Let me start off by saying, Melonie truely has a passion for hair and her number one goal is that her clients are 100% satisfied which is always the case. She has been doing my hair for years now, I wouldn't let anyone else touch my hair but Melonie! I had resently read a review from a yelper by the name of ALLE.M who wrote a bad review, not only did she write a bad review but i feel that was rude of her to go on and on about her expierance with Melonie and her alledgly being " unprofessional". I highly doubt that Melonie would take time out of her busy schedule to call someone and harass them. I have never expieranced or saw Melanie have this type of behavior in my five years of knowing her professionally and personally. I just think that this person by the name of ALLE. M was trying to be malisious and cunning by trying to give her a bad review because all of her reviews are possitive reviews from people who have actually been her clients for years. So she needs to take her broke behind to one of the "ghetto" salons that she was talking about (not Melonies) but somwhere that her broke behind can afford. Obviously this was too much for her so she wants to complain about her extenions and get her money back. Shes the one that's "Ghetto" and doing charge backs. Simply put, Melonie can make dreams come true! This girl was born to do hair and extensions. She literally transformed my hair from an awkward growing out Vicoria Beckham bob to the Victoria Secret hair of my dreams! She also put highlights in my hair...the best I have ever had! I am asian and she made my hair the perfect Honey beige. No brassiness whatsoever, and didn't damage my hair one bit. Melonie is extremely reliable and makes herself available whenever you need a small fix if you accidentally snag on one and pull the threads out. She is such a professional and super sweet. I went to Melanie for the highest quality hair I could get, since I was aware that some silky feeling extensions can have a coating on them that washes off and the actual hair is actually very poor quality. I trusted her that she would ensure the hair she chose wouldn't do this. (Oh and I gave this 2 stars ONLY since the other employees were nice) When she gave me my original consultation her young children were present who were very unruly and her son actually HIT ME and she did not discipline them.... perhaps a telling sign of her character, but I disregarded it. Anyways after she installed them they looked great and I was happy.... but just as I had worried, after I shampooed them with sulfate free quality product they started to get nappy, matted and dry. This is a common problem with cheap extensions apparently (as other stylists have told me). I felt very cheated that Melanie chose a product that would do this and wanted a refund and to have them removed. She was VERY RUDE TO ME ON THE PHONE AND CALLED ME CRAZY, AND OTHER NAMES. She had a 10 day guarantee after the hair is installed but spent at least 3 of them insulting me, and acting very unprofessional, hostile, and showing how immature she is for a 25 year old. I wanted a refund but she said "NO REFUNDS", so I showed her the matted hair (she was snotty the whole time I was there despite how nice I was and my requests that she not have an attitude with me since I was the victim here). After seeing that the hair had indeed changed quality she reluctantly offered to remove them at 8 in the morning but only after I made it clear this is all I wanted from her at that point. (I really just wanted her to calm down so I could just get the things off my head). YOU CAN TELL HOW PROFESSIONAL A STYLIST REALLY IS WHEN SOMETHING GOES WRONG, NOT WHEN EVERYTHING IS FINE. I did a credit charge dispute to get HALF my money back from Melanie and the other day she blew up my phone calling me names, using a story I told her about my personal life (while chatting in the salon) to insult me, and this is all after I was KIND ENOUGH TO NOT ORIGINALLY DO A WRITE UP ON YELP DESPITE HER POOR SERVICES. She is obviously very childish and unprofessional, not willing to take responsibility for her own mistakes. MELANIE'S "10 DAY SATISFACTION GUARANTEE" IS TOTAL BS. SHE is harassing me over $250 (when I lost $250 myself) and she works in a hole in the wall ghetto salon that should have been a sign of the quality I would get and her personal ethics. This review is just on communication, not any service since it never even got to that point. I hate leaving low reviews and I was trying really hard not to however communication with potential new clients and gaining new business should be valuable to a business owner. I had called during the week to schedule a consult and she was kind of enough to get me in on Saturday. I drove all the way to the salon location just to get there and have the salon people tell me that she wasn't coming. They said she tried to call me but my phone never misses a missed call and I never received one. And I never had a voicemail. The woman told me to call her and reschedule but since I was the one that was stood up, I wasn't calling ANYONE back. It made me very cautious about trying anything or anyone new in the future. BTW - I was so brave in even getting out of my car at the salon because let's just say it wasn't the best of locations.... But hey, I was willing to give the benefit of the doubt. read more

Melonie is a Magician!!. If you are New to extensions or Nervous READ THIS to calm your nerves :) I have never done extensions before so had no idea what to expect. But I walked out happy and surprised at what Melonie just created. First up Call Melonie and talk to her. Schedule a free consultation. I was able to have my consultation when she was working on another client. (Highly Recommend ). That way I could understand a bit more about all the techniques, how it looks, how it feels etc. Melonie looked at my hair quality and texture and recommended what we should do. Even though I was skeptical on how the end result is going to be I went ahead and scheduled the appt. On the day of the appt Melonie came with me to the hair shop and helped me pick the extensions. Trust me its ok to be scared but you need to trust what Melonie is saying as well. So I just looked at her and asked her "you sure these extensions are right for me" All she said was " Don't worry they are great " ok then. I was thinking "The worst that can happen is I will remove the extensions and go back to my original look" I have nothing to loose ( except the money, but i was ready to take the risk ) Melonie started to put layers of those beads and later attached/sewed the hair in there. After all the hair is added this stage is the worst of all haha !!! because the extensions have not been blended in and they need to be styled and cut. Blood pressure was raising at this point. I kept telling Melonie please do not cut my existing hair, don't do anything to them. ( this is because I wanted to have my fall back option ready ) Swear to god in no time she styled the hair and things just changed. I broke into my happy dance ( in my head ). I was so excited with the magic that Melonie had performed to enhance my look. I remember saying "Oh my god this is exactly what I wanted for so long but just didn't know how it would look" What happens tomorrow? Will they still look as good tomorrow? Will they be easy to style? will I be able to sleep fine with the beads in? What will my co-workers think? How did my hair grow overnight ? All these questions are valid and expected. I encourage you to think of all these things. Because you will find answers to all those questions in the following days. You will soon realize its very easy to maintain your new look. I felt that Melonie's personality is calm and friendly and she rides Harleys omg !! She was super flexible in accommodating my schedule and gave me guidance on how to take care of the hair and shampoo recommendation for my hair type. Give her a try you will not regret your decision. I was thinking of getting extensions for a while and literally woke up one day and came across Melonie's ad on FB. She seemed very knowledgable during our phone conversation and that made me comfortable enough to go forward. Melonie was even able to squeeze me in that same day1 Because of the last minute appointment I needed to bring my infant son and Melonie was super accomodating and very sweet even when my son was not. We walked over to a nearby store that sold hair and since I have four colors in my own hair I was not an easy match. Melonie would not settle until we got an exact match and I don't think most stylists would not have taken this extra time. (45 minutes!) Shortly thereafter we got started and voila..she worked magic! I was new to the area, so I was really concerned that I would find someone that could do hair extensions for my hair type (african american). However, in reading the reviews I thought I would try Melonie. Melonie was awesome from my first discussion and she did a good job to ensure me that she handles various types of hair and installation techniques. Melonie definitely did NOT disappoint; her prices are competitive, she is fast, she not only helped me pick out my new hair, but she colored the hair for me as well, when the color was not available in my desired length, she knows how to cut your hair so it doesn't look like it came out of a bag, AND I can wear cute ponytails without worrying that the beads would show through... and above all she is a joy to talk to.
