I've been eating at EVO for over 13 years and will continue to do so. In the category of what I refer to as fancy pizza, they are my favorite. The salads are great, the pizzas are great, and my favorite pork trifecta still hits the spot every time. With that being said, I have noticed some changes over the years. The meats on the pork trifecta have all changed and in my opinion, to a slightly lower quality. Obviously, prices and suppliers change over time at a business, but I do miss the old way they used to make it. I also have been getting a different cook on it each time. Sometimes it's got a heavy char all around and sometimes it's too light and no crunch. As I started with, I love EVO and will continue to go, but I hope they can get some consistency back to how they do their pies. It's not cheap and for that reason I expect a superior product. read more

I've been to EVO Pizza a handful of times and always enjoy it. It's a great spot to meet up with girlfriends--everyone orders different pizzas and shares, which makes it fun and easy. They usually have different pizza specials going on, which I like, and the menu keeps things interesting. They also have a good wine selection and really yummy salads, which is a nice balance if you're not just there for pizza. Service has been pretty good every time I've been. It does get crowded and loud, especially during busy hours, but overall it's a solid spot in Park Circle and a good place to gather with friends. read more

We tried EVO Pizzeria while visiting Charleston recently. It is located just off Park Circle. Since it was near the holidays, the circle was lit up with tons of holiday lights. We were lucky with parking as someone was leaving a street spot as we arrived. The restaurant has a nice ambiance and was busy on a Saturday night. We had a bit of a wait but that was mostly because of the size of our party. They really only had 1 spot to seat or party of 9. We ordered the focaccia bread appetizer with oil and red sauce to dip. It came to the table warm and was crispy on the outside and soft on the inside. We ordered a cheese and pepperoni for the kids, a cheese calzone, a pistachio pesto, and a butternut & mushroom pizza. The pizza comes in 12" only and are thin and delicious. Mt personal favorite was the pistachio pesto. Wow, was it tasty! I will dream of this pizza for a long time. read more

This is a cool fun spot to get some really good food. Ellie took care of us and she was attentive and personable. We had some beer to start with. What goes better with beer than pizza? We ordered the featured special which had prosciutto cooked on top. It may have even been fried. It was salty crunchy deliciousness. We tried the Margherita pizza with chicken and also tried the pistachio pesto pizza and the fennel and frisée salad. All of them very good. Evo makes good artisan pizza. Give it a try if that's what you're looking for. If you're looking for down home NY style pizza, this may not be your first choice. It's certainly worth trying! read more

I finally ventured out to EVO in Park Circle to try their Pistachio Pesto pizza since I had been curious about it for a while. The 12" thin-crust pie comes topped with pistachio pesto, Split Creek fromage blanc, ground pistachio, creme fraiche, mozzarella, and Parmigiano Reggiano. Flavor-wise, it was delicious and definitely a unique blend of light, nutty, and creamy. That said, for $19, it felt more like a personal snack than a meal. The portion is small, and for the price, I'd expect something more substantial. Personally, I'd pay around $12 for what I got. I'm glad I tried it, but it's not something I'd go back for. The service and ambiance were also very average. Park Circle is fine, but it's not my favorite part of Charleston, and with so many other great food options in the area, I'll be sticking to other spots. read more

It usually ranges from 35-55 minutes every time we've gone. The service has been decent, nothing bad to report but not a standout either. Inside is small and cute. I like that it isn't huge. We stopped by at 1pm on a Sunday and asked for a table for 9... we knew it was a stretch, but we had heard great things from friends who were here a few years ago and we knew it would be worth it. We put our name in and were told 90 minutes to wait. We walked around the cute treats and 20 minutes later I got the text saying our table was ready!! The bread was fluffy, the marinara a perfect complement Wood fired olives - I was expected charred olives. I'm glad I was wrong. These had a cozy-grilled flavor that wasn't overpowering. Featured Salad: artisan lettuce, pickled red onion, Kurios Farms cucumbers, roasted brussels sprouts, bacon, toasted sunflower seeds, blue cheese dressing - great! We're usually a ceasar salad with pizza sort of group, but this salad was reason to make a departure. Pistachio Pesto pizza - amazing. Our favorite. It was nothing like I expected. It was almost like cacio de pepe made into a pizza form. I do wish I would have noticed it didn't have a protein and consider adding chicken, but not because of the flavor. Very good pizza in the Park Circle area. I like that they had some unique things I've never seen before (butternut squash and caramelized Parmesan sauces; say what?!). Went with a Pistachio Pesto pie with some added roasted mushrooms. Between the sauce and the wonderful cheese, it was a rich pizza. It was a pretty good representation of a Neapolitan style crust; I was pleased with it. Anna took good care of us. The ambiance is low key; typical dine-in pizzeria feel with a higher class of pizza. My suggestion would be to have a few more pre-arranged pizzas at the $20 price point; if I wanted to build a 3 topping veggie pizza it would have been at least $24 instead of the $19 for the pizza I ordered. The other thing would be to offer more drinkable ales on draft. Pizza is heavy and I don't think a Belgian ale and a porter are good pairings. They do have pilsners, etc. in cans though. read more

