Turned out to be a tripped breaker that wasn't obvious because of the safety bracket on the breaker. Wanted to convert an outdoor CFL fixture to LED. Instead of selling me a much bigger job, they explained I could simply use LED bulbs that plug into the existing CFL sockets. What could've easily turned into a several hundred dollar bill ended up being around $100. Before starting the work, Eric also took great care to protect our home from dust. He covered the floors and other areas that could easily get dusty with protective plastic sheeting. I needed a kitchen light switch fixed and contacted Eric based on previous YELP reviews. When I…read morecalled mid day he informed me that he only did the automobile plugin stuff but asked where I lived and if the light switch was the only thing I needed fixed. When I said Lake Forest and yes to the only thing needing a fix, he said he would come by in about an hour. When he came he immediately went to work on the switch and in less than a minute the lights were back on, but the lights were flashing on and off. This was a problem before the lights stopped coming on altogether. He switched some of the light bulbs with other working lights in the hallway and they worked in the kitchen and began flashing in the hallway. To that, Eric determined that the flashing lightbulbs were "crap", recommended getting some new light bulbs to replace those that flashed. It wasn't the switch that was faulty but the lights themselves. Eric said that he would not charge me anything for his work that day which was so generous and appreciated by me. You don't find people like that anymore. As it turns out he has family living in my neighborhood. He also gave me some advice on another outdoor light that we are repairing. Can't say enough good things about Eric.

After interviewing several "pushy/fast-talking salesmen" I was fortunate enough to find Excellence Electric. Raymond came out & gave me an estimate. He was totally professional, very informative & extremely patient answering all my questions. He came across as an honorable gentleman & not a shyster trying to sell me everything under the sun! I hired Raymond & am so glad I did. His son, Ray Jr. & his brother, Manuel, were professional, friendly, polite, explained everything they were doing & like Raymond, were extremely patient answering my questions. They were knowledgeable, affordable & did great work. We had ceiling fans installed throughout & LED lights installed in the garage. We were so impressed with the amazing lighting in the garage that we had them install an LED light in the kitchen. When checking several faulty outlets & switches they found that the condo had not been grounded correctly when it was built. They properly grounded everything, replaced all the switches & outlets & brought everything up to code. Now we feel safe & secure thanks to Raymond, Ray Jr. & Manuel! I cannot recommend Excellence Electric highly enough! We needed a major electrical upgrade for our early 1970s home, which involved removing outdated Zinsco 100-amp breakers, upgrading the exterior panel to 200-amp, and relocating our interior subpanel to bring our entire place up to code. From start to finish, the experience was absolutely seamless. The owner, Raymond, was a fantastic communicator throughout the entire project and kept us informed every step of the way. He took all the hassle off our hands by pulling the required permits with the City of Fountain Valley and coordinating directly with SCE on our behalf. When it came to the actual installation, Raymond's son, Ray, handled the work and was incredibly professional. His craftsmanship was top-tier, and he was efficient and respectful of our home. They upgraded my old electrical panel and installed a Tesla Level 2 charger. Raymond was knowledgeable, straightforward, and honest -- not like some other contractors I've dealt with in the past. He was very responsive and always took the time to answer my questions. The overall cost was very reasonable as well. My only small complaint is that there was a surprise $200 charge at the end for the Tesla charger installation permit. I wish that had been communicated upfront.
