I'm a 57 year old female and was lost and feeling physically miserable. I was almost to 200 pounds at one point. How had I let my weight go for such a long time? I knew I had some sort of emotional connection to eating: stress, transitioning to an empty nester, instability in my job, and overall "I don't care-ism". In addition, I was a picker (stoppickingonme.com) and my face was a mess. I did have inner joy through my faith, but I wasn't happy with my physical appearance. I tried lots of fad diets, most recently the HGC and then a 30 day juice fast. I could lose about 20 pounds, but because of the underlying issues I would return to my old stress eating habits. In August 2015, a friend told me about Ideal Protein and that she had lost about 30 pounds. Today, I am about 5 pounds away my goal weight of 140 pounds and FEEL GREAT!!! Not only has my body shrunk, but my complexion is CLEAR! An added and unexpected bonus because there's nothing to pick at! I'm feeling happy about the way I look and feel in my clothes (which are all new BTW). For the record, I'm a 51 year old male who had gone from being a competitive cyclist in college to weighing 319 lbs and suffering from multiple medical issues including Type II diabetes. I had gained an average of nearly 6 lbs. a year living the high-tech/high-stress lifestyle. Over the past six months, working with the staff at Ideal Northwest to follow the Ideal Protein Weight Loss protocol, I've lost over 75 lbs. That's after about eight years of yo-yo dieting on other plans and never getting anywhere. My wife, a physician, joined me on this diet -- both to "tune up" her body and to support me in the process. She did not have nearly as much weight to lose as I did, but it was successful for her as well. She's already hit her goal and "phased off." It has been very helpful to be doing the diet together with a spouse. After such a long history of unsuccessful dieting, I didn't realize it could be this easy to succeed! I just hadn't found the right diet program until Ideal Protein. Now that I understand the science behind the diet (which you learn in the very informative orientation), as well as the profound reduction of appetite that happens when you follow IP properly, I've gone from just wanting to drop 50 lbs, to wanting to wanting go all the way to a healthy BMI - which will mean losing a full 150 lbs by the time I'm done. As my best friend and now fellow IP dieter said to me, "If you're going to run a marathon, why bail out after 20 miles?" Friends ask me if it's expensive. It's actually saving us money to be on IP, and this is how: 1) We used to eat out a fair amount, but now that's only once a month or so. We all (our 11 and 13-year old sons included) prefer to eat the delicious, healthy food we've learned to cook at home instead. This saves us a small fortune ever month. 2) I've gone from seeing several health care providers a week before I started IP to only regular checkups with my internist. Since my A1C dropped from 8.8 to 5.8 after only 11 weeks (he was floored!) I'll soon only need to see my doctor once a year instead of every three months for a diabetes check. All those co-pays added up: MDs, surgeons, PTs, chiropractors, nutritionists, etc. And that doesn't count lost productivity at work. For that matter, coming off of diabetes, blood pressure and various pain medications has also saved me a tidy sum of money. 3) We've compared IP to other similar diets like 30/10 and have found it to be the most economical, probably because the others advertise heavily and are located in pricey retail malls. IP is a relative bargain. It's been easier than I expected to keep the food interesting, and the wonderfully empathetic coaches have gotten me quickly back on the rails every time I've veered a little off track. 4) I was facing the option of bariatric surgery, since nothing else seemed to be working. Three of my relatives had this, one with severe post-surgical complications, and none of them reached a truly healthy condition. One regained all her lost weight after pregnancy. Surgery is expensive in many ways, and recent studies are showing that for many people it doesn't even work long term. Without changing lifetime eating habits surgery will not work. So if you need to make these changes anyway, why bother with the surgery if you can get there on diet alone? We have several physician friends who did this before we did. They and my wife all confirm the medical stability of the diet, provided you don't neglect your weekly coach check-ins. In the past we tried other diets like Medifast, South Beach and Atkins. There's no comparison in the food taste and quality, nutritional balance and coaching that Ideal Northwest provides. The IP protocol, formulations and regimen have really cracked the code on doing this safely, and if there's ever an issue that arises - such as a nutritional insufficiency - the coaches are trained to identify it and deal with it appropriately. NOTE: not all clinics have the same caliber of coaches, so be sure to check out two or three different ones before you select your coach. I can only attest to the exceptional expertise - and compassion - of the staff at IdealNorthwest. Benefits so far: 1. CPAP pressure is already down 50%... looking forward to the day I don't need it anymore. 2. Surprising reduction in pain - overall inflammation. 3. Everyone tells me my skin looks a lot better. 4. Reduced blood pressure medication three times until finally coming off of it for good - after twelve years of being on it. 5. Reduced diabetes medications similarly. 6. Reduced pain medications from multiple pain killers and anti-inflammatories a day to just one anti-inflammatory for arthritis pain in my shoulder, to ensure a good night's sleep. 