Loliette, my hairdresser, is fast, fun, and extremely artistic in helping a person decide what hairstyle would look good on your face and be compatible with your hair type. If I could give this salon 0 stars I would. Staff was EXTREMELY rude. My friend had an appointment to which the stylist Francisco was completely disrespectful to the client. She had made an appointment for a root touch up and cut to which when she sat down claimed "he didn't know she was a blonde". He had a sour attitude the entire time and you could tell he just didn't want to work. I'm extremely appalled and will never be going back to this salon. I've been going to Monica Ebrahimi for about two years now and I've loved every time I've been in her chair. We've done everything from highlights, cuts, ombre (that's my pic above, btw looks even better than in the picture and I've gotten numerous compliments), to color correction from having fuchsia pieces in my hair to the Brazilian blowout and more! Wish I could give it zero stars, the hair stylist was so rude and refused to do ANYTHING. Wouldn't dye roots bc my friend's hair was blonde, wouldn't cut hair with extensions in, said he couldn't do anything for her at all when she had an appointment. We came in at 9 am when the salon was empty and he refused to let us sit in empty chairs after the receptionists told us nobody would be in today to use them. For some reason, my first review of Dyan was filtered. Guess I was too positive! Yes, she has been my hairdresser for years, and yes, I love how she can cut my hair and the cut lasts forever before I have to go in and get another one, since it grows out and still looks good. The salon hair stations all look out on the street - some side street in LG, but if you don't like people watching you get your haircut, this is not the place to go. The only negative is that Dyan tends to run a little late... but I've always found it worth the wait. read more

LAURA MCDONNELL @ Aqua Salon inside the Spa of Los Gatos. Laura is the most amazing and talented stylist I have ever come across. From Ombre' to Color Corrections .. she's got it goin' on. This review is long overdue, as Laura has been doing my hair for almost 3 years -- but most recently, I cheated. (I know... I'm so naughty!) We recently moved to San Francisco and I found a really popular stylist on YouTube, who had all 5 star reviews on yelp. Long story short -- my hair was destroyed. Bleach bleeding, "Holidays," uneven application, orange and yellow tone everywhere, cheetah print, lopsided haircut... you name it. My roots were light in some areas and dark in others (see photos). I came back to Laura, expecting to get a nice firm scolding, but that didn't happen. Laura fit me in for a SIX HOUR color correction, where she delicately wove the finest weave known to mankind, and formulated different colors for my roots, ends, and tone. She knows hair. She knows how to manipulate it and she really puts her heart into making sure you leave looking and feeling fabulous. Did I mention my hair looks amazing! (Again -- see photos) [Mind you -- the stylist that ruined my hair said the only way to fix what my hair looked like was either color it brown, or wait two weeks and "try to add more blonde". She noted that 'No Stylist would attempt what I attempted in one appointment. Well- Laura did. And she did it right! Let the photos speak for themselves] Every time Laura has done my hair I feel beautiful. She really understands what I want, and touches base with me along the way. She is honest, communicative, and extremely skilled. I don't want to write a novel on here but seriously -- I love Laura. I can't believe how amazing my hair looks. I was in between stylists when my soon to be mother in law gave me a gift card to Aqua Salons space sharing sister/neighbor The Spa Los Gatos where I had a phenomenal massage and facial. Seeing the salon there and needing a new stylist (my previous one moved to NY) I scheduled a consultation for hair extensions for my upcoming wedding, with Laura. Confident after our consult, I booked her to do my extensions, and needless to say she did a fabulous job! Everyone raves how they can't even tell that they are extensions and how well they blend. Today I went back for a trim and root touch up. Laura matched my roots perfectly, and did a great job styling my hair. Furthermore, because I'm getting married next week, and my appointment was delayed by a half hour due to the appointment with the previous client running late, she gave me a sweet and thoughtful gift and card to take home based on my childhood nickname, which she learned about during our conversation. Who does that? Anyway, she does an amazing job, is super thoughtful, and I definitely have found my new stylist. Thank you! read more

