This is entirely late in coming. A few years ago, after some tenant changes, I Yelped for a reliable window cleaner for our building that had special requirements for our four-story building. Ryan came out and appraised the situation and explained what he needed to do to clean all of the windows. Guess how? Yes, by rappelling off the roof to the sides of the building. They were thorough and, more importantly, cautious in doing this, both for their own safety and the building. I barely want to look over the edge of the roof, mind you. Wanting to do this again, they unfortunately do not have the staffing to do this right now. Cori put me in contact with someone who is able to help me right now. Five stars in scheduling and coordinating this work. I appreciate Cori who arranged and scheduling this and Ryan and his coworker who did the cleaning. They coordinated another cleaning with a friendly competitor which was good but not as good as when they cleaned our windows. Thanks again and hoping things return to normal for you soon. read more

Ryan and Lyle provided a free estimate for our building that has 6 residential units and 2 commercial spaces. With close to 170 panes of glass and a 4-sided building, it was quite a big job. We have many curved glass windows and small diamond panes that are hard to clean yet alone physically get to, but that didn't stop them. They looked at parts of our buildings as a personal challenge and conquered them all. Our windows are so sparkling that you can walk through them. We plan to have them come back every April. Oh and by the way, they actually showed up on time both days, and finished the project under their estimated time projection. Ryan has been cleaning our windows for the last three years and the service and workmanship have remained top notch. They are busy, and for very good reason, so try and schedule your cleanings in advance as we do. Ryan was great to work with, he was super responsive on email, came by to do an estimate and was great when he came to do the cleaning. He did an amazing job, we actually left our blinds up to enjoy the views. He had all his equipment, didn't make a mess which I hate when someone comes to fix or do something and then you're left cleaning up after. The house was as clean as when he started plus the windows that I almost forgot were there. A neighbor of mine mentioned that someone else in the building had used a great window cleaning company. After looking for a while, I finally found a picture, and sure enough, it was Intelligent Window Cleaning. I called them, spoke with Ana, and she sent Ryan over a couple of days later to give me an estimate. For all three windows (2 in the living room and 1 in the kitchen), inside and out was $64.00! Keep in mind that these windows have never been cleaned since I moved in 10 YEARS AGO!!! I immediately called Ana to book an appointment and the soonest she could give me was two weeks later. These guys are very busy, but very much worth it. I've attached before and after pics to show. I literally cannot stop staring out my windows now. Thanks to both Ryan and Nate for being on time that Saturday morning and surprisingly, they even finished in less than an hour. These guys know what they're doing and I'd highly recommend them to anyone. Today I had Intelligent Window Cleaning come and clean my windows, screens, and tracks. Being I've only lived here 5 months, they needed it desperately. What a difference renting vs owning. You would think the owners would like to keep their property up, but no such luck.. Renter's, if you want it done, YOU pay. I've been using Ryan (the owner) and IWC for nearly 5 years now. I stayed with him from the Bernal Heights home in SF all the way to San Mateo. He is FABULOUS! Not only is he reasonable, but he is a down right NICE GUY. Hugely disappointed. Used this company once, about three years ago, and was very pleased. This time, to say I am unpleased would be a gross understatement. Two weeks ago booked them for a client's home ( new home in Twin Peaks area, 5000+sq feet, walls of windows) in preparation for a big event. Also, emphasized while they were out surveying the project that said client would want to have all the windows cleaned monthly. With an estimate of $1100, that's over $12K a year in business. Well they've lost that business. The company cancelled the appointment less than 48 hours in advance. As a result, I am left scrambling for another company, and additionally will look bad to my client. This was our second time using Intelligent Window Cleaning. We had the front of our Edwardian power washed, and both units had their windows cleaned inside and out Oh, the sparking sunshine! What a difference clean windows make. And the front of our building looks fantastic. Ryan and Nate did an excellent job, and Nate even put my window sheers back up, unasked, which I had taken down to make it easier for him to wash the windows. In the last two weeks, these guys