Man, oh man, are you talking about a good deal or what. Finally found an old school, dude that knew everything about everything. I could tell by the way he walked that he done plenty of mufflers in his life, worked on many cars from the phone call Made, and talk to Corey. I knew the place was the right place. He quoted me about 250 on the phone and ended up to 80 which that's OK. You know Close, but bottom line the most important thing about this business was customer service hands-down times 10 you won't find any Buddy better so I don't even look. Don't waste your time. Always wanted to get some exhaust work done by RPM and today I did. Phoned them a couple days ago for a quote. Took it in today and it didn't go entirely smooth. But I did bring them a slightly used midpipe for my Lexus. I also arrived right at their lunch break for the guys. Everything was smoothed over and got a call back after their lunch break to get an actual quote . It was very close to the original. They did cut my stock midpipe which I asked them not too. Don't think it's a big deal as they welded it right back together in about 15 minutes. So far so great on the newly installed midpipe. No check engine light which is one of my mail goals to a proper install. RPM is a little rough around the collar to deal with so you better not be easily offended. They deal with a lot of off-road vehicles and it's just an exhaust pipe. A cake walk for them. I'll never forget their words. " That's what we do " I'm happy. Thank you RPM. read more

I wanted to have a resonator welded into the exhaust system of my Toyota MR2. Other exhaust specialty shops were reluctant to do the job on my car because of its unusual piping layout, but one of them recommended I give RPM a call. RPM was very friendly on the phone and because of their "first come, first serve" policy I was able to be seen that same morning. After showing them the the car and where I wanted the resonator, they gave an option between MIG or TIG and quoted the prices of each. I picked TIG and they got started right away no questions asked. The job was done about 90 mins later, just enough time to grab breakfast and coffee. Side note: You will likely be greeted by some friendly doggos when you arrive! read more

Understanding that the owner didn't know much about the problem they went ahead and fixed it. Again, not charging for the additional work. RPM replaced my cat after it had been stolen out of my car right in my driveway! Insurance covered the cost and RPM was able to find a suitable replacement after I had the ID sticker replaced from under the hood so we could make sure the part was compatible. Fast forward to a little over a year after that, strange rattling coming from the cat, we bring it in and they confirm it is the converter but cannot determine a diagnosis because there is basically nothing left of the ring. Despite knowing that it will not likely be covered under warranty without an adequate diagnosis, Richard went to bat and even though he could not get in touch with the right person at the distributor right away, replaced the cat minus the rattling parts so it is drivable and will try to get the part replaced under warranty on Monday. We were camping in an Oceanside private campground and someone drove over our light umbilical cord we use to connect the trailer to the tow van. This was a Sunday afternoon we drove to San Diego to purchase a new 7 blade connector. It proved too much to complete without proper tools. We tried calling the parks referrals and no one was available. We were referred to Richard by a local trailer manufacturer. We stopped by his big clean professional showroom and shop. He was very professional and did the change personally. His two big dogs were great for my kids and they all played together. His family that works with him were very nice to our family. I waited almost a month to post this review as I didn't want the new shinny thing excitement to impact my opinion. Well it didn't matter - still as happy the day I picked it up as today. I was looking for something very specific and had to call numerous shops to find it: Mandrel bent TIG welded 304SS. Most shops don't do this but RPM does. Nic at front office was fantastic all the way through. His estimate aligned with the fabricator's actual quote once he took a look. Nic texted me a picture on request of the progress. It was completed on time and it is absolutely beautiful. Looks as good as it sounds and the truck absolutely RIPS. 04 Tundra 4.7L w TRD Supercharger - needed some help in the form of 2.5" dual exhaust w x pipe and a dump over the axel; RPM delivered big time. Unbelievable! I was in - and out - in 30 minutes replacing the old, rusted Catalytic Converter on my 1999 Chevy S-10 Pick-up (93885 Miles). RPM's service was better than I have had almost anywhere - any business - including some high end restaurants - at any time. Nick quoted me ($685) a price 24% lower than the next best quote I found ($895), and that quote beat two other quotes I had by huge margins ($1,208 and $1,400 - 44% and even 51% lower than my regular auto repair shop with whom I've been working for over 20 years). You get what you pay for? They quoted a good price, not the cheapest but I actually had someone recommend them, and I trusted the recommendation. Long story short - they did a fairly pricey job and did not tighten my radiator cap. As I drove my truck back home from the shop it was smoking from under the hood. White smoke - and after a quick google search I found this could be the new cats / exhaust manifolds just burning off some coating, etc. It wasn't overheating or anything so I continued to drive home, parked and thought nothing of it. Next morning there's a puddle of coolant under my truck - I check everything out and found the radiator cap was loose. Called up Travis at RPM, told him this sad story and he said he was going to talk to the 2 mechanics that worked on my truck and then call me back. That was over 48 hours ago. I've had to obviously replace the lost coolant + get my motor steam cleaned to stop the "wet belt" sound from the coolant coating my belts. Live and learn - check your motor out thoroughly if you plan on bringing it here. read more

Went in and was trying to get my exhaust legal for smog. Then I get no info on when the car is going to be looked at...waited an hour to find out that they haven't even put the car up on a lift to look under it...then the guy doesn't explain well what I need to do to put my stock exhaust on. I recently installed a new GM crate engine into my 1999 Chevy K3500. I decided to buy a set of Gibson ceramic coated headers during the process of installing the new motor. I have a 6-inch lift kit on my truck, and I ran into a clearance issue with the new exhaust and my front drive shaft. I had to remove the front drive shaft for the new exhaust to work. I searched around for a shop to customize my system so I could reinstall the front drive shaft and have my 4-wheel drive back. I hit an object on the road and it kicked up and dented my muffler exhaust. I went to a few shops in the are and considered replacing it myself after getting quotes. My buddy, who is a mobile mechanic told me to check these guys out. Everyone else wanted to do a full replacement whereas these guys took a look and said they could just re-weld a new exhaust onto the existing muffler. Couldn't be happier.
