Not sure what happened, but service this year was not as expected. Crew arrived late and moved very slowly. Broke for hour lunch break at 12 noon. The crew leader told me he wouldn't be back and that the remaining three workers would finish the job, They'd only cleaned 30% of the windows by that time. My west facing windows get really hot after 2 pm and it's not possible to clean without streaks. They also used a weird method - suspended from my roof with ropes. I like the ropes for safety, but instead of moving the ropes as needed, they were swinging back and forth, trying to squeegee. Method was not working, leaving lots of streaks and marks. When I called the office to ask if they could use ladders in addition to the ropes for safety and to improve the work, the receptionist was very rude, saying "they're professionals, they know where they're doing". Apparently they don't, if they can't finish my windows in one day and also are doing a bad job on the windows they do reach. Office worker told me once they finished, I can just point out each spot. Really? Every single window they'd done had spots. And trying to fix the spots at 5-6 pm when the windows are super hot would be impossible, Really disappointing quality and service. read more

We hired Excellent Window Cleaning to power wash our house and clean the windows and screens in mid-October. We paid them $1,300. We have in fact hired the same work team supervisor for the past 5 years; however, this time they did a really lousy job. The crew supervisor dropped his workers off and didn't return until they were almost finished. Our windows and screens were left REALLY dirty. The supervisor came back out and "touched up" a few of the windows. I called and spoke to the manager "Jonathan" and then spoke to the owner. Both of them lied, telling me that I had complained numerous times in the past, which is not true. I have NEVER made a single complaint about this team or the company in the past. Why would I hire the same work team for 5 years in a row if we had past complaints? Neither of them could give me a single example of me making a prior complaint. I asked the owner to refund some or all of our money so we could hire someone else to do the job. He refused. I also told him that I would be leaving a negative review on Yelp. He then accused me of "bribing" him and of being "mentally unstable," and said that "Yelp knows how to deal with people like you". Their strategy for dealing with customers who complain is to try and turn the tables and make the customer "the problem." They were brutal in the way they spoke to me. If you hire them you will have no recourse if they do a poor job. read more

We used Excellent Window Cleaning for the inside and outside of the windows in our very tall Victorian house. They looked fantastic afterwards. They also cleaned an upholstered kitchen chair which sits by the stove in the kitchen and consequently acquires a film of grease. when the chair dried, it was streaked, so we called them back. It is 2:25 as I am writing this review. The window cleaner was supposed to come at 1:00. At 1:30, he calls and says it is "too windy" and therefore dangerous to use his ladders. I told him that the last time he came, he didn't use ladders - everything was done from the inside. So he said he would come right away, and be here by 2:00. At 2:10 a manager, Adam, phones to say that he had just heard that his man couldn't come because it was "too windy". I said I had already spoken with his cleaner, and he was in fact on his way. I also said, by way of a comment on their service, that if it was too windy at 1:30, it was also too windy at 12:30, and he should have called BEFORE his appointment, and not AFTER. Adam then retorted, without any note of contrition, "This is not a perfect world". At 2:15 Adam phones back to say that his cleaner "wasn't feeling well." My reply was that he was feeling well enough when I spoke with him at 1:30, and it was obvious this was just another excuse. Instead of expressing any acknowledgement or apology, Adam begins to give me a speil about how managing people is an "art and not a science." Excellent Window Cleaning has a 24-hour cancellation policy. I wish they would respect their customers the same way they expect their customers to respect them. If they had called even at 12:30 before their 1:00 appointment, we would not have rushed back from lunch to be waiting for them. But with a manager like their Adam, who seems inclined to New Age life philosophy, rather than a simple "Please accept our sincere apologies", it is no wonder they act as they do. The job was not the easiest in the world as our house is three stories high. Second time we've used Excellent for a medium sized condo building but will be the last. Prompt and friendly but mediocre job. They came and looked over the building and knew that they would have to repel from the roof in order to get one side of the building. They should have known exactly what access was needed to neighboring properties and let us know ahead of time. Both times, it was all a big surprise upon arrival at the building. I didn't schedule this most recent time, so I was not able to ask questions beforehand. Building has been recently painted so there were some paint flecks on windows. Window washer would not take care of that as contract did not call for scraping. Again, one would think this would have been mentioned with the estimate. The second day included some individual units desiring interior window cleaning. The actual price was TWICE the estimate. Response from window washer: "the estimator just looks up at the building and guesses a price". Window washer unlocked and/or taped all doors of building open for easier access during the day, which is fine, but then left them all open/unlocked when he left, nor did he let anyone know that he was finished. If you need your window panes cleaned and are too lazy to do it yourself, then Excellent Window Cleaning is for you. If you need more, like having your window sills clean and all the nooks and crannies, then find someone else. When the guy arrived I showed him the sills and how I wanted all the grime gone, and asked if he could do it. He said yes. But I was skeptical because all he arrived with was a bucket and a couple dishrags - no crevice tools or even a pipe cleaner to get to the parts that you'd call a professional window washer to attend to. When he announced that he was finished, I checked the windows and pointed out that the sills were still filthy. His response? "My fingers are too fat to clean them." Excuse me? You are a professional window washer!!! Your job is to, as your company name suggests, do excellent window cleaning. Get some better tools! I ended up giving him - get this - a screwdriver so he can wrap his dishrag around it and clean out some of the crevices. Needless to say, very disappointed and will not use them again. read more

Prompt and courteous but totally unacceptable with respect to actually cleaning windows. A couple of guys ran a squeegee over our windows. We had to ask them to redo it several times, and even then the results were worse than what we can do ourselves witth a rag and some Sprayway. We've now already spent enough time on this that it's arguably more trouble than it's worth. I never had a professional window cleaning before. UNBELIEVABLE!. After the cleaners left, I walked through my house looking at everything in a completely different way. The room seemed lighter....LITERALLY! THe other amazing thing about the cleaning is they did the sills as well. The little cracks and grooves were clean. I was blown a way. Far from Excellent. Man I wish there would have been a Yelp review on this company when scheduled this service. Needless to say I had them come by to clean out my gutters and downspouts. Their service consisted of 1 guy and a ladder with a bucket and a small brush, no hose, no pressure washer, nada. One hour later he comes to the door for payment. Granted my house is not enormous, but it is beyond me how someone can complete this job never really getting on the roof and using a ladder only and expect that the job would be done correctly. Explain to me how someone can clean a downspout or a gutter without even running water through it to see if it is clear? Perhaps their window cleaning services are better but I would say for certain wouldn't use them again for gutter service. read more
