This is my favorite frame shop in the city. I've been to over ten shops trying to get the perfect framing job done, but each place always has an issue, whether it's overcutting a mat, leaving dust or hair particles inside the glass, scratching a frame, cutting the mat too large, or something else. With other frame shops, there's always an attention to detail problem, but here this guy nails it! I can always walk in and know I'll have something back within a week or two max, whereas other frame shops have made me wait 8-12 weeks. Not only is the quality better, but the timeframe is shorter and the prices are more reasonable. If you need a framer with attention to detail and someone who can make judgment calls for you where you're not sure what to do, this is your guy. Very disappointed due to the poor handling of the picture framed. We had a one-of-a-kind picture that had my son's newborn footprints, as well as the signature of the doctor who delivered him. This was in pristine condition for years until after the framing, I saw after picking up that the footprint was faded out, with heavy smudging on the signature. Needless to say, I was devastated by the result. When I first brought this up, the person I spoke to (seemed like the manager, who also framed it) denied fault until they brought up how they generally treat pictures. Apparently they use a brush first to dust it off prior to overlaying the glass, and this process may have likely caused the streaking of the signature as well as the fading of the footprint. The framer himself eventually admits that this was likely the cause. Supposedly they even have a process to treat other types of pictures delicately, like charcoal art, but their attitude didn't decide to treat ours with equal care or respect. After hearing this, and how it was possible to have avoided this entire mess for a picture that I consider priceless, I personally feel like I have no choice but to let others know of the work quality they place into their framing process. Right now, I have to find a way to fix these mistakes, likely costing much more than the price to frame it. read more

I had two pieces of artwork to frame. They did a superb job. I wasńt sure what I wanted for the frames. The owner was so accommodating giving me suggestions and showing me frames I would not have thought on my own. The workmanship is excellent and pricing is more than fair. An above-par framing experience. The salesperson (framer?) was knowledgeable and helped me select appropriate colors and materials for my frames. They offer UV protective glass and TONS of matting and framing options. Like any framing store though, it's not cheap. I had two certificates and one poster framed, had a 26% off coupon and the total was still over $300. I always have trouble swallowing the $100+ frame for the $20 poster, but it makes the poster a real piece of art... so I deal with it. My pieces were framed within a week and they called me when I could pick up. He unwrapped and showed me everything before I took it home. Did an excellent job framing three pieces of art for us: two very large photographs and a painting. He helped us pick out a great frame from their many selections, consulted the framing guidance from the photographer, and ensured everything came out perfect. When consulting on frame options, he was very careful with the art to ensure it stayed in perfect condition. When we went to pick it up, he helped us load the large frames in an SUV UberXL so it would be safe for the few blocks home. It took just over a week from when we placed the order. Excellent neighborhood frameshop. We've had fine art, editioned prints, posters and photographs framed here and Mahbub is very easy to work with and extremely patient while we make decisions. The turnaround time is surprisingly fast. The shop has a variety of styles and we often go for fun colors/ crazy contemporary arrangements with our eclectic collection and Mahbub handles all of this with ease. Dropped off 8 pictures to be framed - paid in full before I left. Went to pick them up - I handed the salesman my receipt. He brought out 2 very heavy packages (4 frames per package) - wrapped in brown paper and placed them on the floor. I asked if I could see the completed work - he said very rudely "you want to see them also?" I asked him what he meant by "also". He said "the salesman you worked with mis-priced this job". I asked him if he was angry at me / if I was to blame for this (I actually thought it was over priced)? - he did not respond. He unwrapped one package and showed me the frames - I thanked him and asked if he had a bag I could put the packages in - he of course said no. Lesson learned - find another framing store who appreciates your business. read more

AMAZING. I recently went in to frame a portion of a hiking map. The owner spent time helping me decide what portion of the map to frame (which he cut for me!), what size matte to border it with, and which frame and glass would suit it best. He then completed the job two days early! Before I took the framed map home, we reviewed it together and he made thoughtful comments about how nicely the decisions turned out. He went above and beyond on 2 very large pieces of mine that had glue all over the back from a previous hanging method. They clearly care about art and their customers.