have cleaned the windows on my house and my Acupuncture office. They both look great! There's so much more light coming in now, and I really do see the view and not the windows! The crew was very friendly, and very quiet. I was able to go on about my business while they worked without being interrupted. If you've ever had people working or cleaning in your house while you're home, you'll know that it is very rare to be able to get anythign done. Don't underestimate what clean windows can do to lighten up your space. IWC did mine last week, and the amount of light in my apartment has probably increased 25%. Lyle and Ryan were great. They were prompt, hardworking, and very, very careful and clean. They did my windows inside and out. Don't kid yourself that you are going to do this yourself - oh, if you're like me, you think that you will, and 1 1/2 years goes by and you still haven't done it. My place is pretty small (2 br apt) and it still took the pros 1.5 hours. Just save yourself the hassle, enjoy the sunshine, and give them a call. read more

I agree with all the glowing reviews. I'll provide just a bit more info. One of the guys (for me it was Lyle) will come and give an estimate; said estimate is based on the number of panes, not just windows. We scheduled the guys to come out the following week, and it took three of them less than two hours. They were polite and diligent. The cost is $8 per pane for inside and outside cleaning ($6 if it's just outside). They had a 10% coupon as well, but I just paid them the full amount, considering the difference as their tip. It cost ~$300 to clean all my windows (I have a very large 4-bedroom with lotsa windows). My world is brighter and shinier now. :) Highly recommended. read more

I was in desperate need of someone to wash my windows in my apartment. I'm on the 6th floor and get a lot if wind/rain/dust. The windows had not been washed for 6+ years, so needless to say, they were a mess. Thankfully I found Intelligent Window Cleaning. Their rates are incredible, and having clean windows makes a HUGE difference. On top of doing a stellar job, Ryan and his assistant (sorry - forgot name) were amazing. The business they run is incredibly professional, and all small businesses should look at their professionalism and quality of work and take note. The only down side is that it took them a full month to get the work done after quoting me... I guess that's just a testament to how high of a demand they are in. I have used IWC twice to clean the inside and out of the windows in my flat. Between jobs it was about two years but they provided the same professional and quick service I remembered the first time around. Plus when talking on the phone to Ryan, he remembered my place which, honestly, surprised me since I've only used their services once before. Prices are reasonable and the difference clean windows make is amazing! I especially love that they showed up a few minutes early, happy and ready to work, to my Monday 8am appointment. I work from home and can hardly tell that they're in the apartment---except that our dusty, cloudy windows vanish as the two-man team works its way through every room and, yes, skylights too. I cannot comment on the quality of their work since they never responded to my request for a quote. It is very possible that this company does excellent window washing. Nonetheless, I corresponded with the company several times and was promised a quote for service by the window washer(s), but never got a call back. I'm OK if they are too busy or prefer not to do a job (a 1 year old, 3 story building in the Central Richmond district), but they promised they would call and they didn't. I have no beef with this company since I don't even know them. If it weren't for the glowing reviews, I probably wouldn't post, but I feel that if you have a 5 star rating, you should expect to provide excellent quality and service to maintain the rating. I think they are going to need to handle their communications better if they want to stay in business for the long-term. Maybe that means hiring more staff; I am not sure. I do know my review has nothing to do with the quality of the job. We never got to that. I left an initial voice mail. They responded in a couple of days. They left me a voice mail during the day (while I was at work), and I called them in the evening. I got voice mail again. At that point, I switched to email. In a couple of days, someone wrote back. We arranged a time for someone to come by. Someone did come by, and he looked competent. The price they quote seemed fair (I had one quote come in under and one over; but the one that came in under seemed to be from a guy who did not have a lot of experience). They quoted the price in email a couple of days after the person did the initial inspection. That same day, I approved the price and offered a few day options to get the work done. I waited a five days without hearing back. Then, I sent in another email, trying to get a response. That was seven days ago. Maybe the relatively high Yelp rating has given them more business than they can handle. If so, they should just tell new clients that they are overbooked, and to try again in the fall or something. I can easily forgive/understand that. I just cannot do business with a company that communicates (or fails to communicate well) like this. But . . . if you get them to respond . . . maybe they will do a great job for you. read more