We ordered takeout, so I can't speak on the ambiance or service, but I will say that we called at 5:30 PM to place a takeout order and it was ready in 15 minutes which was very timely! We ordered two pizzas - pepperoni and cheese. The pizzas are 6 slices. If you are moderately hungry, I would recommend getting 2 pies for 2 people. We had no problem finishing them both. The crust was thin and crispy with a great flavor. The pepperonis were flavorful. Next time, I would definitely like to branch out and order some of their specialty pies. The restaurant is located in Park Circle in Charleston. Be patient because the area can get a little crowded, but this place is worse, circling the block twice. There was maybe one other table available and a seat at the bar, but the place quickly filled up and there were patrons waiting. It's been a long time since we've been to Evo's Pizza and I will have to say that it was so much better the second time around. The first time we went, we didn't feel the pizza had enough of that wonderful wood fire pizza dough crispiness. This time we specifically asked to make the crust If you have dark and that did the trick The salad here are really good and our large enough to share if you're also eating pizza . The wife and I started with and shared a special salad of the day with mixed spring greens and a very nice vinaigrette . We also ordered and shared a Margarita pizza. The pizza had a nice dark crust with a delicious tomato sauce and fresh mozzarella. The fresh basil made for a perfect bite, and I only wish that they had more. basil on the pizza. I didn't get a chance to go inside, but I did sit outside and enjoy the patio and overall ambience on the street. Service was great our waitress was very friendly and constantly checked on us during lunch.we ordered a calzone and two custom pizzas and all of it was amazing! This is one of the most unique, tasty pizza places I have ever tried. I came here with some friends, and we tried the pistachio pesto, blanco , and speck/calabrian chile. All of them were delicious. The blanco came with cheese, basil, and an awesome balsamic glaze. The speck/calabrian chile was slightly spicy, and came with lemon artichoke pesto, chile, arugula, scallions, and some cheesy deliciousness. At 12" each, these were incredible portions even for the hungry eater. I also appreciated the drink selection, from fruity sours to wheat beers and everything in between. I made sure I got sat elsewhere. I ordered the #1 pizza that everyone raves about...the pistachio pesto pizza. Sorry not sorry...but not great. It tasted like nothing . I had to throw garlic and spicy pepper flakes on to it. Then I ordered a side of red sauce..which at $2 I would finished it all....all said things to doctor it up. I also like my pizza crispy...mine was soggy. My beer however...the vall Halla lager...was good. Maybe ill give them a 2nd chance. Now let's flip to their bakery in the back. Okay, the food is good here. Really good. But overall, my biggest takeaway from this place is that it felt unprepared to accommodate the number of patrons. Our pizza took 30-40 minutes to come out, which we brushed off because it was quite busy and crowded at the time. The restaurant emptied a bit towards the end of our meal and when we asked how long it would be for another pizza, our server told us the kitchen said it would be 30+ minutes. While we were waiting, our server never came back to update us or see if we wanted to order any other starters even though we had said we might (and would have done so once it was clear that the pizza would be a long wait). Like I said, I really enjoyed the food here. And had I been prepared for the wait, I would have ordered some other things so I wasn't starving by the time the pizza arrived. But that kind of wait, especially without an update or check in from the server, wasn't the best experience. read more
