I have been dealing with this gun store a number of times over the years and recently purchased a firearm and have placed two firearms on consignment and here is what I have found to be consistent recently and over the years: (1) Honest owner looking to make money (it is a business after all), but is fair and honest with his customers so as to get a customer for life and not to just make a quick buck. (2) Exceptionally trained staff, all of them seem to have UpToDate knowledge of Federal and (especially) State of California laws. And are extremely friendly, approachable and NOT aggressive sales people. (3) Good selection of firearms and accessories at reasonable prices. read more

Updated review: I recently returned to this shop with a friend who was interested in purchasing a firearm, and I'm happy to report that the experience was outstanding. Not only did they have the exact model she was looking for (coincidentally, the same one I wanted to purchase originally), but the staff was noticeably more professional and welcoming this time around. While my friend certainly turned a few heads--she's objectively very striking--what stood out more was the consistently courteous and knowledgeable service we both received. It felt genuine and customer-focused, which made the entire visit smooth and enjoyable. The staff was so helpful and relaxed that I ended up making a few purchases myself--completely unplanned, but I couldn't resist. It's possible my earlier experience was just an off day, and this visit definitely changed my perspective. As a nice bonus, they even gave me a handful of stickers for my gun room wall, which was a thoughtful touch. Been out of the hobby for decades. Kinda wanted a good quality weapon in case zombies. Read good things about NorCal Gun Vault's customer service. Walked in with minimal knowledge of current day regulations and requirements to buy a pea shooter. 5 minutes in the door I'm taking the FSC test with no prep. Passed but missed two questions. I was pissed I didn't study first. Good vibes of staff chilled me out. Now I had a decision to make. I had walked in with an idea of what I wanted since I had done my research on how to take down zombies. I was shown many offerings regardless as staff is knowledgeable and takes their time, no pressure (other than shoving me in corner to take FSC because apparently urgent I did so). Lots of paperwork later I have what I need if and when a zombie breaks into my house, just hopefully not for 10 days because waiting period. This was years back and I just happen to see their store in yelp, so I'd like to give tell my experience with this shop. I purchased a brand new gloc 19 and had them install a zev competition trigger and when I got my gun back, the gunsmith said that for some reason he couldn't line up the slide properly and suggested a few things. First of all, you don't accept a service that you can't do properly! My home defense pistol is now unreliable! I was so pissed that I never returned to their shop anymore and had my pistol serviced somewhere else. Don't ever have anything done here. Eddie F. This was a long time ago, you probably don't remember it anymore. Back when the gen3 gloc 19 came out. The gunsmith at your store was showing me my gun with the slide not aligning. Why would you release that back to a customer? That gun is not safe and wouldn't dare shoot with it. You should inspect every single firearm that comes out of your store. Knowing what the gunsmith did, I wouldn't bring it back there. read more

This is a great business for firearm purchases, upgrades or ammunition. The owner is extremely friendly, knowledgeable on firearms, and provides great services for his customers. Please support this business if possible instead of supporting big businesses like Bass Pro Shop. I had a juggernaut kit installed on my AR which later failed after 2-3 trips at the gun range. The owner reached out and was very well understanding. He provided a refund on the juggernaut kit and I was able to use that shop credit for a red dot for my Glock 19. Despite my bad luck with my juggernaut kit, I still plan to support NorCal gun vault whenever possible. The store staff seemed disinterested & not particularly knowledgeable about weapons... I thought perhaps they specialize in classic weapons because they have several old pieces in dire need of repair... I was looking for a modern style pistol... the sales person took 30 minutes to eventually tell me they don't sell any new firearms... i heard a lot of 'I think' & 'this is probably...' the salesperson seemed to know the difference between a pistol & a rifle... imho a firearms store is one where knowledge will save lives... It's a nice store... It looks safe... I'm just not sure of the mission of the store... staff treated me politely but they were mean to another customer... idk why but I don't like the idea of the store yelling in my face or gossip after i leave... I have done two PPTs last week with Eddie and Garrett. I love that i can make an appointment online and that when I came in on Friday and they were packed that Eddie made sure I was seen immediately. They re thorough, fast, and the store has lots of space to provide for social distancing. Eddie staffs the store with alot of knowledgeable people and when i was there were at least 6 people on staff, including Eddie the owner who was out there welcoming clients (even though he hadnt had lunch by 4pm) and moving things along. Everyone knows this is a great friendly place for the hole family and they are right, with cumfy coaches, Pixar movies, Keurig coffee, video games but my review is on a less known service. It's been really hard to get a wide range of ammunition