When I first went to Noushi, I thought I was going to be getting excellent treatments from her from the raving reviews. But after my first session I am very disappointed. These are the reasons: I went to get 5 areas treated with LHR. 4/5 were ok. However, I noticed in 1 of the areas, which is rather large, at least 50% of the hair was missed. It continued to grow from the very day after the treatment. I went in for not 1, but 2 touch-ups. Each time, she neither let me shave before coming in nor did she shave the areas she missed before she treated them. She used a sweeping motion, with the laser missing several areas, not allowing the laser to hit everything. During all 3 sessions, she constantly (6-10 times per session at least) would interrupt the session to see who was calling, answer a phone call, or listen to a voicemail, 1 of them being a personal phone call lasting around 5-10min. She would come back unsure of where she left off, causing to again miss areas. Her lack of attention was evident, especially when she would come back from phone calls 3 times to ask me, each time, about the movie I saw last weekend, as if it was the first time she asked. She would also leave the session to go talk to another patient in the waiting room. The first time I went, we were about to get started when another customer came in that wanted just a small area done. She asked if it was ok that she do him first, and then asked me to go shave everything that I wanted done in the bathroom. These small things, here and there, once in a while, do not bother me. But all of them added up made me realize just how little she focused on customer service. I understand she is a 1-woman show but she needs to show more respect and attention to the customer she is having a current session with. All the while, I could hear her underlying condescending tone towards me as if she was doing ME a favor by using her time to service me, not being there to make sure I am getting 100% complete satisfaction. She would say things like "you're definitely getting your money's worth out of me." Well, no, I was NOT getting my money's worth. I was not asking for extra treatments for free, only asking the ones I paid over $500 for to be done correctly. A couple of times saying some rather rude and inconsiderate things, briefly catching herself after realizing it. These were during the touch-up sessions. I again called after the 2nd touch-up to let her know the area was still being missed and it was from then on she decided it wasn't worth her time to take care of the situation or reply to my voicemails or emails in a timely fashion. She could have avoided all of this by allowing me to shave the entire area before coming for the touch-up and redoing the entire area attentively. It really bugs me when people in the service industry do not admit any type of fault or take a true corrective action to remedy the situation. I was ready to take the full plunge into LHR and to invest thousands of $ into the treatments. Maybe some people have had success with her, maybe it's her "charm" that keeps people from posting anything negative, I don't know. I felt as if she was selling her personality through passive aggressiveness rather than her service itself. I'm guessing her main demographic is young, impressionable people not thoroughly educated on how a proper business should be run. She lacks professionalism and attention to detail, from my experience with her. Perhaps if she got an assistant to manage her calls/etc, she would have more focus on the customers. Until then, I won't be a returning customer. read more

I'd been interested in laser hair removal for years. I was afraid that it might hurt more than waxing, but it really isn't painful. I find that getting my teeth cleaned is actually more nerve wracking than laser hair removal. So, I got started as Excellase. Noushi takes a lot of pride in her work. She isn't just a technician who is getting paid regardless of how good of a job she does. She truly understands why the technology works and how to use it. Noushi has also invested in one of the most versatile and effective machines, the apogee elite. Also, I got my treatment package through groupon at a very discounted rate. Although she is losing money on the deal Noushi has never treated me differently because of it. I have been completely at ease since my first visit. Noushi makes you comfortable immediately. She's a great conversationalist and she even provides a teddy bear for you to hold if you're nervous. I was so comfortable after my first session that I invested in the Brazilian package. For those of you who aren't familiar what this entails it goes beyond the bikini line in the front and the back. For me it is hard enough to go in for my yearly exam, so it is truly saying a lot about her that I'm so comfortable that I'm having this done. Now for the best part. I've had incredible results. I'm a little more than halfway through and I constantly hear how smooth my legs are. I rarely shave and the hair does grow is in much softer. Also, I struggled with ingrown hairs and scarring from them while shaving frequently. Laser hair removal has really helped with this. Laser hair removal doesn't guarantee to stop all hair growth completely, but it really does the 80% or more promised by the FDA. I haven't even completed all my treatment sessions yet, but I already have the freedom to wear whatever I want on a whim, because not having time to shave is no longer a concern. I'd highly recommend Excellase to everyone. read more

