Repeat customer here! I took my 1500 to Al & Ed's for a sound upgrade and some lights. Johnny was very knowledgeable and courteous. He was receptive to my needs and provided expert advice on how to enhance my sound and lights. Inside, a 10" Subwoofer and an amplifier was discreetly installed and outside, I now have kick-ass LEDs that will light up my world! As for the rear, I wanted better illumination integrated with the reverse lights. The outcome was better than expected. The sound is legit and lights make driving a joy when the front ones are engaged. He and another technician worked on my gear for about 20 minutes. When finished, they refused to accept any payment for their services. And, my subwoofer is distortion free and sounds great! We came in to upgrade our Chevy Van's stereo. The guy who helped us was helpful and to the point. We got an Alpine with Apple Play. They were booked a month out. I could have gone to best buy and got free installation, but I wanted to make sure our new van wouldn't have any issues. I asked if he could hook up the back up camera. So it would display on the larger screen. He was very up front and said sometimes he can. Well they did! Went to the store and looked around briefly before standing at the counter. No greeting when I came in, no recognition, no idea if I would be helped or not. There were 2 people seated at a counter. Did they both work there? Were they on their lunch break? The person sitting behind the counter was telling stories about how rich he would have been had he bought a certain stock. I stood there for a few minutes, and after being ignored, gave up and walked out. I did found out who was the one working there... he yelled at me about being busy with a customer when I said "thanks for the help" as I left. At least I know who was who. Recommendation: greet your customers. Let them know if you are busy. Let them know if you will be with them shortly or after some time. Simple solution, and it helps your business. read more

Although my installation was complex and I had to go back a few times, mike at Al and Ed's was really helpful and they made sure it was right until it was right. Sounds in my car are amasing and I enjoy from the system tremendously. Great job Al and Ed's. Yeah my shot broke after about a year. Don't go here. I've asked them to fix my installation several times and wasn't able to get it fixed. Yeah it sounds great, but the double din doesn't work. I can't put a dvd/cd into the receiver because it wasn't installed properly. I wouldn't recommend this place to anyone they couldn't fix my shit and I paid their top dollar. Btw, they bullshit you on a good deal. They over-price their product only to offer a better deal. Give credit of the audio quality to the manufacturers not the installers. read more

I stopped in to see about replacing the stock radio in my car. Unfortunately, I'm bad at remember names but I was greeted right away, and I told the man what I wanted. It took him no time at all to suggest the perfect stereo. He also gave me some upgrade options, but didn't try to push me into any of them. He then gave me the price, which was much better than I expected walking in, and though it was after 4pm, he got the installation done right away. When I returned, another man took me out to my car and explained how everything works, and what to do to start my Sirius XM service. Called to get an estimate on how much it would cost for installation of an aftermarket sub for the stock factory sub in my vehicle. They acted like I was asking for some custom work and insisted I had to come in so they could see the vehicle. Simple swap, exact same size sub. If they are that unfamiliar with routine work I would stay away. Update: their response is horrible! Everything in my vehicle is 100% stock, nothing special. Found several other business that gave a quote over the phone. I picked the one with the best price and had all 5 star reviews. They did the work for the exact quoted price and earned a 5 star review from me. If you don't understand your business and simple stock vehicles you're in trouble. Learn your business! I went in to change a whip antenna to a shark fin antenna that I purchased online. They are open on Saturday so I didn't need to take time off work. My appointment was at 9:30 AM. I did research and looked at reviews and been a long-time resident of Oceanside/Vista and have seen this place for years when driving by. I knew I had to stop by and get information on an alarm installation for my 1973 C10 truck.