I live in Nopa & our Victorian windows needed some washing. I called for an estimate & I got a quick response saying sure we'll come over for a quote. It was a Sat. morning @ 9. Well 10 rolled around & it was a no show. My husband called & again quick response but when it came to the estimate again no show. Ok you think by now we're so over it but my husband saw them on person on the street & gave them our info & he said he saw them write everything down & guess what? No show again! I had been told that a neighbor's TV had been broken by this firm. I should never have used them, I should have known better. The workmanship has gone downhill recently the workmanship used to be great but not now., They are just not taking the time to train their staff. Last year, the bill was way too high, , but I paid it anyway, and then i checked with other residents in the building and found out that i had been over charged. After a lot of frustration and delay, i did get the extra money back. Last month, i had my windows cleaned and they looked great, The next day, i went out on the terrace and discovered that the dirt from the window had just been transferred down onto the wall that i had just recently had painted. I realized that i had paid to have my terrace made dirtier than when the workman arrived. The workman has not been trained to clean up the mess that he had made. I had to pay an outside workman to clean up the mess that the window cleaner had made. The service had been great, but when it is bad, the staff has been surly and argumentative . They really have been harassing me , by using another individual to pressure me to take down my negative review. The nightmare does not stop. These people do not let up. . From the last that i saw of the workman in my building, the day after the mess was made in my place, i really wondered if this company monitors that their workman do not report to work stoned or with a drug hangover.. I am thoroughly impressed with Intelligent Window Cleaning! The entire process -- from initial contact to getting a quote to scheduling to cleaning -- was professional, friendly and quality and the price was very reasonable as well. Ryan came out right away to give me a quote and provided me a lot of information about their process, the costs, etc. He was a super nice guy. They were able to schedule me for about two weeks out and offered to put me on a waiting list if something came up sooner. Today (4 days ahead of my scheduled time) I received a call from Anna (who is also very friendly and helpful!) who told me the crew could fit me in today if I was available, which I was. I had an amazingly positive experience with Intelligent Window Cleaners. Every step of the way was a good step. First, they came promptly and cleaned the windows beautifully. (The first day they were supposed to come it rained so they easily rescheduled around my hectic schedule since we were putting our home on the market in a few days!). Found out my neighbor was having his done so I decided to "piggyback" on his service, even tho he said it had taken him a month to schedule. Well, they called the next morning, said they could do mine an hour before his (as I'm on the top floor, so trickle down theory!), showed up, quoted a VERY reasonable price and got to work then and there. I am thrilled! Fast, efficient, courteous, professional. (Nate did mine) For the same price as a therapy session I have sparkling new windows that my cheap landlord has neglected for 20+ years. I expected professionalism and clean windows but was astonished by the enthusiasm and extra-mile service. Ryan arrived first and quickly assessed the job, and when Travis and Mark arrived right at the appointed time they not only washed the windows beautifully -- even the 3-story windows are sparkling! -- but also removed cobwebs and dirt and cleaned screens with so much attention to detail they were wiping away hidden smudges (I truly didn't see 'em!) on the way out the door. Unprofessional, argumentative and VERY surly. I almost gave up scheduling with IWC a couple of times before because of her. This time we had a complete break down in communication. She's really awful at her job. You can easily spend 10 min on the phone with her without her scheduling anything and only describing the things she can't do. This time she must've been in a particularly sour mood. We didn't manage to schedule a window cleaning after 8 min on the phone, ending up with her hanging up on me!!! OMG.