I first found Noushi because a friend of mine went to her for laser hair removal and was very happy with the results she got after just a few treatments. I have always wanted to try laser hair removal but was very skeptical that it would actually work. When I called Noushi she asked me to come in for a free consultation so I decided to go in just to see what she had to say. Noushi was very honest with me- she told me not to expect the results as quickly and as dramatically as my friend had had (my friend had very dark body hair and mine is mostly light) but that I would definitely see a reduction, just maybe not complete removal. Because the package prices that she offered seemed reasonable I decided to go ahead with a few areas to see how it went. I am very satisfied with the results! I do still have a little bit of hair in the areas that have been treated but it is so soft and fine that I barely notice it. I still go in for "touch ups" every now and then but they are several months apart. Because my hair is so light Noushi does use a higher setting with me, so not "painful" but more uncomfortable that I thought it would be. She does always ask how I'm doing throughout the treatment and will take a break if I need to, but you do get a little used to it after you know what to expect. Noushi is so professional and knowledgeable and such a delight that she makes you feel comfortable instantly. You can tell she really does care about the client and goes above and beyond to make sure they have a good experience and will continue to come back. If you suck, everyone will know about it, without sugar coating BUT if you're great I will shout it from the rooftops. So here is my review of ExcelLase. I came to ExcelLase a few years ago for Laser hair removal in my bikini area (actually, most of it) because, let's face it, no one wants to be Sascrotch! Noushi explained the procedure and was extremely professional. She is down to earth and actually quite funny. I have olive skin so the ingrown hairs all scarred from shaving so I looked like I had polka dots down below. It was a plus that the laser actually removed the scars, too! Years later, I have a few scant hairs but I'd say I'm 95% hair free. I remembered Noushi's expertise and bedside manner fondly so it was only appropriate to return to her when it was time to bring some youth back to my 51 year old (o.k., 52 in 9 days) time worn face. Sure enough, she did not disappoint! I had Fraxel laser resurfacing on my entire face and neck. Noushi told me what to expect with each and every day after treatment. She was spot on. I wasn't worried for a second. My face looks many years younger, smoother, brighter. Age spots, sun spots be damned! Noushi can take care of them!! I am so thrilled that I will be coming back for the simple upkeep, if necessary. I cannot recommend this woman enough. I'm one of those Yelpers that are really only moved to write an actual review when I am extremely displeased with the service I've received - this is not the case with this review. Nourshi is AMAZING! after doing a lot of research online, I was looking for a laser hair removal practitioner that had the ability and equipment to treat darker skin. After digging through the reviews (many are not actually posted on Yelp - I came across another African American woman that shared her experience w/ Excel Lase (ok, super encouraging-- someone like me, going through the same exact problem!!) NO Woman likes facial hair.... but we all understand....its one of those things that just happen! After I switched birth control - a MAJOR MAJOR side affect was facial hair growth! I literally had to shave EVERY MORNING! God forbid I was in a rush and forgot -- my day was RUINED. After a couple of sessions, my facial hair was almost non factor! This is ABSOLUTELY worth every penny you will spend on it! Modern science is amazing - something that we, as women, would have to live with and suffer through can be taken care of at minimal cost and only slight discomfort (if life were that easy) ;) ) If you're suffering embarrassing facial hair or just plain sick of shaving - this is definitely an investment you should consider making -- it really change your life (side bar - I had no scarring and again, I never looked forwarded to getting the treatments, but was always glad that I did. Noushi is fabulous and I highly recommend her. I am a female who has been cursed with unwanted hair for many years. Having moved a few times, I have tried many different laser treatment centers over the years in different cities and states, including Raleigh, NC. Noushi is by far the best technician I have seen for hair removal and I love the laser she uses. I was fortunate enough to find her a few years ago after not having good results at other treatment centers in town. A few sessions with Noushi and my stubborn, unwanted hair was gone for a period of about 3 years. With recent hormone changes, my unwanted hair growth started again and I am back with Noushi at Excellase. My results with her are again, fantastic. Most of my unwanted hair will purge on the spot during treatment. Ok. Let's get personal. I want to start by saying that Excellase has completely changed my life! I'm a trans woman of color and that comes with a lot when you have to deal with your external appearance negatively effecting your self esteem and confidence. I met Noushi with a full beard--yes a full ear-to-ear beard that I shaved twice a day. And to add insult to injury, I also suffered from folliculitis. Understand that this was more than my self esteem in danger--it was my life!! With a beard I couldn't pass as female and that meant I was subject to embarrassment and harm by cis-folks who couldn't quite understand my transition. Noushi didn't judge me, as matter of fact, she did quite the opposite, she accepted me not only as her patient, but her family. I am writing this to hopefully help other people like me who have been searching for an answer that will truly remove their tattoo. I started with a dark, shaded tattoo on my wrist, an area hard to remove tattoos from as it is on the lower extremity. I had my first tattoo removal session back in California with a different laser, and waited half a year after my move before seeing Noushi. I had decent fading on it which I forgot to take a picture of, because when I saw her I was so excited and immediately had my wrist lasered. I just had my third session with Dr. Noushi today, and I am so impressed! my wrist has gone from a dark brown to a very faded tattoo that I can cover with makeup. My latest picture in here is after only 3 laser removal sessions total, and just two with Excellase. Noushi has been extremely accommodating! She has let me keep my groupon rate for every session, and even when I couldn't afford to use the