket of fresh and tasty chips delivered with some good salsa. Decided to try the guacamole and glad we did. They are generous with their portions. Very good guacamole too. I ordered the steak Asada enchiladas with refried beans, Mexican rice and the quest sauce. My wife ordered pretty much the same but with the burrito. Honestly it was just ok. The quest sauce was so thick it overpowered the enchiladas and the meat was just ok. The rice didn't have much taste and the beans were just ok. My wife said the same about her burrito. Hi Yelpmates. Hope you're all healthy and happy, or at least ..in pursuit of.. Oh sure it gets difficult, but it's possible. Back from Florida at last and I have a beef already. Well not 'a' beef, but lots of it. Juicy, tender, seasoned beef. Yes. Right inside a stuffed creation too good to just be a simple quesadilla. Went to JJs taco shop in the mall. No. This is not mall food or close. This spot should be brick and mortar like Unle Julios or any other big spot. Their flavors are too big for the mall. This que had tons of steak. Probably twice the portion you get at Pappasitas and a few other top spots with their own roof. This was seasoned, seared, and onions and peppers were just as boldly prepped. The shell? Buttery, toasted on the grill. Cheese? Yes please, lots. It was like an order within an order bought elsewhere. I took a pic of one part opened up. All that's meat, onions, cheese, peppers, more meat. Lawd Steakmercy! I didn't ask for it to be that loaded. They just feed us like were family here. It could feed a couple. I didn't finish. Couldn't and this was my first meal today waiting for it. Chips and salsa to accompany. They season and heat the chips. That is going the extra mile to be better than you expect, but deserve. Have been here many times, but each time, I just feel like they're getting better. So let's talk tip guilt. I usually don't tip unless they offer sit down service, or are family owned. This is family. Why the guilt? Because I tipped in advance to go. Got home and the food flavor and portion exceeded my tip. I felt like I should have pulled out the stops so tomorrow I'm going back to correct this travesty. I tip good. They cooked better, exceedingly better. My taste buds made me feel bad about my tip. Ever had a moment like this? If yes, it's because you have good values, and appreciate workers and businesses that take pride in what they do. Feeding someone is supposed to be intimate. Most experiences eating out don't feel intimate because pride is gone in so many places we dine. No connection between them, their food offering, and the customer. Not at JJs. It's abundantly clear they want you to know a real person cooked for you, and just you. Not a corporate focus or ethos to cut corners, but customer centered, person focused. Every time, every detail. I don't even want to brush my teeth just yet savoring what just happened. Imma wait on it bout an hour or so. Any sooner would be disrespectful. Anywho. Love yourself people. Love live love yourself. Take care of yourself, your loved ones, your community. Share in the struggle even if you did okay, retired early, and don't have too many struggles. Share the struggle for your community. They were good, served with homemade sauce for dipping. The kids plate code with fries and a drink. It was a nice plate for the $. My husband had three tacos, the pastor, carnitas and chicken and I had chicken and carnitas. Our favorite was the carnitas. However, we both noted they were not warm and dry. This was my first time trying this place. We did a to go order then drove 30 minutes home to Haslet, to notice we were missing the queso for my nachos. My husband called and was greeted by Josh, with the most exceptional customer service we've ever seen. They had a staff member offer to drive to Haslet and deliver the whole order fresh after we were missing the one item. The food is amazing. I'm a huge fan of their queso and nachos. I was told it comes with elote, which I thought was great. I get home and there were two avocado tacos and one chicken taco and no elote. Use to be the best little taco shop , but the last three times we've gone into eat here it's like all the servers are on drugs . Everyone we get queso they "forget" to put the order in even during times they might have two table sat they still screw up the orders , my daughter ordered cheese enchiladas he brings out quesadillas... the queso never came out this place is going down hill quickly . Everyone that works there is always doing nothing but sitting around but no one can get the orders correct ! We had to literally ask for our stuff to go after sitting for 30 minutes waiting for the queso we ordered then the waiter asks if we wanted to put that in like I did dude 30 minutes ago .... I get that you probably hire high schoolers but can you possibly find some with brains ? This is always the worst service but now we can't even get the food we ordered at all . That's if they can remember to put the order in the computer they are holding in their hands. Until my boyfriend and his buddy went a few weeks ago and the manager came up to them and told my bf's buddy he owed them money from a previous visit saying his card never went through and he owed them $. Which never happened! Later on i guess after looking at cameras it was the wrong person. . Before confronting someone maybe get your facts straight. He was very confrontational and demanding. Stopped for lunch on Friday. Salsa was our only complaint - tasted like spiced tomato paste. We had tacos, burrito and chicken plate. Everything was presented well and tasty. Everything we have had here is delicious! They are not stingy with the food and portions are perfect. Price is on point for the quality and quantity of food. They have lunch specials from 11am to 3pm and then happy hour from 3pm to 7pm Monday through Friday. They double stack the corn tortillas for their street tacos and crisp them just enough they have a little crunch. The meats are all marinated and seasoned well to have really good flavor. And they have dessert. And, the best part of all, service is great!!! It is hard to find decent to good service anymore but everyone here is friendly and attentive. Love this place! read more

Not good all around. We ordered queso, it never came. Our waitress never came back to check if the queso showed up, never refilled our drinks, didn't offer water. When the food came out it was lukewarm at best. I ordered the grilled shrimp taco and let me tell you that shrimp had never seen a grill in it's life. It was obviously just frozen and then heated up - I mean, maybe it was heated up at one point but it was cold when it got to me. My biggest issue is that it's on the premium taco portion of the menu, the restaurant is clearly listing it as a GRILLED shrimp taco and charging an extra dollar for it. And obviously lying. Our waitress didn't come back to check on how we were enjoying our meal until the very end when we had to tell her that all of our beans were cold when they came out. She took them back to be reheated but it's like - where were you 15 minutes ago? I don't want beans now, I'm done with my meal. I let her know that the queso never came out and to please make sure that wasn't on our check and she said "oh, okay." No apologies for being absolutely neglectful. Like sis, this is literally your fault that it never came out - take some accountability. Examples...I wanted 3 street tacos (1 chicken, 1 carnitas, 1 pastor) and was told I had to order a beer to get that...? Strange. I ordered a beer, not a big deal, but odd--especially considering that is your staple. What if I was under 21...can I not have tacos? Tacos were ok and they were cold. I asked for a side of cheese, and I got the smallest ramekin of cheese I've seen, it was maybe a tablespoon of cheese. Table salsa is bland, very tomato paste tasting...so definitely not fresh and is from a jar/bottle. Wife had a shrimp salad, which was huge and had fresh lettuce, dressing was properly sized, but had like 5 shrimp in it...hmmm. I hope I was there on an off day, but it's progressively gotten worse each time I've gone. Beer is cold and they have a decent selection, but don't forget about the food!! read more

food was not very good, we got the migas and the brisket scrambled eggs. the mexican potatoes were not very flavorful at all and the silverware smelled weird. we should've known how it was gonna be when we walked up and everyone had 3 or so drinks at the table. so clearly the draw of this place is the drinks, which they seemed to have a lot of specials for. the staff was nice. if you like drinking you'll like this place i suppose, but if you don't drink don't bother. i also got a cup of coffee which smelled crazy but i don't think that's their fault. i think they just don't have the best coffee, which is fine, i wouldn't expect them to have crazy life changingly delicious coffee. this is a taco place. 2.5 stars but ill round up to 3 too many weird smells read more
