We purchased a 2-month-old bearded dragon from Cold Blooded Kingdom who never ate after leaving the store. Within about 24 hours, he developed a severe head tilt, began circling and rolling to one side, and lost his coordination. We immediately took him to an emergency veterinarian. He was only 5 grams and had severe neurological symptoms. The vet gave him a guarded-to-poor prognosis and listed adenoviral infection, possibly with concurrent coccidiosis, as the primary suspected diagnosis. We ultimately had to make the heartbreaking decision to euthanize him. When we contacted Sal afterward, rather than showing compassion or concern, he was incredibly rude and blamed us for the dragon's condition - even though we had owned him for approximately one day. Importantly, the veterinarian's report did not conclude that our care caused his condition and actually listed nutritional/metabolic disease and trauma among the less likely causes. We have the veterinary report, photos, and videos documenting the entire timeline. Losing a baby animal less than a day after bringing him home was heartbreaking. The way Sal handled the situation afterward made an already terrible experience significantly worse. I cannot recommend this business.

They shipped 5 animals that are territorial in the same container and they all arrived dead. I provided photos and everything they ask for and I was refused a refund. The nature walks are short too. And it's very accessible. Even a ramp all the way up to the look out point so people in wheel chairs can view too. It's shaded from all the mangroves and palms. And the tree that it's named after gumbo limbo! Which is a red tree that peels We attended the free 10:00 am tour which lasted an hour. It was mostly the tour guide talking who is a volunteer and very nice. Very enthusiastic. It was a little drawn out and we stoped every 10 steps but worth it. I took the stopping moments to take everything in and even spotted huge spiders. I forgot what they are called but there are the biggest ones I have seen and they are all over. He said they can bite but it's like a bee sting and not poisonous. And they stay off the path anyway. There are huge tanks of really big fish. The barracuda is huge and has the cleanest teeth. These fish are fed well. The place is kept very clean, there are a lot of staff to answer your questions. And there is someone even cleaning the outside of the tanks. They also have a sea horse tank. The butterfly garden is small, saw some zebra butterflies and I think a cardinal bird. You can walk towards the inlet and there is a small peaceful beach and picnic area that is covered. Parking lot is small but plenty of parking on a Tuesday morning at 9:30, but the time we left at 11:30 it was filled and there was a school bus. Figure 1.5 to 2 hours here. They also have a fish feeding at 12:30 but we were done before then. Would come back again!

This small but mighty facility rescues and researches turtles and other marine life but turtles mainly. Staff/volunteers are very friendly, informative, and eager to help. They have fish feeding and turtle talks not sure if daily or just weekends but check their website for schedule. Also check the weather because if there is lightning, they will close. This spot is free but you can make a donation in the main building to help support the education and research provided here. There is free parking but it gets full quick. However the place is not that large and it may take only a couple loops to line up with someone leaving. If not there is paid beach parking across the street along the road there. There isn't a food or beverage but maybe bring a water bottle if you plan on doing the overlook (especially as it gets hotter). They have a butterfly garden but we only saw one butterfly at the time. They have two tall tanks where they do the feedings that have fish, rays, and a couple turtles. They also have two smaller tanks, one with really large fish and another with smaller. There are some outdoor tortoises as well as a college Marine research area where you can watch them being studied and ask questions of the students there. The overlook is beautiful and provides a nice view of the intracoastal and a slight view of the ocean. There are a few interactive educational boards along the walk up the ramp. If you want a more direct route up or down, they also have stairs. The path also extends into the mangroves and along the way back to the main building.

I visited this adoption center today with the genuine intention of adopting a kitten. I was…read moreinitially greeted by two respectful and helpful ladies, who directed me toward the area where the kittens were located. Since I am 19 and was informed that I needed to be 21+ to adopt, I planned to have my mother on FaceTime while I looked at the kittens and considered my options. Unfortunately, the experience changed once we were introduced to another staff member. Her attitude toward both me and my sister came across as extremely passive-aggressive and unwelcoming. We clearly explained that we were interested in adopting a single kitten, but she repeatedly insisted that the kittens could not be adopted individually because they had formed bonds with other cats. While I understand that some kittens may benefit from being adopted in pairs, I had done research beforehand and felt that the situation was presented to us as an absolute rule rather than being explained on a case-by-case basis. We were then directed toward a room with older cats that were described as being newer to the center. There was also confusion regarding one of the cats' names, which further contributed to the experience feeling unprofessional and disorganized. When we asked to see the kittens we had originally come to meet, we felt as though there was very little effort made to accommodate that request. Instead, the staff member seemed frustrated about having to go "back and forth" and ultimately escorted us out of the building. I completely understand that adoption centers have policies and that staff members have to make decisions based on the animals' well-being. However, there is a significant difference between enforcing a policy and making potential adopters feel unwelcome or dismissed. We came in with good intentions and a genuine interest in providing a kitten with a loving home, so I was disappointed by the way the situation was handled. The first two ladies we interacted with were kind and respectful, but unfortunately, the interaction with the other staff member overshadowed the rest of the experience. I hope management takes this feedback into consideration, because prospective adopters should feel informed, respected, and welcomed when visiting an adoption center.