in California but not any longer we can buy it online again anNorcal gun vault is more than happy to let you use their FFL(I think they have to). It was a new process for the both of us because the new laws started in July and Eddie made it smoother than I could imagine. They live up to the hype if you could call it that? Happy to support genuine good people running a genuine good business, great store even better people, we need more people like this in America. With the holidays, the string of break-ins in our developing community (perps don't realize people have moved in), and porch pirates I finally caved and decided to purchase a hand gun. I was hesitant and I am a firm believer in responsible gun laws, but I'll be damned if someone tries to come into my home while I'm in there. I have an alarm system, but people nowadays are just plain BOLD! I did a little research before coming in, but the staff was very friendly and informed me about each gun. I knew which one I wanted and made a purchase. Purchasing a gun is like purchasing a vehicle but you don't go home in a new car (aka get the gun) that same day. The paperwork, finger printing, waiting for 10 days and then having to come back, proof of residency all took time - which is completely fine! I loved knowing our strict gun laws in CA were working. I needed this for home protection not something right away. It gave me time to prepare the necessary safety precautions I wanted to install in my home. I'm thankful for the Gun Vault for being so professional, clean, and informative! They have a wide selection of hand guns, shot guns, and even bows and arrows!! YAY review number 100!!!! And who better then to review then this awesome business.. I've been here several times in the last few months.. As soon as you walk into this store you're immediately greeted by the workers there.. They were very courteous and very helpful towards all their customers, young or old alike, even to a armature like me who didn't know anything about guns.. There's always at least 7-10 people working there, on the floor showroom and behind the counter.. Hubs has gotten his ak-47, Bersa Thunder (James bond gun), sig 1911 tech-ops (no longer available), 2 x c2 tasers (worth getting) and they helped me picked out my gun which I ended up with the sig-238.. They're always busy no matter what time you walk into this store on any given day.. But no matter how busy someone is always willing to help you and answer any questions you may have with anything and no question is a dumb question to them.. They're also family own and the owner and his kids work their on weekends to give their other employees the day to spend with their family which I think is really AWESOME.. They have a really good selection on guns for semi auto, revolvers, rifles and shotguns too.. They do have a used guns section and even Free Deer Hunter arcade for the kids! They carry ammo, accessories, gun case, cleaners and other things.. They ensure that all rules and regulations where followed and completed when buying new, used or even private party transaction.. And when you do come pick up your gun they do a full go over on safety of the gun, how to take apart and clean it as well.. I love the fact when I was buying my gun (I have small hands) they asked what I was looking for, feel and ammo type.. They showed me things I liked and things I won't think of ever trying simply because I won't know about them.. They didn't rush me and ensured what I was getting is what I wanted.. I highly recommend this place to anyone who's looking for anything gun related, you won't be disappointed with this place.. They also have complimentary water, sodas and coffee near they deer hunting game.. And they also have a awesome super sized teddy bear on their couch for the kiddes to wait at.. I just purchased a handgun and some other supplies from Nor Cal Gun Vault. The staff was incredibly knowledgeable, helpful, friendly and kind, making for a smooth transaction and a great overall experience. I appreciate how they are also super law enforcement-friendly. The only thing that sucks is that they don't have very much ammo in stock, but that has nothing to do with the shop - almost no firearm shops anywhere in California have ammo right now. I made a special trip out here from the Bay Area (San Francisco) to get the gun I wanted and it was absolutely worth it. This shop was recommended to me by a colleague/friend and - based upon my own experience today - I would absolutely recommend it to anyone else I know who is in the market for a firearm and/or firearm-related product(s). Going into gun stores can often be a little intimidating. Like going into a record store in the 70's you are often met at the counter by someone that is extremely opinionated, and who believes they know better than you what you should know. Well, this store is not about ego, these people are extremely friendly, and they understand that especially now, not everyone walking through their door is well versed in information about guns. What makes their job even tougher now is that they have an extremely low inventory if they have an inventory at all. The three times that I have been to this store they have always been very attentive, and even when they are very busy with customers, I have not felt ignored or neglected in any way. If you are a first time gun buyer, or perhaps you own several guns, you owe it to yourself to go in there and meet these people. One of their employees named Mark was incredibly friendly and was explaining to me why inventory was so low. The next time I went in I met the owner Eddie, and he treated me like I had been a customer for years. This is a cool store. read more
