My husband had to physically carry him out of the vehicle. When I contacted the business, I spoke with Maddy at the front desk, who reassured me that my dog had not sustained an injury while in their care. However, I was not present and was never shown any video footage or documentation to support that claim, which left me with serious concerns about what actually happened. Months later, I received a brief email asking me to update my information in their portal. I responded honestly and shared how unsettled I still felt about the previous incident. Shortly after, a staff member called and said they would be happy to schedule grooming appointments for my dogs since they hadn't been in for a while. However, when I arrived to pick them up, I was told that my dogs were not actually scheduled for grooming but that they "accommodated them anyway." I was then informed that Friendly Grove would no longer be grooming dogs at all. The entire interaction felt incredibly confusing and dismissive, and it came across as though they were simply trying to push us out as customers. They offered a $120 credit for that service and essentially told us to find another groomer. My dogs had been going there for years, and $120 doesn't even cover the cost of a single grooming service. After years of loyalty, the lack of transparency, accountability, and communication was extremely disappointing. I expected far better treatment from a place we trusted with our pets for so long.

I have two young Siamese cats that have not had the option to be very social (they are scared of people other than me and my husband). Deanna took the time to come over twice to meet and interact with them before taking care of them while we were gone. These extra visits, at no charge, ensured that she and our boys were comfortable with each other enabling Deanna to care for them while we were gone. She did not want to accept the job without ensuring that our pets would be comfortable, happy and safe! While gone we received daily pictures and updates as to how the boys were doing. This helped us to not miss our "kids" so much. Deanna came daily and checked the house to make sure the boys were not getting into things that they shouldn't and that nothing was wrong in the house. It was a huge relief to have someone taking care of them and keeping an eye on the place. She also took the garbage out on garbage day and vacuumed up the litter around the boys' boxes! Deanna provides such an outstanding service; you can tell that she truly loves pets and her job. The value for having Deanna come to your home to care for your pets in their own environment is invaluable. Her fees are much better than boarding fees in the Oly/Lacey area and as I said your pet gets to stay in its own home! What could be better than that?!?! The only down side is that I think my boys miss her more than they missed me! :-) Honestly, if I could give her more than 5 stars I would.

She did an awesome job caring for them, and when I came home a day earlier than anticipated, their cage and the surrounding area were clean, and they had plenty of hay, pellets, and water even though she had not come by yet that day. Her rates are very reasonable, too! I highly recommend her no matter what kind of pet you need taken care of while you're away from home.

After our local training place closed we were looking for other options and committed to positive reinforcement training. Julia did a 2 week board & train with our dog while we were traveling, mainly focusing on leash skills and practicing calm behavior around exciting things. We noticed an immediate improvement, but have also been continuing to work on the training at home after our follow up. I'm happy to report that we are continuing to see improvement using Julia's methods.

When I came to pick them up she asked me if I wanted her to bring them to the front. I said yes, but to bring them one at a time since my bitch was in heat. Next thing I see is she is coming out with both dogs. I grabbed one of the dogs and said "No. She is in heat." The groomer responded with "I did not know that". It's one thing to make a mistake but another to lie about it. Additionally, I wrote a letter describing this situation to the owner, Vicki. The manager replied with an email. To it she attached video footage of the event. In this email she attempted to explain why the groomer came out with both dogs together. I had several people read this email to see if they could understand the explanation it. They could not. In this email the manager also tried to rephrase the groomer's statement as"'I didn't know you didn't want me to walk them together because we had just talked about that in the grooming office." It's a good thing they had the video footage because it clearly shows the groomer saying "I did not know that" in response to me saying "No. she is in heat" when she brought them out together. Again I had several people read the email. They couldn't understand it either. The email did not contain one word of apology, which would have gone a long way. I just got an email saying that they had cancelled my future boarding appointments...petty.