7. Wow. What can I say? Sherene is an amazing coach and this diet is incredibly easy to follow and has taught me basic principles about what I can and cannot eat in order to stay slim. I can't believe I just wrote that! This is the first time I've been even close to slim since I was a kid (I'm 41 now)! I have lost almost 60 lbs on this diet and Sherene is such a supportive and enthusiastic coach. I can't recommend her highly enough! She creates a sense of community with her clients on Facebook and is gentle when she needs to be but firm too...just as a coach should be. This review is for my experience with IP Coach Sherene K. @ Ideal Northwest. I started the Ideal Protein diet on July 2nd and so far, with Sherene's guidance have lost 30lbs in just under 2 months. Sherene has provided excellent coaching throughout the first stage of my weight loss journey. She is always very prompt when I call or email with questions. I usually hear back within 10-20 minutes of sending my message. She provides me with personalized answers to the questions I ask her, and not just general responses delivered via her from Ideal Protein. Her coaching approach has been tailored to my needs and concerns, which has made it much easier for me to follow the right path on this diet. I can share intimate details about my frustrations and side effects of eating a high protein diet (I'll let you figure that one out!) and I do not feel uncomfortable conversing with her about these issues. Sherene is extremely professional, intelligent, and passionate about what she is doing for Ideal Northwest because she herself is on the diet and having great success! I was referred by my naturopathic doctor to Ideal Protein for help with Type II diabetes and Metabolic Syndrome. I had gained 50 lbs and had struggled for years to lose it with "healthy eating" and conventional diets. I had heard of Ideal because several of my clients had done it (I've been a hairdresser for over 30 years). I was initially skeptical about the packaged food but having my Naturopath's endorsement convinced me to try it. Ideal Protein and the team at Ideal Northwest changed everything for me! Suddenly I was dropping weight steadily after nothing else had worked. I went slower than the 2-lbs a week others lost, but my coach explained that sometimes those of us with Type II go a little slower because we are more insulin resistant. After seeing my success, my husband joined too. He lost weight twice as fast as I did, but he also had more to lose. We found it so easy to do the diet together. He got more protein per day due to higher muscle mass but we ate dinner together and neither of us brought cheat food into the house which made it so much easier to stick to. At the end of the diet, he lost over 100 lbs (!!) and I lost 50! That was almost 6 years ago and I have maintained it - with a few "resets" here and there after holiday splurges and vacations. It's easy to follow Ideal Northwest's maintenance program since its basically the same as Phase 1 with fat and just a few carbs added back. I can't recommend Ideal Northwest highly enough. They are so knowledgeable and so caring! I go back for maintenance visits and I always feel like a member of the family they haven't seen for awhile. I've heard mixed stories about other coaches and IP clinics as well as 30-10 (which is a spin-off of Ideal Protein). It sounds like it's very hit and miss with coaching quality - some have never even done the diet for more than a few weeks themselves. But Sherene hires successful clients who have maintained their losses and who are all really cool, motivating and kind people. They are all amazing! Especially Izzy - she's a doll! Anyway if you are lucky enough to have found these guys you might just have changed your life forever. I have never had success like this in my life. And according to my coach, this is the NORM for their clients! It's easy, you're not hungry, the food is delicious (I still buy it for snacks) and you'll have support in maintenance whenever you want it. read more

I am a 46 year old woman who has always struggled with weight. Topping out at 180lb when my youngest turned 3, I couldn't claim baby weight any more. Sherene at ideal northwest is amazing! She is a supportive, knowledgable, and a coach who continues research to help her clients. I lost 82 lbs a few years ago using Ideal Protein. But, really, it's all about the coach and my results were a direct result of the one on one support I received. Don't bother with other programs. My doctor sent me to Sherene and it didn't take long to understand why. She still takes time for her maintainers. Hosting monthly get togethers and presenting useful, supportive concepts and ideas. I would give more stars if I could for both the program, the manager, Sherene, and the receptionist, Rachel. I have actually done 30/10 before, (but had to drop out because I got ill). Ideal Protein is superior in so many ways. The people that work there are better trained, the food tastes better to me, I found that it agreed with my system much better than the other food. There are a lot of rules that they have at the other place, but not at Ideal Protein, such as you cannot use Splenda or water enhancers at 30/10. This was miserable for me since I HATE Stevia. Ideal Protein sends you videos to watch frequently that actually educate you on what is happening with your body and so much more. Sherene really sets Ideal Northwest apart from the crowd. She has been there and knows what you are going through. She is the friend who cares enough to be honest with you, and she is amazingly knowledgeable about food and weight loss. Make sure that you go to one of Sherene's introductory seminars and I am sure you will be impressed, too. read more
