Kushan gave me a call with an issue they were having and we worked through it quickly. When I came back on Friday, my car was already done! I had Excelsior Motorsports recently diagnose a few issues related to my 2004 Corvette. The owner Kushan and his team did a great job diagnosing rather than just throwing parts at the problem (which many shops unfortunately do). Additionally, Kushan gave a honest, thorough assessment of their status which I appreciated. And all the work was done for a fair price, unlike other shops. Excelsior Motorsports is the real deal and up until now I had a hard time finding a good, honest Corvette or performance shop (btw, these guys work on most GM vehicles - doesn't have to be a Corvette), but from now on this is the only place I will take my Corvette. This is also the only Corvette (and GM performance) shop I can recommend to others at this time. A warning though: since they are swamped with a lot of customer cars (either for tuning or making track worthy or just repairs and general maintenance) - a good shop is always busy - it could take some time before they will work on your car. So, if you need something done to your vehicle just plan in advance, especially if it's a daily driver. Come to find out Ryne Cunningham had no idea how to tune these direct injection LT1 or LT4 Engines. My car was fouling plugs and misfiring. If you have any sort of LS motor, bring it to him and he will work miracles by getting great power out of it without the need for major surgery. I have a Z06 Corvette which is pretty much stock. Kushan has a number of packages available for the enthusiast, for example Stage 1, Stage 2, Stage 3 etc - so something there no mater what you budget. I went with a Stage 1 upgrade and it has transformed how my car gets power to the wheels - feels like I have a new motor! Best of all, Kushan is very nice to deal with. My C5 Z06 was tuned by another socal tuner slightly north of Kushan's Shop and the car never worked to my satisfaction. I took the Z back to his shop 3 times and I gave up. Kushan was able to do a density dyno and found out there was a problem with my traction control. Once I took the Z out of his shop I felt the improvements immediately. 8 Month Update After 20 track days, my car is running as fast, cool and smoothly as the first day it arrived back to me! It still sounds and performs like a bad ass! Frankly, I am still growing as a driver to reach it's full potential. Kushan's upgrades have allowed me to shave 14 seconds off my previous best lap times. More importantly, it NEVER overheats!!! Excelsior Motorsports, I used this so called shop 5 years ago with minimal success. Kushan tuned my corvette with a supercharger and full bolt ons with pride. The years after we became so called friends. I decided to build a stroker motor through his shop. This was the biggest mistake I've ever made in my history of purchasing mods for my corvette. This was a fully forged motor build to pushing well over 800 rear wheel horse power. Kushan also tuned this setup with no success. This car kept throwing reduce power codes and what not I left the car with for months with him not working on it. He pushes friends to the side so he could bring in more unfinished business in. I even helped him out by turning wrenches for him on the weekends for little or no money, no he never paid me so I just left it alone. Well the motor blew up with less than 3000 miles on it due to lack of knowledge of building high horsepower cars. I believed in this shop I went to court for this owner brought him ALOT of business with nothing in return. The moral of this story is Excelsior can tune and install intake and header on cars which that is more than most shops can do in San Diego and trust me I've used them. Now I wouldn't be surprise if he is out of business somewhere selling cars on a corner lot? read more

I can not begin to tell you what happened but in a niut shell , he charges you top dollar for equipment that he did not put into your car. Yes my car is pushing out way mor HP and yes it performs a lot better but this guy says one thing on his invoice and that piece of equipment is not in the car . I'm embarrassed ! I took my car into another place today and kinda bragged about what was done to the car and about the engine work that had been done .....wow was I wrong . Buyer beware . I called this business for a performance tune on my C6 Corvette. Talked to Kushan, and he was extremely informative (I felt he was mature and have more experiences then the new tuners). So we set up a date and time. When I showed up he went out to greet me. I was impress. We went over on what he would do. He showed me his Dyno and the software, and explained to me in depth it was a Mainline made in Australia, and that this equipment is more precise and correct then the others. Also was recently calibrated (I verified that). On a note, I had a different car, I did a comparison so I use 2 different shop for their Dyno Spec, and one gave out 40 more hp? When the car was on the Dyno he would stop and show me the difference and what he was going to do to make it better. I noticed the large fan would come on automatically at a preset temperature, others would just plug in a fan and let it run continuously. We made many runs and each time he made sure my car engine was not strain by making numerous stops. This I felt he took good care not to overheat the engine. After couple of hours and more, he completed work. Before: 800-3800 rpm too lean, and power curve dropped at 4900 rpm. Now: 500-6100 rpm a straight upward linear line. My impression as I drove my car, first I was able to burn rubbers consistently. Definitely more HP. Should get better gas mileage. Prompt and timely work. About his shop, he has one apprenticeship assistant working for him. He is very meticulous. I observed him wiping the floor. The floor has these rubber checker mats real nice. The shop is very organized. Tools in the tool box. A clean shop. specialize on Corvette and some GM vehicles. Only about 5 cars at a time, suggest he works on cars immediately. Prices for Dyno $450. A word about the other well know Corvette shop north of San Diego are new and young men (worry about their experiences, organization, business sense), garage has full of unfinished cars on the top rack and bottom, tools and parts laying all over the place. Appointment hard to make, no oral communication. emails or vague told by from numerous customers late work, too many cars. Excuses, therefore cheaper $ you get what you pay for. read more
