Growing up in Germany, my mom would clean all the windows in hour house every four weeks. And that's not an anomaly: the traditional "German housewife" is very particular about her windows and it's seen as good etiquette to have your windows presentable as visitors might judge you for it otherwise. Fast forward to me living in the woods in Mill Valley 20+ years later: We moved into our home back in 2014 and most of the windows in our house haven't been cleaned since. Gasp! The reason for that is that we have skylights that are very hard to clean and other windows that are just too hard to reach for us. (High-ceiling houses are great but do come with challenges.) They are no longer Excellent! A few weeks ago they washed the windows in my 1 BR apartment and left a spot (from dirty water I assume ) on my expensive spotless couch. Initially they said the window washer was not near the couch. I sent them a picture of the couch which is right next to the window. Again they denied it and said I waited too long. They performed the service on May 31 after which I was out of town. I told them that I had been trying to get the spot out myself. Last year the company started using ground wand brush cleaning. Using excessive water and leaving water spots. In the past , the company used ladders and hand cleaning with high quality results. The cleaning had fair and transparent pricing when scheduling since I was a previous customer and they knew my home. Today I called to request the ground wand brush cleaning not be used and was told No by Tony. I let him know hand cleaning had been used for almost a decade on my home and he interrupted and stated the primary estimator would need to review that request in person. I disconnected the call after Tony's refusal to listen to my concerns. Unfortunately, this vendor was consistently 5 stars. Photos are from last year. Update, May 2022. We hired them to the outside, inside and the screens and tracks. After they finally showed up they broke our screens and did an absolutely abysmal job with the cleaning. Literally every part is worse off than before they got here. We were given $50 off our total charge which I guess will cover a screen patching kit. Fantastic job on a 2 unit Victorian. They were able to give me a quote (which held true) over the phone using google street view. The morning of the appointment, Sergio was right on time and he and his workers did a beautiful job. Both units of this building are tenant occupied, so I met them on site, unlocked all access doors, but turned the job over to them with the request that they lock up when they were through. Our tenants were home and commented on how polite and efficient the workers all were. They did a fantastic job and responsibly locked up behind themselves when they were through. Our previous window cleaner had moved so this was the first time we contracted with Excellent. I called to get a quote for more frequent cleanings at my home. 1st call, a young man who couldn't hear me, "click", hung up. 2nd call, he insisted on getting my address but in the middle of trying to explain that they work for the HOA not me directly, he lost patience and hung up on me. 3rd call, I was told I was aggressive by a lady who was yelling at me. 4th call, I figured I'd just ask for a supervisor, at which time there was no supervisor there (probably part of the problem) but they would call me. I asked "may I have the name of the supervisor calling me?" He said he didn't know. The window cleaning may very well be high quality, but I never even got to that point, in fact, I never was even able to get an estimate. Call someone else, these guys are apparently too busy to listen to a customer's request. read more

Not sure what happened, but service this year was not as expected. Crew arrived late and moved very slowly. Broke for hour lunch break at 12 noon. The crew leader told me he wouldn't be back and that the remaining three workers would finish the job, They'd only cleaned 30% of the windows by that time. My west facing windows get really hot after 2 pm and it's not possible to clean without streaks. They also used a weird method - suspended from my roof with ropes. I like the ropes for safety, but instead of moving the ropes as needed, they were swinging back and forth, trying to squeegee. Method was not working, leaving lots of streaks and marks. When I called the office to ask if they could use ladders in addition to the ropes for safety and to improve the work, the receptionist was very rude, saying "they're professionals, they know where they're doing". Apparently they don't, if they can't finish my windows in one day and also are doing a bad job on the windows they do reach. Office worker told me once they finished, I can just point out each spot. Really? Every single window they'd done had spots. And trying to fix the spots at 5-6 pm when the windows are super hot would be impossible, Really disappointing quality and service. read more