describe patch this time(which I highly recommend) she still used it on 1/2 of my tattoo just to experiment-free of charge. If any of you have researched tattoo removal, you will see it can take an upwards of 20 sessions for complete removal. Very accommodating and attentive to my situation with wanting to join the military and getting rid of my tattoo. The photo of my tattoo being the darkest was how my hand looked before any treatments. The one after that is how my tattoo looked after 2 treatments of TATTOO VANISH (would not recommend at all) the process was extremely painful and time consuming with little results but sadly with plenty of scaring. The final photo (excuse my tired face) is after LITERALLY ONE session with ExelLase although we did a once over just for good measure. The second session we did another once over and a bit more ink came out but not that much in the areas my tattoo artist went a little heavy handed (couldn't find the photo). The photo of all 3 of us was my last session (hopefully) where we did a TWICE over with my 3rd time being under the laser that day being completely free of charge as a going away present, hopefully into the military at last! I would recommend this to anyone and everyone with a tattoo they're trying to get rid of. Noushi treated me and my fiancé like family that she was always happy to see come by. She is the most friendliest and kind hearted person I've ever paid to shoot me with a laser i would always be done with my sessions after 1 hour MAX. I love Excellase! I first started going in January and had no prior laser experience. Before beginning, Noushi took nearly 30 minutes explaining every aspect of what she was going to do, the life cycle of hair growth, and how I should care for my skin afterwards. I really appreciated how reassuring she was. I did not feel rushed even though she had other clients waiting. Once we got started, she checked frequently to ensure my comfort. Although the laser stung a bit, I was never in any pain. (It's kind of like waxing.) After my first treatment, I was red for an hour, but it quickly subsided. I noticed less facial hair within a few weeks. It was finer. I have been back to Noushi every six weeks since. Each time, she warmly greets me with her big smile and checks on her previous work. Then,she gets to work. It's amazing how I barely have facial hair in this area anymore. Also, my skin actually looks better after treatment. It looks smoother and the pores look less small. (Well, after about a day.) I honestly cannot say enough positive things about my experience. I LOVE this place and I love Noushi even more. I started my love affair with Noushi two years ago.. started with laser hair removal, which is pretty much gone, then i had a laser facial which removed three brown spots(no downtime), and then i started my journey with Fraxel..it changed my life.. my skin looks like porcelain.. i get compliments all the time about my skin and its taken about 10 years off of my age. Love her!!! Before getting laser hair removal I would get horrible ingrown hairs that woud turn into very painful boils on my bikini area. Know matter what I did I always got them making me very self consious. I never went to the pool in anything revealing because of the horrible scars, bumps, darkened skin, and red/inflamed skin. No matter what I did : shaving with the grain, using sensitive skin products, exfoliating, waxing,nair, bump away, bikini zone, ect. Nothing worked unti now, since the first session I haven't had a boil like ingrown hairs only a few very small red bumps that cleared up within days. I've only had three session so far and am very happy with the results. Now all I have to worry about is the scars and hyperpigmentation which are clearing up fast now that hair is no longer growing. After the second session I decided to do my underarms too and am happy with those results as well. Worth every penny. Ps: I am AA with very coarse/curly hair of a carmel complexion. Noushi is fabulous and makes the treatment much more bearable by being so friendly and welcoming! The facility is very nice and I have never had to wait - she is always right on time. She works around my schedule for my treatments which I greatly appreciate because I come from about an hour away to have treatments. She reviews aftercare thoroughly and truly wants your treatment to be successful and safe. Before seeing Noushi, I originally had scheduled with a dermatology office, but about an hour before they called to cancel my appointment (I was already en route too). I pulled over and did a quick search to find another place that could fit me in same day for the treatment I wanted. Noushi took the time out to have a relatively lengthy conversation with me over the phone, explaining her process, and even fit me in the same morning - and for a much more reasonable price than I would have paid somewhere else. I got a tattoo with a meaning that was important to me, but didn't do my research on the artist and it came out very sloppy looking to the point that it is distressing for me. I called Noushi after doing research on who I wanted to go to for help. I happened to call on her off day, but without even asking she made time for me same day to come in for a consult and my first treatment. She was very honest with me and managed my expectations about how long it will take to get it removed, particularly because it is on my hand which takes longer than if it was closer to the heart. She really settled my nerves and even though she explained that I'll have to be patient because it will likely take over a year, maybe two, I got my first treatment same day and it already looks lighter. I am still self-conscious about how it looks but am so relieved in her confidence that I will be able to get it completely gone in time. After treatments I just don't think about it anymore. The results were great and I've began treatment of additional areas. Noushi is great at what she does and is such a kind person. When I first went there I had a lot of questions, because of bad experience at another place, and she was able to answer all of my questions. I looked forward to the treatments.