I got my hair cut and Brazilian blow out from Rae Ann and she was fantastic! I had received a bad haircut from 1240 Salon in Campbell and was devastated :( I thought no one could fix my hair and it was hopeless! :( but I gave it a try and used a trubate to get a discount and the results were fantastic! she was very sweet and we had a good conversation, she knew what she was doing and made it clear that she was well experienced and does not stop learning new fabulous techniques and styles. She fixed my bad haircut to the best of her ability and provided me with a fantastically executed BB. Although the price was fairly expensive, even with the trubate 4 weeks later the BB is still holding strong and the cut is great and compliments the light waves in my hair :-) Finally, beach ready, easy to manage, soft, fantastic hair! This salon rocks! Nicole is amazing! This is the second time I come to here and this last time she literally saved my hair. I got a terrible haircut couple weeks before my wedding in a different salon where they literally shaved my hair using the texturizing scissors and not only ruined my length but also damaged the hair badly. Nicole took care of it like a pro and did a treatment that left my hair like silk and also cut it in a way where the length stayed the same but made some beautiful layers and improved the shape and texture all together. Horrible experience. Not ONLY was I there for 2 hours for a trim, I was told the cost was 65. Francisco forced me to pay 85. After I told him I was promised the price of $65, he argued with me for the extra 20. I only had $80 on me that he insisted that the price was still $85 causing a scene in the salon. Not only did you lose a customer, but I will be going out of my way to tell people not to go to Francisco for their hair cut. The extra $20 was supposed to be a charge for styling, something he did not ask me about. After telling them that I was not told about this extra charge nor did I give consent to it, he changed what he said and said that his price was 85 because of the length of my hair. read more

I've been a LONG time client and I've finally had it their sometimes-crappy stylists. As a side note it's also largely more expensive, both in services and products they sell than any other salon in Los Gatos (which is saying a lot). To be fair, I've had a few pretty awesome haircuts from there, but oh my lord today was A DAY. This week I wanted to get a cut and color from a stylist named T. I get a call the day before originally and they tell me it has to be rescheduled. Today I came in at the rescheduled appointment and literally waited 30 minutes for the T to show up (who was apparently not responding) finally having wasted enough of my day I left. I've had good haircuts at Aqua before but after today I'm taking my business elsewhere. read more

Update review because it's been years since my last one. 5 stars yet again. Over a decade of cuts, color, and babylights by LAURA and I'm still thrilled. She has consistently done a great job though all of my phases over the past 10 years... long & dark, to beachy blonde balayage and babylights, to short & pink, bangs or not, subtle or crazy, she does it all well. I just can't express my gratitude. I'm at the point where I give her a general direction and just let her do her thing, because she really has an eye for it. I use to go from place to place for my hair cuts and being a guy, you would think I could care less. However I was searching for someone who could listen to my needs, understand them and then deliver. One of the hardest things for me has been communicating the style I want and have the stylist get what I am going for (... and I'm not a complicated guy) but I do have baby fine hair that shows all shoddy work and is unforgiving to people use to corse or thick hair. Having recently moved to Los Gatos I thought I would try the Aqua Salon, as I have previously been to the Los Gatos Spa (Aqua salon is in the spa building) for some treatments and loved it. What a mistake. I had a 3pm appointment scheduled with Eve, who collected me from the waiting area at 3:22 pm. Not a word of apology for the wait, just called me and marched ahead to the salon. When I mentioned that I had been waiting for 22 minutes he said "I had other clients with appointments". I was a bit confused as I was certainly also a client with an appointment?? I responded by pointing out that 22 minutes is not really a reasonable time to let someone wait, at which his response was "this is not going to work out". My jaw literally dropped to the ground. He was arrogant, rude and lacked even basic customer service skills. I would have been happy with a mere apology for the wait... I have a 7 month old for which I had to arrange a babysitter. My time is very valuable to me and because of this arrogant fellow I will now not be able to have my hair done for the next month. I cannot speak for the other stylists, but I would certainly steer clear of Eve. I did report this incident to the spa manager, who will hopefully address the issue and save someone else to go through the same thing. read more
